Ex 33R here, was there July 92 to May 93
Devens unfit facilility co homosexual belfre and pedrozza
I was TDY for additional ASA training, June to September 1972, billeted in one of these brick dorms. Then sent to RAF Chicksands in England.
I took my K3 ASI there in 87. It was the easiest training I had, 'We be jammin!'
In 1973 I went to Devins for 05K training. Was assigned to F troop, which was close to the WAC Shack barracks. Then off to Germany where I spent a couple years at border sites. Dets L and K. Great memories. Thanks for posting
WOW so cool I was in the Military Police in charged of guarding this exact area the school-1986-87.
Should mention that I was there for Devens day summer of 2022. Found out from the Museum workers that all barracks are coming down except for the museum( Co.C) soon.
Thanks for putting that up for us to see. Of course a lot of memories being station there twice. So sad to see what has become of the barracks. I did walk around the 3 years ago and saw what you filmed. I looked into a couple windows and saw the floors coming up. ALL the barracks there except for the Museum are a total lose. We still have memories though of a time when Morse Code was so important.
Wow, that's beautiful!
I was there in 1975, training for MOS O5H10. Then, moved on to Torii Station, 1976 and 1977. Memories of long ago!
Same here. Same MOS. Same years. Same places.
2021 anyone?
I went to school here for 05d or 98d from January 86 to July 86.. lived in the quad and really enjoyed the area
I was MP Security for the Intel School Oct 1978 to Dec 1981
Me too,...I was there from Jan 1979 to April 1980. MP detachment, Sgt. Bendel, Major Pignatto, Matoni, Maitland, Kevin Hop, Markel and others,..........
Barbara Suty rip
@@friscofreeze Ya,...I in processed with her, January 1977. I had a car so we went around around post and in processed together,....I am still hanging out with Bobbi Jo Bolding, she lives up here near me.
SF guy...last name Wood? My dad.
Was there 74-75 F Co. Great memories
I was stationed here from 1981 to 1982. Had a great time there and made a lot of good friends. Some of which I just got reacquainted with a few weeks ago. Sure was great seeing them on a zoom call and talking over good times from here. I was in C Company. The building that is next to the mess hall.
I was there 86-87 Charlie company too. 33 r training
Thanks for the memories. I was in Delta company in 1972/73 for ASA 05K training. Shipped out to Shemya after that. I remember the WAC company across the quad - company G I think. Hundreds of guys and gals away from home for the first time, in their late teens / early 20's, across the grass from each other. It was more like college than the army. It was generally a pretty base. Good memories.
Makes me sad. I spent March-December 1964 there in Training to become a 286.2 Intercept Equipment Repairman. As Top of my Class I spent January-March of 1965 at NSA Ft Meade and then to the 3rd USASA Field Station and JSPC at Torii Station, Sobe Okinawa home of The 51st Special Operation Command. That MOS became 33D40 and I progressed to SSG E-6 33Z80 and served later at Vint Hill Farms with the MSC in Warrington VA near my boyhood home. I did many TDY’s at Two Rock Ranch CA, Chitose Japan and in Korea with the 400th SOD of The First Special Forces Group.
I lived next to the quad in Bldg 669. MP barracks.
Holy crap so did I! 98 Delta. Emitter locater identifier. 1990 1991
I was there for 05H school in 1987. Good times...
Great video. I was stationed there in 79. The close up is where i was
Do you remember a SF guy Wood....
Breaks myheart to see that unmowed grass....I can hear more than a few 1SGTs screaming right now...haha
Well, I guess I’m the old fart on this thread. I was at Devens June 68 to March 69, when I shipped out for USASAFS Shemya. (On later to FS Sobe, Okinawa, and HQ 509th Group, Saigon.) This quad must have come after me. My entire time was spent in the old wooden barracks of the erstwhile 2nd Bn of the Training Regiment. ETS’d November 71. Got a 4-month early out from Vietnam.
No not the oldest Ha Ha. I was there in 64 and65 5th infantry division
H company was there in 86-87
AHHHH... Ft. Devens, MA. I was there from Sep 74 to Jan 75. Trained in the USASA. We got shipped to two places.. Korea or Germany. Mine was Korea..USASAFS Korea. Thanks for the walk down memory lane.
Rickster -- That'd be the 751st MI BN at Camp Humphreys. I was stationed at Devens in 1981 and in Korea in 1987.
left there dec '82. my room was the far left window on top floor @ :30.
SF guy...last name Wood? My dad.
@@jasonwood3197 nope.
big tree at 0:37 was also known as "the boot eating tree" bc it was full of boots thrown into it by departing course grads.
Thank you he had a repelling accident in 1980 and fell a good bit!
2bn 10thSFG(A) here in the early 90's.
Was there from 85-87 with 46th CSH....I remember when we moved from one side of the Quad to the other
Thanks for this. So many great memories.
I was Meddac 81-85
Revere Hall. Your basic diitty-bop school, third floor. Spent hours screaming "di-dah ALPHA". Luckily I was slated for 05K. That walk back to the barracks (quad) was a bitch at midnite. The WAC's got to ride a bus. Was also an instructor later on in Hale(?) or Allen hall. I guess the debriefing stuck cause I don't remember, at least for another 20 years. Damn, getting old.
Looking forward to seeing y'all on the 28th in Scranton. Andrew Birds Bowl of Fire does a great version of this song.
My dad was an instructor there. 88-91
I went to school there from 88-89
Thanks for the video! And be sure to check out parlournoirjazz.com to see where we're playing next! Much love, Parlour Noir.
Served here with the 382nd PSC from 1977 till 1981.
SF guy...last name Wood? My dad.
85 -86 46th Combat Support Hospital
Spent a lot of time in that building..
You were standing down by What used to be Delta Company. I was a 33Q and in Alpha/Echo (First Building on right coming from Parking lot) Co April 86 - May 87. Charlie CO which I think was given to the Navy. Bravo was given to the Airforce. Lots of good times in that Quad and the Base..I wanted to go back there just to see the place..
I was in Charlie company 86-87 33R training C co. was still army when I left. See any helicopter watches while you were there LOL.
I was a 33Q also. '89-"90. that was a long A.I.T.
Nice catch
Sad..That place was hopping when i was stationed there.
I was there 88 to 89
Remember forming up on that parking lot
How did you even get in there? 46 CSH here from 1985 to 1986
It was converted from a Fort to a town and taken over by the state of Mass in the mid-90s. Later on, the Army cordoned off some buildings between the barracks and the school and re-established a post, but it's only a few blocks long and appears to be more reserve-oriented. The old Navy barracks is an office building which hosts the Devens Museum.
pat97vette I heard my old unit is now part of the cordened off section. Place looks sad..too bad. It was a fun place.
It was a very memorable place for me and it felt good to go back and see things before the buildings fell down
Mine from November 1972 until March 1973.
Wow, you guys are awesome!
what was all that stuff before the lindy
Hey! There was another video of them doing the Pancake. Do you still have it. Or know the link to someone who did post it??
