Van Halen - I'm the One - COVER
มุมมอง 1.8K4 ปีที่แล้ว
Here's one for all you VH fans - I've rolled up my sleeves during the Christmas holidays and decided to cover the majestic "I'm the One" by Van Halen from their exceptional first album in 1978. Toughest VH track in my repertoire for sure but decided to take on the challenge of covering it in 1 take. The groove is mean, the energy is high and Eddie came up with a swing nobody has replicated as w...

Michael Bolton - How Am I Supposed To Live Without You - Guitar Solo
มุมมอง 1.4K4 ปีที่แล้ว
Here is my take on the gorgeous guitar solo played by Mike Landau on Michael's Bolton's 80s hit - 'How am I supposed to live without you'. This was on the Soul Provider album from 1989 and is a wonderful example of Mike Landau's slick playing with that awesome processed sound he has. For the longest time I thought this was Steve Lukather doing the solo but these guys are similar! Steve has a sl...

Brother u can jam
Bro ur awesome , u hit right on
DAWs have come a long way in 4 years!
Wow! Perfect!
Michael Anthony fills in for his own guitarist.
Wowwww spectacular ❤
That Is A Really Cool Guitar ✨️
Oh wow, isnt that the prom queen? Anything left in that bottle? What is there to do tonight?
MY GOD! When i closed my eyes…. it was all Eddie. way too close to the original! Tone, pitch, pinches and harmonics were SPOT ON! INCREDIBLE work brother!
You look a lot like the bassist for van halen, but you played the lead part perfectly.
The way I learned it using index (I), thumb, (T) and left hand slap (X) is |: IXTXIXTTXIXTXITT :|
Me too.
👍😛
Fantastic cover dude! What's the pickup in this frankie?
Gay as fuck
The guitar sound is muddy… Eddie’s was much cleaner.
Such an awesome song!
Awesome......
you are the first person on here i have found that plays this right!... there are so many people that teach this but none of them sound correct to my ears
Amazing song....one super band... Van Halen....and Michael Anthony... very nice 😁... showww 😎.... Love ❤
Unfortunately, i need the tapping intro. The rest is fairly easy…
Really nice job here...well done.
Vladimír Dvořák THANK YOU, V E R Y M U CH...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeahhhhhhhh
Awesomeeee
This is great! I feel that same fun energy that you are giving off in this video every time I hear this song. Those soft chords Eddie does at 2:03 right before the breakdown/tapped harmonics section always gets me!! Fantastic job on this man, sounds just like the original!
Ok what is rig ?
Great job 😊
Thanks mate 👌
Best on TH-cam
nice
How are you getting your guitar tone? That sounds very close to that amazing tone EVH got in that song.
Thanks! I have a video showing exactly how I achieved the brown sound using plugins on cubase - th-cam.com/video/glHcG_-zJk8/w-d-xo.html
Why not play it like how Eddie taught it in the Guitar World October 1993 issue? It is easier the original way Eddie plays it.
I must say you play like Eddie and sing like Roth nice job
One of the prettiest melodies i believe ive ever heard, R.I.P. Eddie Van Halen my old friend.
Excellent lesson dude. I appreciate your approach to teaching. You slow it down enough to where we can see and understand what your telling us. At 59 I've rediscover ed my guitars. TH-cam has made learning so much easier than in the 80s when just constantly rewinded the tape! 😅🤙
Excellent
Not quite
Wait a moment, this guy don1t play bass?, well is amazing playing guitar too, you nail it
I can't stand it when guys play Van Halen and think they got it down...You are the closest I've heard so far and I've heard far too many..Great Job man and keep them coming..that was one of his easy ones though...lol !
Thanks! I also did I'm the One if you fancy listening to a much harder one!
You nailed the most important thing in this song.. the swing in playing the open A string.. not too many can duplicate that swing feel and mood. Eddie was all about swing grooves. He used it in a lot of his songs and you can hear it in Alex’ drumming. I believe it’s from the big bands he and Alex used to sit in on when they were kids. Anyways, your solos in this song 😮 OMG… on point. Love your stuff.
Thanks!!!!
I love Eddie and this was amazing!!! Man you nailed the tone as much as anyone I’ve seen and your playing is tops bro!! Cool👌
Michael Anthony Play Guitar 😂😂😂
sweet job man
Good shit !! What’s your signal chain ? The tone is there
Nice try, guitar hero!
Muito bom! 🇧🇷
Life long VH fan, been there since almost the beginning. Am I the only who assumed this was a cover song? For many years I thought this was a tune that came out of the early 60's, possible Motown, and EVH put a spin on it. I never bothered to look at the writing credits. When I finally did I found it was the boys themselves that put this together. Talk abut a throw-back sound! Always liked it. Most definitely DLR had a lot of influence on this, it is right in his wheelhouse. One of those tunes you like from the get-go. It doesn't have to grow on you. Great job by the way!
in van halen all writing credits of the songs belong to current members of the band at that time. But you know that mostly Eddie was the man created the music in their songs and vocalists were creating the lyrics of the songs. like dave and sammy
@@lqkwje When I was in high school Diver Down came out and it had several cover songs (Kinks, Martha and the Vandllas, etc) DLR pushed those choices. Thus I thought they may have covered a song on VH II, their second album that featured Dance the Night Away. That song sounded completely different from any other original material. Still a favorite, great song! Really miss those days!
@@danielcasey4854 yes diver down includes half of the songs that are cover songs which eddie hated about. I really like dance the night away forever and besides that i wish they didnt do all the cover things at all like from vh2 and diver down
🤘🤘 amazing guitar god bless eddie
