The Intersection of Academics and Athletics | Prof Chad Tatko & Coach Trent Figg | Calvin University
Both Dr. Chad Tatko and Coach Trent Figg find it common to put the letter "O" on a white board when teaching. One stands in front of chemistry students talking about oxygen and other elements; the other in front of football players talking offensive and defensive schemes. Both find the lessons the other teaches just as important in developing the whole student. Listen as they discuss the intersection of sport, academics, and faith. This lecture is only online.

Allow me to play the Medieval devil's advocate: For example, a few questions on death: 1. What happens to the soul upon death? 2. Is there a "limbo?" 3. Is there suffering there? Purification? 4. If not, what about those souls which are deemed worthy of something glorious; can they not intercede on our behalf? etc.

Asperger’s syndrome was rolled into the Autism Spectrum Disorder category in 2013. Autism is generally seen as a very wide spectrum, and not a linear one. What's this obsession in trying to interpret the Bible perfectly? Even if you could, where do you go from there? What is the ultimate objective? Does it lead to the kind of spiritual awakening so transformational that it can dramatically change the world for the better? Will it awaken the divine in all of us hence put to rest *once and for all* our suffering? Will it provide to leaders around the world the kind of wisdom that will put an end to wars, injustice, and the rape of the earth? If not, then to hell with all these interpretations!! It just becomes an end in itself i.e. another lame-ass interpretation that is reified as an absolute truth hence turned into a dehumanizing object of idolatry. Let's face it! You got nothing on God!! Why? Because when you say God is a deity, you are already fucked. Such a God is beyond all categories of thought. The human mind is incapable of conceiving it. All you have are beliefs, concepts, ideas, as to who YOU think God is. That's what we've been going for centuries- believing in endless interpretations of God. To hell with that!

No, don't think that he came for such a purpose; don't be so presumptuous; for the law is good, just and spiritual (as St. Paul says, yes, but also calling it "the strength of sin"), but Jesus' death, the death of the Son of God, God in the flesh, which is harder, more cosmically astounding than the disappearance of heaven and earth, does accomplish that very purpose: "Having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace, and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity."

No matter how we look at it in time, both in the first century, medieval or the 20th century and the present, it comes down to our tendency towards trying to save our flesh, by serving it rather than dying to it and taking up our cross. We so easily forget to allow the advocate lead us.

For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries: Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you: Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the quick and the dead. For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit. Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? James 2:5-7 Listen to me, dear brothers and sisters. Hasn't God chosen the poor in this world to be rich in faith? Aren't they the ones who will inherit the Kingdom he promised to those who love him? But you dishonor the poor! Isn't it the rich who oppress you and drag you into court? Aren't they the ones who slander Jesus Christ, whose noble name you bear? Ever wonder why when Christ returns He has a NEW NAME (Revelation 3: 12)? A name that only He knows (Revelation 19: 12)? I believe, my opinion, it's because Rome has claimed the name Jesus Christ as the source of their "sovereignty". All jurisdictions ( governments, nations, religions ) fall under their claim. They use His name in equity...trust. Through that they also worship and literally "serve" their other gods like "Lady Justice". (Research Lady Justice for those who haven't.) These priest; administrators; trustees; agents; drag you into their "temple of justice" (literally means "courthouse") through the ALL CAPS NAME they force us and those before us to "register" as. Governments and churches, stemming from Rome, use and dictate the name Jesus Christ like they use and dictate the ALL CAPS NAME in their corporate satanic system. Constantine LEGALIZED the name..and King James AUTHORIZED the name!!... His name is what they use to claim SOVEREIGNTY.. I can't express that word enough. MEN HAVE NO SOVEREIGNTY OVER THE KING OF kings AND LORD OF lords; The Great I AM that I AM! None!. Nor do they over us who are kings and priest of The Most High who reign on the earth!! (Revelation 5:9-10 And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.). So Christ having a NEW Name when He returns makes complete sense from that prospective. Look how many scriptures where Christ said this very thing! Matthew 7:22-23 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in THY NAME? and in THY NAME have cast out devils? and in THY NAME done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I NEVER KNEW YOU: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. iniquity... in equity...hmm Seems to me that it's more important that He know you...than you thinking how much you know Him. Letting someone know you is different than you trying to know someone. You can be as fake as you want to be when you are trying to know someone and it doesn't matter..that person would never know. But if you were truly letting that person know you... eventually the fake will be exposed. Here's another verse in scripture. Matthew 24:4-5 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in MY NAME, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. People will use His NAME..saying HE IS CHRIST..and deceive many...hmm. That is the context of the verse..not that people will claim to be christ themselves. They will literally claim Jesus is Christ!..And DECEIVE MANY! I could put more... You get the point though. They use the Name Jesus Christ...to have political power over you.. they claim sovereignty. From who?? Or what?? When did The Most High give man dominion over men? I remember Him giving us dominion over the land, air and water...but not over men🤔 It is sickening to see the extent of the shroud put over our eyes to keep us blind. The scriptures only point to Christ! They of themselves; like just claiming the name; will not save you (John 5: 39-40). You have to let Him know you. The good, the bad, and the ugly. Most aren't willing to do that. I love the scriptures... I just don't idolize them. There are too many things we don't comprehend about them though..and still label things as fact based on just hearsay! Here is an example Matthew 22:29-30 Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God. For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven. Show me where in the old Testament Christ quotes this scripture? You will ONLY find it in Enoch! Yet Enoch isn't part of the cannon.. Christ himself..along with Jude quotes Enoch and calls it scripture!..... So why isn't it scripture???? So called " bible scholars" debate this and try to give the people just a few options to choose from to believe...like politicians who only give you a select few "candidates" to vote for. Both could be wrong and evil...but who cares right! Don't ask questions lol.. Who decides what is or isn't "inspired" by God?! What would be the purpose of Christ coming to earth.. dying..being ressurected..us GIVEN the Holy Spirit!... If an incomplete compilation of scrolls had ALL the words in it to save you? Christ Himself said that the scriptures of themselves will not save you. That they only point to Him (John 5: 39-40).. Yet people refuse to come to Him! Men control religion.... There is no other excuse for that. I believe this to be a great warning and showing of a strong delusion at work. 😊For real though...Matthew 7: 22-23 specifically states; many will claim HIS NAME to prophesying, casting out of devils, and to doing wonderful works! Sounds more like the systematic church corporation to me. How many churches are 501 c3 now? Most all of them. Most churches have the gold fringe captured war flag in their church...and the people don't even know what it means. I'm just saying.. The Most High is not controlled by man made unctions. Why do you think churches teach people how to know Christ?... Instead of how to let or allow Christ to KNOW YOU?? Huge difference! 😊 I only bring these things up because most have no idea the amount of slander.. So I would like to repeat this passage in scripture. I bear the name.. But am also well aware that Christ will have a New name when He returns. One that cannot be claimed or controlled by the beast or men. Who drags who into court? What do they do? Slander the Name..by claiming "sovereignty" through it. I call THAT lawlessness! They call it "legal". And most churches are all on board. For the love of money is the root of all evil. The Americas..in my opinion.. ARE the Promised Lands written about in scripture. Churches do not teach you this but instead teach you evolution based history. Melchizedek; one of his titles; is the king of Salem. If you google how many Salems are in the world you will see that there are 58..or so. 36!... Almost 40 of the 58!.... Guess where they are?! Here! In North America! Salem..to me is not just a city. It is a land. The land of Salem. I also believe Melchizedek is one of the 2 witnesses; along with Enoch; who has not experienced death yet; who will CLAIM what is RIGHTFULLY his when the 2 witnesses come on the scene. Melchizedek is not Christ. You cannot be someone you resemble. Melchizedek resembles the son of man. America, and its current "sovereignty"...is claimed through force and man made documentation or "doctrine". Pirates really. Just know though...he who lives by the sword (weapon..law..bible) will die by the sword! The double edged sword that comes from the mouth of Christ when He returns!

Even without the Roman laws and social milieu NT hangs his hat on, there has been a resurgence to press Christians to keep the Mosaic laws and feasts, etc. using Sabbath-keeping as the gateway to. Groups engaging in this include Hebrew roots, Messianics, Noahides, Nazarenes, SDA, WWCG, etc. even the pope endorsed Sabbath-keeping to the delight of the rabis multiple times in recent years. There’s more to this effort if you look deeper and it is taught in the Babylonian Talmud and Midrash that the Gentiles will convert to Judaism (with some various opinions of the extent). We see this effort come to a head in Rev 13 with the activity of the second beast (‘prophet’ of the first beast) renewing the Sinai covenant marriage which in the Torah came with the mark/name of the Lord sealed in the head and hand, which will be imitated with the first beast set up as Lord. This is what the rabis anticipate the prophet Elijah will do when he returns, in defiance of the new covenant marriage which Jeremiah said would not be like the one at Sinai, which they broke.

Some notes: _In the Bible the only usage of the phrases “in the hand” and “in the foreheads” are all in the Law of Moses and refer to keeping the commandments, statutes, judgments and holy seasons or days given to Israelites in the time of Moses. The first reference is Exodus 13:9 where it states the Days of Unleavened Bread associated with the Passover were given “for a sign unto you upon your hand, and for a memorial between your eyes [in the forehead].”_ _The word “sign” in the above verse is translated “mark” in its second occurrence in the Bible and it refers to the “mark” given to Cain (Genesis 4:15). The biblical definition of the “mark” (or “sign”) in the hand and forehead is associated with holy days on the Mosaic calendar. The next usage refers to the commandments, statutes and judgments that the Israelites were to perform when they entered the land of Canaan._ _“You shall bind them for a sign [or mark] upon your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes [in the forehead].” Deuteronomy 6:8_ _The third reference is similar to this and is given in Deuteronomy 11:18. The weekly Sabbath is described as such a “sign” (or MARK) in Exodus 31:12-17._ _If we let the Bible interpret the Bible then the MARK (or sign) in the hand and in the forehead of Revelation 13:16-17 refers to the keeping of the Mosaic legislation - its holy day system and regulations for the people of Israel in the land of Canaan. And this is what the Antichrist will subject the world to when he commences his reign in Jerusalem just before the true Second Advent. He will display to the world his supposed divinity, the world will accept it, he will sit himself with great ceremony in the temple at Jerusalem, and then proclaim himself the true divinity come from heaven to reside among men (2 Thessalonians 2:4)._ From "The Antichrist Will Establish the Mosaic Law" by the late Ernest L. Martin. --- In Revelation 13 we have the second beast/false prophet who comes imitating the signs of Elijah to do 3 important things the rabbis expect Elijah to do: 1) Renew the Sinai covenant marriage which in the Torah came with sealing the congregation with the mark of the Name of God in the forehead and hand in dedication of thoughts and works through the Aaronic Benediction as symbolized by the tefillin (imitated by the mark of the beast); _“You shall bind them [commandments per Deu 6.1-7] for a SIGN/MARK UPON YOUR HAND, and they shall be as frontlets BETWEEN YOUR EYES [the forehead].”_ (Deut 6.8) 2) Restore the sacrifices which only those in the covenant (who take the mark of the name in covenant marriage) can participate in with the money-changers and merchants Yeshua threw out (buying and selling); _"And Jesus entered the temple and drove out all those who were BUYING AND SELLING in the temple"_ (Mat 21.12) 3) Regather and number the tribes in a census as in the books of Numbers and Ezra by heads of family names (number of names/number of men); _”Take a census of all the congregation of the sons of Israel, by their families, by their fathers' households, according to THE NUMBER OF NAMES, every male, head by head”_ (NUMBERS 1.2), and, _"..The NUMBER OF MEN of the people of Israel.."_ (Ezra 2.2) These are expected by the rabbis for Elijah to perform before the arrival of their (false) messiah who will enforce the Sinai covenant marriage in defiance of the new covenant marriage announced by Jeremiah who said it would not be like the one at Sinai (Jeremiah 31). Hence, the law is for the lawless (1Tim 1.9) and we know the false messiah is also called the lawless one (2Thes 2.8).

_And their dead bodies will lie on the street of _*_THE GREAT CITY_*_ which spiritually is called S0dom and Egypt, WHERE ALSO THEIR LORD WAS CRUCIFIED._ (Rev 11.8) _The woman [Babylon per 17.5] whom you saw is _*_THE GREAT CITY_*_ which reigns over the kings of the earth._ (Rev 17.18) _”And in her was found the blood of prophets and of saints and of all who have been slain on the earth/land.”_ (Rev 18.24) _”Jerusalem, Jerusalem, who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her!”_ (Mat 23.37) _for your [Babylon’s] merchants were the great men of the earth, for all the nations were deceived by your “pharmakeia”_ (Rev 18.23) Is it a coincidence in Revelation the harlot comes riding on a red beast in the wilderness (the Temple Institute in Jerusalem is preparing a red heifer sacrifice to bring back the temple ministry, which in Torah was prescribed to be carried out in the wilderness/outside the camp like at Mt Olives) and dressed in the colors and jewels describing the high priestly garment from Exodus 28.4-11? The Antichrist Kingdom vid on my list touches on these subjects.

Wha? Where are you getting this stuff? No, Christians aren't "under the law." St. Paul is clear. However, in Christ we "fulfill the righteous requirements" of the Law. There is much to say on this subject, and a good part of Paul's letters are devoted to it. None of Revelation, and certainly not 13 deals with these things. Mainly people in the latter days are lawless, not legalistic. Neither of these positions yields righteousness, no, but: "If they will not hear Moses, neither will they listen if one should rise from the dead." Q: are you even a Christian. Tell me, who is Lord?

This is amazing! I have, myself, written so many things just like this (send me a message, I 'll share freely), but have never heard or seen anyone else so completely correct about American history! "You cannot speak to Liberty while oppressing more than half of your population." TJS. This is one piece every American student must see!

random coincidence, footage of unity events mentioned by Mr Charles in song by Nahko (who is visiting Australia in November), it would be great if Mark Charles could help spread awareness down under as indigenous people here face the same but no light shone on backstory like mark tells especially with his healing solutions wrapped in journey.. thanks th-cam.com/video/E-QGkYNc0Ls/w-d-xo.html

Centuries of abuse framed, carried out, and justified in explicitly religious terms, yet the problem is anything but the religion. You don't get white racism without white people being convinced by repeatedly telling themselves that they were made in the image of God and extrapolating that to also mean that the non-white people who don't look like them were not These ideas are inseparable. This has been a fascinating hour of religious denialism. Amazing.

So true, looking at similar in Australia. Mark is far more aware than people here, nice if he could be supported to speak, raise awareness and leaders here.. will share link to a few key people, after challenging Lutheran Noel Pearson with Catholic Archbishop of brisbane to acknowledge this and Dawn Daylight who was 12 yo slave girl for Nuns at All Hallows across the road.
