Focused more on events where the pain was just too much to handle and left big scars. But it will also work on minor events, to change how you experienced them and what you learned from them.
(but without erasing any past knowledge)
Think of it as an alchemy of realities, the past experiences will feel like something you experienced in a dream, you have the knowledge but it hits differently. It doesn't affect you as much.
As for effects, you can expect some general lightness, passive releases of past struggles, less cynism and an increased desire to live and do things (and much more, I just wrote what came to mind). The experiences should be a bit subjective but following this line.
