    Complete garbage click bait with awful cut aways. Complete and utter inaccurate review didn’t even bother to get the correct printer on the thumbnail. If you’re in the market for a 3-D printer, it’s like anything else that you’ve taken up as a hobby. This is more than enough for your needs half a dozen times and then never use it again. I got this from my 10-year-old and we love using it. It’s more than what we need. We got the spool kit with it for a total of $350. Again, if you’re just interested in 3-D printers and you are not looking for something that’s essential for creating objects for work or industry. This is more than enough.

    My thoughts exactly! I'm embarrassed for Sunlu for releasing such a poorly designed product and then pushing it as The End All Solution. I've had one for about a month now and it would be useful if you had three hands. As you showed, the curving filament is a nightmare to hold straight and I can just picture people trying to push the button with their nose while trying to hold the splice still. I've looked at the mods you showed and have been wanting to make one. Some of them would likely make this machine very useful. Sunlu should have conceived of something similar and built it into the device. For the price there should have been a lot more to the device. Although I have my doubts that Sunlu actually developed it. It's likely some other companies product, that they designed to be cheap and easy to manufacture with no regard given to usability, and Sunlu pays them to slap their name on it. That's how it usually works.

    • @Gadgetsquared100
      @Gadgetsquared100 26 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I felt exactly the same. I feel like it hasn't been tested on real-world scenarios. I can think of a few solutions where the size would still stay the same and I wouldn't consider myself very creative 😅 I'm sure product developers can do much better. If Sunlu hasn't developed it but are selling it, it makes this a whole lot worse then it is already is 😂🤦‍♂️ Thanks for commenting ❤️

    I just put the z as high as it'll go, put my filaments against the hot block and then push them together in a off cut piece of 1.75mm ID ptfe tube i have kicking about, works perfectly and cost nothing. Once its together simply slide it off when reeling it up. It really is that easy. I dont know why people dont try the obvious first.

    Nice review! Good critical thinking. At £40 for a filament connector, when the value of a short length of leftover filament is about 30p, this is a hard pass for me. I imagine these things will be £10 or less in a couple of years. Meanwhile, maybe I'll just load the oddments in my AMS and tell it to automatically switch when filament runs out.

    • @Gadgetsquared100
      @Gadgetsquared100 27 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Precisely. If this was something like £10-15, I wouldn't be as critical. Some people are calling it negative but its just critism that will hopefully result in a better product. No one should have to print or use other things to make it work. Also, the AMS is a great shout. Didn't know you could do that 👌

      I personally haven't experienced anything like that, but I think its possible if the fusion isn't done right

    • @pirobot668beta
      @pirobot668beta 26 วันที่ผ่านมา

      If'n y'all push the ends together too much, you can end up with a bulge in the filament. I use a Weller soldering iron for heat, 1/16" ID silicon tubing for the fusion sleeve and some Capricorn brand PTFE tubing to test the fusion diameter. Truth to be told, the Capricorn tubing is part of my spool-winder...if a weld can't pass through the blue PTFE, I cut it out and try again.

    Although i can see a use case for other brands and slicers because i dont know if they have the same feature bambu has a setting to switch filiments when one runs out with ams🤷‍♂️

  • @diegoglanz
    @diegoglanz 27 วันที่ผ่านมา

    I feel your final thoughts were really negative. Think about how much bigger the product would be if it came with the external filament holders? it would be massive on your desk. Maybe they could provide and STL file for a better holder (if you desire) but I think overall this product does everything it was set out to do.

    • @Gadgetsquared100
      @Gadgetsquared100 27 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I'm just being honest. The fact that people had to create their own solutions shows there is a limitation in the product. And the solution from them doesn't necessarily have to be big filament holders, it could be ironed out with testing different designs. Glad it works for you but I still think its half-baked

    Honestly, I'm planning to buy A1 mini just to check if I'm into it (I do 3D modeling as a hobby, just never used 3D printer), If 3D printing will really get me, I'll just sell the A1 mini as used and buy something better.

  • @the-snx2122
    @the-snx2122 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Bro seriously? Dont get offended but its called mini for a reason. You can't complain bed size is small, knowing that its a smaller version of A1. And I honestly dont think its a bad screen for the printer that comes just under $200. In my opinion both A1 and A1 mini are too good to be true for the price. Both are almost same printers with same features but just size differences. You are too focused on cons that you missed its core features like automatic bed leveling, quick nozzle swaps, small but useful ai features to notify you if anything goes wrong, not great but bearable camera in the printer to check out your prints from your phone. Its a completely beginner friendly machine with almost no hassle sending files to printer wireless via phone or laptop through bambulab studio. And A1 mini is fully assembled printer in that you can start printing right out of the box. In my opinion its worth paying little bit more and directly buying A1 since it has bigger bed size. However, If you are just excited to enter in the world of 3d printing, and don't know if its for you or not, A1 mini is not really a bad printer for that price.

    • @Gadgetsquared100
      @Gadgetsquared100 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for commenting. I mentioned everything in the video but just gave my opinion on why it's better to go with the A1 at the very least. Taking nothing away from the Mini because it's a great printer.

    i bought the A1 (without AMS Light) on the BF Sale for 300€ and really have no need and also not the space for the AMS LIght. multicolor printing is not something i want to pursuit because of the waste it produces, and when i want to i still can do a color switch manually. i also use the RMFC (Rapid Manuall Filament Changer) to switch my spools.

    • @Gadgetsquared100
      @Gadgetsquared100 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Good point. If you're sure you don't want AMS, makes sense to go without it. I told myself I wouldn't need it but once I started printing, I realised how much I'd prefer it with AMS 😆
