NO WORDS for how incredible she is and continues to be. I adore her.

A beautiful woman, inside and out. And not just her divine voice. She was intelligent, compassionate, joyful, a leader in the New York opera. Her friends called her Giggles for her infectious bubbly laugh! I will always miss her but we can still hear her sing and for that I am grateful!

Bartoli is certainly showy and impressive, but I like Berganza and Genaux in florid coloratura music slightly better. Genaux in Vivaldi’s Bajazet, which I was fortunate to witness in a live performance, was truly jaw-dropping, with her nonaspirated coloratura. (In her defense, Bartoli’s coloratura sounds less aspirated and more natural now than it used to be.)

I loved her acting, femininity, and the "silver" in her voice. She always made me believe in, and like, the characters she played; that is a rare gift. Even if they were flawed, you always felt the good in them.

Riveting and remarkable. Her dexterity is unbelievable. It’s all about personal taste. I find my ‘favourite’ depends on my mood. One day it’s Callas, the next Sill, or Sutherland, or Gruberova, or Dessay. The list goes on and on. Each one (and so many more) is a diva in her own right. Thank God we have them preserved for posterity, and for our personal, listening pleasure. 🥰
