Lennox gas pack that I believe has a faulty limit switch is my issue. Looks similar except temperature range is 165-30 and orange in color. One of the three 5/16” screws is corroded badly. Will probably need an easy out bit to remove. Easy job turns somewhat difficult.
@@roberts1159 it is like that sometimes.. especially when it’s supposed to be an “easy job”
Plus that things probably 180,000 BTUs loll replacements are like half the amount you know.

Stick with gas.imo It heats way better than electric. I'm in ATL too

My craziest situation as an hvac tech i got called out one winter sunday morning during football on tv to a home with heat i get to the home and customer says they have no heat and furnace is in basement so i head down to basement to check it out i flip light switch and no lights come on so i ask customer all her bulbs are out she says they cut the power non payment so i tell her thats why furnace isnt working and she states i thought it ran off gas i said it needs electricity too 😂
@@domingocarrasquillo2190 ohh man that’s a wild one! We have had similar situations lol
Been there. Suppose to be next door. Except it wasn’t a tune up, I was running a whole heat run. That “hey I’m in the basement, where are you?” phone call. 🏃

What a load. They take condensers that still have refrigerant in them and vent into air unless it’s R22, 12, other older refrigerant that can be reclaimed for decent money. Strip out the coils(hopefully copper) and sell the whole mess. Smarter ones watch commodity prices and sell when copper and tin prices are up. Broke ones just take that days price and go on being poor boys
You should report them because venting ANY FREONS will result in a fine of 37 thousand dollars or more per AC. It's outright Illegal in every state
Teamwork!
I can see your boss rolling his eyes
This is so fucking charming 🖤.
When I got a job at his same job 🥰
lol this would be me and my brother working together if we did😂❤
lol fr
Bro, just reclaim the refrigerant before you cut the lineset?!? WTF?
We do sometimes, depends on the scenario.
Bro if you recycle your old equipment learn to use a recovery machine and use recovery tanks. Resi installer 101. You guys are adding hella labor by doing the recovery twice
A pump down takes about 5-10 mins to pump all the refrigerant into the condenser. Recovering the refrigerant takes 30-45 mins, depending on how many pounds are in the unit
@@jonahlawrence1929 Vacuum your recovery tank to 500microns, put it in a bucket of ice and it will likely pull most of if not all into the tank.
@@user-cz8do7xl8uThat still takes longer than pumping a system down for removal. Unless the compressor is dead, that will move gas to be isolated far faster than recovering.
Suction line dude, anyways just crack the valve and walk away…. F the epa
Why would they vent refrigerant that they sell to customers for $300/lb or more?

That’s not called a liquid line bud
What is it called? It is not a heat pump.. straight a/c unit. Suction=big. Liquid=small.
@@staycoolclimatecontrolan AC only unit is still a heat pump…
Nice man
Thanks!
idk about clearing a drain line like that bro, should take the panel off and start at the primary evap drain pan, i find so many clogs are inside right at the hole. gotta clear the whole pan out too or else itll get blocked up again fast.
@@fatkiefbowls we find a ton of clogs at the fitting and within the hose. I understand completely but these are tips for homeowners mainly and we don’t really recommend they take any panels apart or go further in depth. That is very good stuff though!
Nice work brotha!!
I hope you guys can fix this issue
so do we!
Thanks. Was just talking about this at work and nobody knew or looked it up. Was just for life to show me.
Electric costs way more to operate though.
@@uponthemesa yes typically it does.
Unless you live where I do. Electricity is so cheap that electric heater is cheaper than gas. 🙃
Doesn't spin, it oscillates.
I said spins for viewing purposes because most homeowners won’t understand what that means but I agree!
It’s a soft start kit. It brings the compressor up the speed slowly. It doesn’t pull all of the amperage right at the start. It’s a good idea.
Soft starts are other types of devices, these are hard starts
No, this is a hard start, it holds a charge and releases it when the compressor starts.
I have a split system. Using 3.5-ton Heat Pump by Good Man. Has the scroll type compressor. Unit has been running just fine, going on seventeen years. Lately since hot weather has set in. Get some inside fast light blink when unit comes on. Cooling good and unit sounds O.K. while running. Weather in S.C. is very hot right now. Would a hard start kit like above be a good idea to put on this unit?
I would check and make sure your capacitor is good first. Sometimes you will get dimming lights when they are about to fail. Just don't get zapped on it.
I agree with the first comment. Make sure the capacitor is not weak and if it is not weak then it may not be a bad idea to add one.
