Idk if this was patched out but it doesn't seem to work at this point. The step counter resets when you save and the encounters seem to be random after a reset.
This still works, but you need to be holding your directional input from the earliest possible moment if you want the exact amount of frames each time. You should hold the movement as soon as you press Continue, before the save file finishes loading. Any amount of waiting, even 1 frame, after the save file has been loaded will change the RNG.

I just set everything on low and sharpness at 100 in this video. If you're wondering about the video quality, I record with shadowplay at 35Mbps bitrate.

@@andikiwi9802yea unfortunately my dumbass didn't play PvE and didn't even unlock mods yet. I started getting mods after, and it seems the mod that refreshes your ability on knockout would be super good. You get that one and a bunch of others at Lv15.

I don’t know how to rng manipulate, and in the long tedious process of grinding out 10 Drain3 F chips in internet area 15 (why are mosqurito3 virus battles so rare?), I got 4 LeafShields and 2 Dropdowns from busting level 9 drops. Not an indication of how lucky I am, it’s an indication of how long it took. : P

Do you know if you reload the save a chip can still drop after a battle? Or will it always be zenny? I say this because I have a save on a single Popper 2 that I always encounter, and I know the chances of getting DropDown is dumb low, but I don't know if I should keep reloading the save or not trying to go for that chance.
you might have to mix something up, like put in an area steal, shoot, or something. if you can't mix it up you have to try again.
