    The ideals of Liberty, Equality and Fraternity that form the basis and drvining force of human civilzation are finding a new impetus in digital revolution. It gives us a strong reason to be optimistic about the future with enhanced and reinforced ideals. Of course, there are going to be headwinds that shall try to shake us from our cherished path the way it happened to Robespierre, but the odds are in our favour that we shall sail through.

    The depiction of Bastilla as a huge fortress is funny to me. It was three stories high and in fact a "row house". A total of 5 prisoners, whom the revolutionaries returned to prison by evening. The first victim was the commander of the Bastille. he refused to give weapons (the fort was actually a storehouse of weapons and gunpowder) so they killed him, cut off his head and paraded it around the city on a spear. At Danton's trial, he was gagged so that he could not defend himself.

      That is completely untrue. There are countless contemporary drawings and paintings of the Bastille, and the blueprints/plans are all still intact. "The resulting structure became known simply as the Bastille, with the eight irregularly built towers and linking curtain walls forming a structure 223 feet (68 m) wide and 121 feet (37 m) deep, the walls and towers 78 feet (24 m) high and 10 feet (3.0 m) thick at their bases."

    Boy, is this a total history revisionist and selective piece of amateur and politicized garbage or what? You think that the Plains Indians were sophisticated and building cities; well, they weren't. Most natives throughout North and South America had no written language and were living in the stone age. The Aztecs were an exception, as were the Mayans and Incas who had a written language and did build cities-- they were a strange hybrid of Stone Age city builders. However, the Aztecs funny enough never invented the wheel. Aztecs knew how to smelt gold but used stone-age weapons and tools. Were the Plains Indians building anything comparable to a city? Were they irrigating? Were the Inuit building civilizations? No. The geography and tribes of the New World were varied and many, and each was different. It's interesting how you never mention the enslavement of Indians under Aztec empire rule... Or that you never mentioned that the Aztecs had an empire... Or that human sacrifice was a big thing for the Aztecs. (Do you wonder how a handful of Spaniards conquered the Aztec empire and took Tenochtitlan? It's because the local indigenous tribes living under the Aztec rule filled the ranks under Spanish command to fight the Aztecs because they hated the Aztecs because the Aztecs were human sacrificing, slave taking, and evil overlords.) Warfare, ritual torture and cannabilism were a thing throughout the New World among native tribes and groups. Also the number of people in the New World in 1491 in no way was over a 100 million, no way! Take a more honest and specific approach to this topic, and you'll do better. It will show sincerity, truth and facts. Stay to specifics, e.g. the Aztecs.

    In 1500 the population of Europe was 60 million. The population of Russia was likely under 10 million. The population of the ENTIRE middle east, including Egypt was less than 10 million. Thats with iron, bronze, steal, horses, castles, apartment complexes and literally not a city on the continent that doesn't have structures still standing from before Columbus. To suggest North America had a population EVEN CLOSE to 100 million is pretty hard to believe. Go to the biggest ancient ruins of middle age US. Cahokia, Chaco, etc. Each had populations of around 20,000! They were tiny! Much like pre-bronze age Europe, there just wasn't technology to maintain large cities & populations. The only real population was in Mexico among the Aztec Empire... and although it was impressive, it still was not as strong or impressive as the Ottoman empire... which as mentioned had around 10 million people. There are great census records in Mexico of how many died in the plagues... and much like Europe during black death... it averaged 30% and only occasionally reached 50%. Not 99% as this study would require.

    • @apolloshortsmedia
      @apolloshortsmedia 29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Very good analysis. This book is leaning towards 100 million while there are other scholars that are leaning towards much smaller number. Here is what google search shows: "Pre-Columbian population figures are difficult to estimate because of the fragmentary nature of the evidence. Estimates range from 8-112 million. Scholars have varied widely on the estimated size of the Indigenous populations prior to colonization and on the effects of European contact."

    Ezra 6 New American Bible (Revised Edition) Chapter 6 The Decree of Darius. 1 [a]Thereupon King Darius issued an order to search the archives in which the treasures were stored in Babylon. 2 However, a scroll was found in Ecbatana, the stronghold in the province of Media, containing the following text: “Memorandum. 3 In the first year of his reign, King Cyrus issued a decree: With regard to the house of God in Jerusalem: the house is to be rebuilt as a place for offering sacrifices and bringing burnt offerings. Its height is to be sixty cubits and its width sixty cubits. 4 It shall have three courses of cut stone for each one of timber. The costs are to be borne by the royal house. 5 Also, let the gold and silver vessels of the house of God which Nebuchadnezzar took from the temple of Jerusalem and brought to Babylon be sent back; let them be returned to their place in the temple of Jerusalem and deposited in the house of God.”
