Tommy was right. Doc said he had a red hat and then he was instructed to explain why he thought he had a red hat. He explained by saying he saw two black hats so he sssumed he had the red hat. Tommy picked up on that, even though Ed did not, and said he had a black hat because Doc just told him is hat was black. The problem was Johnny told Doc to explain and Doc did and his explanation tipped Tommy off.

Johnny's explanation was ambivalent and not very clear (JJJ)

Amazing how different TV used to be. Talk shows could be quiet and engaging with simple thoughtful conversations. They didn’t need to be a whole loud circus.

It breaks my heart to know these people are all gone. But the older lady and Johnny Carson lived a full life.

The modern-day late night talk show hosts don't have any entertainment on the show . they don't let people sing their songs, play their instruments, or stand there and tell jokes. and they don't have animals on the show. and they don't interview little kids. what good are they. All they do is say sarcastic things n bad mouth Trump . Carson was really good at bringing out shy people and little kids.
