In this video, I’m Sahara Kiyoni, and I’ll share essential techniques for modeling round ducts, placing fan coils, and connecting ducts to equipment. Let’s get started!
1. Setting Up the Template:
• Begin by opening a suitable template in AutoCAD. You can choose from imperial or metric templates based on your project requirements. I’ll use the mechanical default metric template today.
2. Loading Equipment:
• Navigate to the Insert tab, click “Load Family,” and select the fan coil family. Ensure the family is upgraded for compatibility with AutoCAD 2024.
3. Placing the Fan Coil:
• Access the Systems tab and find the mechanical equipment tool. Specify the elevation for the fan coil placement based on your project’s ceiling height.
4. Connecting Ducts:
• Start by drawing the initial rectangular duct with a transition to round. Use the split tool to convert sections of the duct to the desired shapes.
• Load the necessary families for transitions, ensuring you have both rectangular-to-round and square transitions ready to use.
5. Creating Branch Ducts:
• Draw branches using the duct command and set the appropriate diameters for each duct segment. Don’t forget to adjust transitions for a smooth flow.
6. Exploring Fittings:
