    Great work!, this video deserves more appreciations. you definitely have a great talent, since you are lefty player, you can always make a guitar based on whatever type of guitar you want that doesn’t has lefty version. Question: the strat kind of guitar hanging on the wall, did you also build it yourself?

    Great work. Can I ask you if about boiled linseed oil? Is it a strong finish? Has it dried in a few days? Is it better than Tung oil or Urethane trasparent varnish?

    • @lennyc624
      @lennyc624 19 วันที่ผ่านมา

      it's not bad. I have not used tung oil. It dries relatively quickly, like a day. If I were to do it again, I would have applied a couple more coats a day or so apart. One thing I have used and had really good results with is Tru-oil gun stock oil. It dries in a few hours to the point where you can scuff it and apply another coat. You can apply many coats and the finish gets glossier with each coat.

    Thank-You so very much. This video makes rreplacing the battery so much easier than I thought compared to other cars. And now I have to replace the Alternator on the 2013 Chevy Malibu too and that is A pain in the rear because of the tork release bar to release the belt can be A pain. Once the belt is off the Alernator I just don't need i t to slip off anything else. Then it would be hard to rethread considering the very tight limited space.

    The contacts have a ultra thin coating of silver plating when the switch is new. Ants will commonly get in between the contacts and then get fried! They are attracted to ozone that is created when the contact spark. Rather than first useing sand paper, try using electrical contact cleaner. Turn off power! Spray several times. Spray it on a very thin piece of card stock paper, then run it through each of the 4 contacts, while manually closing the contacts, as you spray more cleaner through the contact points. Let this dry well for at least a half hour. Turn power back on, and see if this will work. If no luck, go to 660 grit sand paper, or finer if one can find it. Auto paint supplies has very fine sand paper.

    Hi. Can I ask why did you use a separate fretboard slab yet use a skunk stripe to route the truss rod slot? Is that just era correct for your build? Thanks for the great video. i learned a lot.

    • @lennyc624
      @lennyc624 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think I did that because I didn't have a thick enough piece of maple to make a 1 piece at that time. The skunk stripe and bullet truss rod was an era choice. Also that's how I did my truss rods back then. I do it differently now. My method is always evolving.

    • @lennyc624
      @lennyc624 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@jeff1872t not really. As far as I understand, there's a screw accessible under the 7th fret marker dot. I think. I'm nor sure what the purpose is. My guess is to prevent the truss rod from digging into the wood under tension. I've built a few necks without that and they seem to work ok. I may be totally wrong about the purpose of that. It's just my best guess.

    Thanks for this video. Took my 025 to my local store for a service. They informed me that the piston was shot and that it would cost more than the saw was worth to fix. They offered me £40 to buy the saw off me. Thankfully I refused. A quick search on amazon got me to piston that you have here in the video. Followed your vid to install (as well as adding a smidge of oil), and saw now runs better than it has in years.

  • @petersherrouse33
    @petersherrouse33 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Small tank = short run cycles. First approximation, the pump life span is not decreased by number of starts and stops. However, every time a pump starts and stops it has a tendency to twist which can rub the pipe and wires against the casing which eventually cuts the wires or pipe ( a careful install with snubbers and pipe centering guides greatly reduces this risk, I have also seen the pump to motor coupler splines wear out on a high usage pump with MANY starts over time. But probably the first to wear out will be the pressure switch contacts which arc away due to the number of times the pump turns off (greatest arc) The the smaller the tank (more start/stops), larger the pump (larger arc), the more water used, the faster this will happen. I highly suggest keeping a spare switch handy.

You want a shitty blower, get one of those B&D 20V cordless blowers like my wife loves. Works every fifteen minutes till the battery runs down and a third grader with a paper towel tube could blow leaves harder.
