Thank you! Nothing super surprising, but lots of fun little facts. I do find it odd that so many of the coins were from the 1970's when they were collected in the late 1990's. Was there a slow down on making them, so most of the ones in circulation were still from from decades prior?

I've heard of these counterfeit nickels. Guess they're sorta easy to identify with the missing mint mark. Probably more by the minting errors more. Don't think I've seen any yet.

Hi, I have a 1940 nickel without the mint Mark. Also have another 1940 with the mint Mark on the right si de of the building. Also a 1945 nickel with the mint Mark p o top. Are they worth something?.

Not all 1942 nickels had silver, but there was not as many made as the silver ones.

eBay allows fake coins to be sold regularly because they get a percentage of the sale. I've seen many counterfeit Morgan Dollars in the last two years and they were sold on eBay. ⚠️ Be careful out there because even reputable dealers are selling these because they made a mistake buying them. (They just want there money back⚠️😡)

This was a very informative video, I didn't know about the North Africa certificate! Also, so far as I understand it, the silver certificates are tied to the Coinage Act of 1873 which was really significant. It put the US on a gold standard and stopped the minting of all silver coinage, which seriously affected the economy of the western states and partly contributed to the Panic of 1873, an economic depression. In 1878, in response to the harsh criticism of the act, the government was ordered to purchase large amounts of silver every month and mint it for coinage, and these certificates were a part of restoring that trust in the economy and value of US currency in the time before US hegemony.

1942 has a 2 over 1 error you can look for.

I love that you came out ahead even though the box was a dud.

The common sense rule is that the Henning nickel goes for much more than a genuine nickel and so the damage to the USA economy from them will be ZERO.

Thanks for sharing the history about this Russian bill. I lived in Russia once upon a time but I never knew what the images where on the bills or coins. Makes me want to take a trip to Krasnayarsk and Siberia to see the things depicted on this bill.

Interesting information, thanks! Now... I'm wondering how many countries have people on their currency, and which focus more on important places or accomplishments, like this one did. I suppose we actually do both here in the U.S., with people on the front and places on the back. Same with coins, I think? And that sounds like a research project: how does what's on the money of a given country reflect its interests and motivations? Ooh, and an awesome reason to travel around the world to get the locals' opinions on what their money says about their country, and what they might change about it. (If I were rich enough to do that, I'm sure it'd be a youtube sensation! 😂)

Goodday to all. I have my fathers collection of cions. Very old collection. Ive found 2 hennigs nickles. Ithink they are fake because there to skinny and you cant hardly read the coins . No dates .very faded. I need help with the 2 coins. Thank you.

China has the ability to make fake toonies and sell them to people here in Canada. If the CSBA fails to find the shipments. Well lets just say that in the last 10 days I have found 3 fake toonies. Canada is talking about getting rid of the $5 polymer bill. Replace them with a coin. Hello fake $5 coins baby !!!.
