The beauty of simplicity and the aesthetics of life.
Yo, my name is Alec, 23 years-old from the UK who decided to start this TH-cam, documenting life thing. About 1 year ago I uploaded my first video and now here I am with over 50 on the channel.
I lived in Canada, if you can call it that, for 3 months and now I’m back in the UK. I learned a lot about myself and life while I was there but now I’m back in the UK and can’t wait to get exploring this country!
Stick around and follow the journey! 🤙🏻

Finding the European Goshawk at Wykeham Forest!
#birdsofprey #nature #wildlife
In this video we go to Raptor Viewpoint in Wykeham Forest in the hopes to see a multitude of birds of prey! There are 5 common birds that are seen at Raptor Viewpoint and they are the Common Buzzard, Red Kite, Goshawk, Honey Buzzard and Crossbill. I will hopefully be able to tick a few of these of the list as any of these would be a great site to see, especially the Honey Buzzard as it is winter and they are only here in summer lol.
So let's see if I find anything and I hope you enjoy the video!

Caught in a Blizzard Solo Hiking! | North York Moors

On this freezing morning in the Nork York Moors I though it would be best to head out to the to experience a good early blizzard in Autumn! However all this open land is great habitat for game birds, such as grouses and partridges and an array of different moorland ...

Hey Alec..just wondering if a small RV/Camper would work? That removes the accommodation costs but still gives you transport. Given the work you want to find and the fact that most companies in the Engineering field would have car parking..one problem solved? Just a thought. Canada is a socialist country dictated over by Trudeau..they have an agenda..as does the UK now!
That’s a great idea actually! I didn’t think of that, how do you think a camper would cope in the winter months?
@@sl_alecking So I live on a boat in East Anglia and manage the winter here ok. I know of a few people who have traveled throughout the USA particularly Montana and North Dakota in the winter and had no issues. Living this way just takes a bit more thought and planning..plus the vehicles built there will be very well insulated and have diesel heaters. Some will have small wood burning stoves. I would have thought that the amount of money you are saving in rent etc. would pay for the camper quite quickly, especially if you don't go too fancy. There are many channels on here showing how it's done. I'm going to change to van life when I can and head off to Scotland as I absolutely adore the place! Winter too! 🥶
Great! Thanks for the comment, I will definitely check them channels out!
Life is so perfect so your experence wasnt to your liking oh well cant plesse all the people all the time. Life is what you make of it if your experience failed to live up to expectations thats unfortunate but that is life. Take away the experience for comparison and maybe should there be another option it may turn out better. Life gives back what you pit into it.

My good man, I cannot believe you flew all the way from England to Toronto and did nothing more than wander around the waterfront and then hopping an Uber and head to the north end of the city. My God, man, I would suggest that you basically do a little research. There are so many things t in this city as far as entertainment, nightlife, bars, patio decks you missed it all. What on earth were you doing? I feel absolutely horrible for you as you certainly didn't seem like you had much of a good time. If you're ever back in Toronto get in touch with me. I'll be more than happy to show you some spots in the downtown core. Maybe a little King West, the Danforth, the beaches, and so many other things. And as for hopping on a subway, you're right outside the subway station it would've cost you $3.50 Canadian to travel as far as you wanted on that subway without any extra charges, once you got close to your location that you we're staying at. You've could've hired an Uber from there and saved yourself a fortune. Sorry your visit wasn't nearly as entertaining as I was seeing. Good luck next time from a downtown Toronto guy.
@@DerekParcher I’m from a tiny town in the UK mate, the whole city was very daunting especially when it’s all so alien to me and being there by myself. But I appreciate you reaching out, thank you. ☺️
@@sl_alecking I know it's a little daunting at first. However, I'm from a tiny village of 300 in northern Ontario that didn't even have shops. It takes a bit if you meet the right people like myself who have family members in the mining industry as well as the electrical and mechanical, I could've helped by pointing you in the right direction. I know your qualifications in England, do qualify here for machining as my father was a machinist in Canada and worked in many other countries throughout his career. Hopefully you won't get too discouraged in your future as sometimes HR departments don't know what the hell they're talking about when it comes to qualifications. As you said in your last video about Canada in Toronto, they said you're qualifications for machining don't qualify you, but when you got to Alberta, you seem to have found a machining job quite readily in Edmonton. That's the problem with HR. As a Canadian I'm sorry things didn't work out for you and as a human being. Keep pushing forward you'll get what you want in the long run.
Thank you man, really appreciate your comments!
Bro you’re in Toronto and u just get a burger? Go to Chinatown or Little Italy or Korea town or Greek town or somethinggggg
Should have stayed near Yonge street that way you could have just used the subway
I'm heading to Toronto in August 25. Seen a lot of baseball on trips to Chicago and look forward to seeing the Cubs play the Blue Jays.
@@1320martyh Oh mate that will be mint! Have a good trip 👍
hope you meet some people alec so you wont be lonely . we are so spread out and like it but in britain their appear to be pple everywhere. we dont really have high streets.
You didn't get the jobs because you are white. And before you take some kind of offense to that, our leftist government has incentivized companies to higher minorites as a preference. It not uncommon at all here for whites to not be able to find work that pays a livable wage. Some companies literally advertize "No whites" .. and this isn't illegal here btw. It's part of a major issue relating to immigration and illegal migrants.. which being British, you should be familiar with.
you have to practice your filming more - too choppy - makes me seasick
Absolute Muppets, no idea what wild camping is 🙈🙄
Sorry chaps but it seems you don't understand what 'wild camping' in the England and Wales is. Wild Camping in general is illegal everywhere but Dartmoor however a blind eye is turned to those that pitch up late and pack up early. Fires are NEVER allowed for a variety of reasons from environmental damage to risk of wild fires. Please be better.
You lot are as thick as elephant foreskins.
How can you call this Wild Camping, destroying the trees and having camp fires with the branches and stumps that you gather is pure vandalism. You should all be reported for this, this kind of camping needs to be stopped. What you are doing is illegal. Do you realised there is a protection order on most of the trees some are old and is an offence to destroy them.
The wood was already cut off, it’s not an offence to burn wood mate
@fazehorsey3830 it's an offence to light fires in national parks and is stupid in most places it certainly is the needed for wild camping You'd get a better response in comments if you practiced and shared responsible camping not this fire crap.
Get a life mate couple young lads camping proper boring fella you
bushcrafters do their thing on private land c where they have permission You haven’t got permission to camp there or light fires
It’s okay Tony, some people lose their virginity later than others!
This is not a "wild camp", it is illegal fly camping. You only walked a few 100 yards from your cars, and totally ignored the signs stating "strictly no camping and fires". Fires anywhere in the Lake District are totally prohibited.
Wild camping is illegal too in the Lake District. We left no trace that we were there and didn’t leave a mess or make one. Apologies
@sl_alecking but as I stated sharing your illegal activities on social media only attracts more idiots to do the same. If you want to camp why not stretch your legs a couple miles out of sight and no fires?
Bore off
No matter how far you go though it is still illegal to wild camp in the Lake District? On your channel you are sharing your illegal activities of wild camping too?
@sl_alecking wild camping is "tolerated" by the landowners if you follow their rules. You muppets didn't!
Wtf is this can't you camp without fires completely unnecessary in any wild camping situation besides illegal in national parks. If you want to share your joy why not do it respectfully and responsibility?
Hello mate, we left no trace or mess when we left. Sorry
@sl_alecking thanks for the reply that's something fit sure but better not to light fires they really really bad idea zero excuse for that part Also showing fires on here only encouraging others to do so who might he even more stupid and not put them out or share to more people stupid enough to light fires and leave unsightly fire pits
No way should you be encouraging people to light fires in the Lakes or any other national park. This is what gives our hobby a bad name. Really disappointing
No matter what you post on the internet a group will always take it that one step further.
We didn't tell anyone to copy us, we just had a fire just like countless other youtubers, mainly ones that do bushcraft. Nothing was harmed and it was left how we found it.
No way this opens on Spadina where I work!!
Hahah that's cool!
It's not easy to just "get settled" in a short time here ( Especially in T.O.). It can be a very lonely place if you're flying solo. I hope you enjoyed your time here as a vacation Alex. All the best man.
Thank you buddy! I did, wouldn’t change any of it. I wish it worked out but I’ll definitely be back to the country again, it’s amazing.
Onto the next adventure
Very useful video, thanks for sharing. Have you ever lived in London? When I look at Toronto rents, they don't seem that high to me, because of my London point of reference. However, I will say that you absolutely do not need to own a car in London, which is a big saving, especially with insurance it seems..... !
@@Zukias I can’t say I have mate, I am from the North East so up here it’s no where near the cost of London.
sounds like shit with the insurance, we think its bad here haha
I know, mad isn’t it!
£1500 is insane, you shouId've tried doing it yourself first. I applied for mine via the official government website and it was easy as pie. Did you fly a drone?
Yes, I was given permission due to having a drone less than 250g and told not to exceed a max altitude of 122 meters.
@@sl_alecking that’s awesome! We will visit end of august and we really want to fly a drone too. How did you asked permission? Was it smokey in banff when you went? Nice video btw! 😊
Thank you! It was pretty smokey when we went to Lake Louise but cleared up by the time we went to the town of Banff. So basically flying any sort of drone in Banff National Park is prohibited, annoyingly. I was lucky as the girl I mentioned it to said keep it out the way of people and only have it in the air for a short time and I was okay, people seen me flying but left me alone. People have been snitched on and had to pay fines. I just told the girl the facts of the drone how it’s a mini one, etc and my intentions and she was cool. So either mention it to someone and they say yes or no, or you can be sneaky. I hope this helps, I know it’s not the answering you were hoping for!
