Welcome to Comics with Dan - your place for comic reviews, comic discussion, and all things comics!
I lean towards indie comics for my reviews, but still love covering DC and Marvel comics as well.

I really need to read Space Ghost! Always fun to hear an interview with David Pepose. I'm definitely interested by In Bloom, that creative team is solid and I've enjoyed Pearson's art on previous books like Mindset which was wild. Really unique style. Well done on your second one of these, you did great!
Thank you! Yeah In Bloom surprised me a bit to be honest, it's worth looking into for sure! Thanks for watching, Joe - I appreciate the support!
@ComicsWithDan glad to hear nice thanks!
LOVE your review. But one HUGE, HUGE, HUGE suggestion? As you're reviewing a book, PLEASE SHOW the interior artwork and panels of the book you're reviewing MORE! It goes a super-long way in helping someone to buy a book or to become a new fan of the comic book series itself. SO many comic book fans have been burned by this dog-old trick from numerous comic book companies: "gorgeous front comic book cover but consistently awful artwork inside the book itself.". Besides, as another legendary space hero said it best when anyone is trying to convince someone of something: "We human beings are extremely visual creatures, we need to see it to believe it. To see it for ourselves, for our species, means to...to... better feel it."-Captain James T. Kirk, Star Trek: Gold Key Comics
Thanks for the tip and thanks for watching!
Dan, you're an awesome speaker with an amazing narrative voice.
@cornbreadthedog wow, thank you very much - I really appreciate that!
Awesome debut!
Thanks Joe!!
Nice haul. I think JL and Void are the 2 on your list that I was most looking forward to reading. Long Cold does look interesting.
JL was a lot of fun! There's potential for Long Cold Winter, but I was a bit disappointed. Thanks for watching!
It makes sense batman forms his own team since he butt's heads constantly with hal Jordan, argues with wonder woman on some occasion, and the others that don't fully trust him.
It's a cool series from what I've read! From what I hear, the latest Outsiders series lost its way a bit but I do love the idea of Batman forming a separate team!
Great interview! I really need to read Hexagon Bridge.
Thanks! And yes, you do! The trade is out now, get yourself a copy!! Thanks for watching!
Great interview! Greetings from Poland!
Poland!! So awesome! My great grandparents immigrated to America from Poland! Thanks so much for watching!
@@ComicsWithDan I could tell there is some blood bond between us m8!
Richard is more Italian than me and my name's Luigi ffs
Haha he does love Italy! I believe there is an oversized Italian edition of Hexagon Bridge (I know there's a French one). Have you read the book yet? Thanks for watching!!
@ComicsWithDan yeah I read the Italian edition, it's very well made and Richard's art looks incredible! Also great interview Dan!
Thanks so much!
First like from Egypt. I'd like hexagon bridge comic.
Egypt! Sweet! Welcome to the channel! Did you collect the single issues of Hexagon Bridge or the trade paperback? Thanks for watching!
Saban superheroes are my fav Next to the avengers.
Nice! Did you get a chance to read Power Rangers Prime #1? If so, what did you think?
@@ComicsWithDan yeah it's great to see the vr troopers back.
@christopherwashington2417 you're not the first to say that - where should I check out previous appearances of the VR Troopers??
@christopherwashington2417 oh I just realized it's a separate show! Nice!
Very excited for the trade of this, great review!
Thanks!
Honestly i don't mind the lack of morphin because it's not what i look for in these types of superhero stories (For someone who watches a lot of transforming hero franchises like Kamen Rider, Super Sentai, Ultraman and Garo) i actually prefer character interactions and the story moving forward over the dopamine rush of seeing cool transformations for the sake of it
That's 100% fair! I didn't mind it either, but I know some people may get disappointed. I also prefer the build up to the adrenaline rush!
Bro Organize displays 1to3
Do you mean on the playlist??
VR troopers 😁 this will be great, other super heroes in the power rangers universe
After reading/watching other reviews, I feel like I've missed some callbacks to other series! Should be great though!
Awesome interview man, thank you! Loved how comprehensive this was, Frederik's art is so cool!
That retro style is just unmatched! Thanks for watching!
@ComicsWithDan agreed, and ofc!
Sounds interesting and cool, thanks!
You bet!
Whooooo Hoooooo! What a great choice for a first episode!
Thank you! Frederik is the man, and his art rocks!
It was an absolute blast to talk to you man, turned out incredible! Thanks so much for interviewing me, it was a wonderful time!
I had a great time as well, thanks so much for taking the time!
Love it! Stoked to check out more stuff. Love the art from Frederik Hornung, def going to check out some more.
Glad to hear it! That logo of his would look good on a Whamblem 👀👀
Looking forward to it!
Thank you!
Oh awesome idea!
Thanks! I just keep coming across fantastic artists that I am amazed aren't big names yet!
Hope you enjoy ASM! That was a solid breather volume. It was great to hear what you thought about some of the DC All-In relaunches.
I'm excited to dive in! And DC All In is off to a good start!
Dang I have been meaning to work on a logo
Go for it!
Love that Dan's Mom is still concerned with what he's reading lol excited for this !
She's a nice lady 😆
34:21 Luana Vecchio blew me away with Bolero , that is a must read
The Orlando story is called "The Foster" and I tell everyone about it 35:56
Thank you so much for the kind words Dan, it truly means a lot! I agree: Taylor knocked it out of the park!
Loved your work! And yeah, I honestly don't intentionally read all of Taylor's books, but I end up doing so - he's great on everything.
Thanks for taking the time to read our story DYING FOR QUIET, Dan! Glad you dug it!
Loved it! Felt very classic!
@@ComicsWithDan Thank you. Elijah, Jason and Taylor crushed it. So impressed by their work.
They did, but don't sell yourself short! It was an extremely relatable topic!
@@ComicsWithDan Thank you, Dan! That means a lot. I SOOOO relate to the topic! =)
Hey man, sorry about the comment earlier. I have never gotten a negative review before and I found it funny. But I came off as a jerk, so my sincerest apologies! I appreciate you reviewing the book, even if my story wasn’t your cup of tea! ☺️
You got it - you're clearly very talented!
@@ComicsWithDanthanks so much!! Good luck with your channel! ☺️☺️☺️
question, in batman the dark knight, what kind of mechanical grip did he used in the beginning when he fought againts crane?
Oh you mean in the movie when he bent that guy's gun?? I had never thought about it but my guess is some kind of hydraulic in his glove. Makes you think that Batman had a mechanical hand, huh??
@@ComicsWithDan yeah that one, it looks cool though, i thought that was one of the batman mechanical glove or whatever, because batman used that to carved open the crane vans like it's a can opener, at the same time it can become like weapon for close combat aswell.
A great point. I always thought he used the blades on his gauntlet to carve open the van, but I haven't watched in awhile. Maybe it's time for a rewatch! Thanks for watching!
Awesome!
Thank you!!
Finally read this and yeah I agree, it rocked! Nice review.
Thanks! Yeah it was a blast, glad you liked it! Next is Absolute Superman 👀
@@ComicsWithDan next is Wonder Woman and then Superman, both very exciting though 👀
Oh you're right! That's even on my pull list 😂
Awesome stuff! Glad you like it and thank you for recommending us!! You're welcome for the "Comics with Dan" WHAMblems, thank YOU for the support!!
Absolutely!
I found this video for the first time and somehow recited it word for word
Well, the "genius, billionare, playboy, philanthropist" part is from the Avengers movie 😂 but otherwise all OG!
When I first seen the cover before it dropped I didn't get excited about it but it did not take long for me to decide to pre-order the book I am glad I did, this goes to show that sometimes you just have to give a title a chance and I was defiantly not disappointed with this issue.
ABSOLUTELY! At first glance, I was a hater of the bat symbol, but it has grown on me, AND the book rocked!!! Thanks for watching!
I was disappointed in this book… … 375 lb … 6’5 … and supposedly a bat? He’s as big as Brock Lesnar with an iron skillet on his chest. …. And he still don’t kill…👎🏻
Sorry to hear that! Dude is brutal though, no doubt about that! Thank you for watching!
@@ComicsWithDan anytime… can’t wait for Batman Full moon!
@dope_comix4455 that's a tempting one! Barnes is a good writer but I thought his recent Star Wars Inquisitors series started out great but ended poorly. Love the concept for full moon!
I know right! Seriously he's a bad ass he don't need no I don't kill rule
A fair statement, but dude chops a guy's hand off with a battleax!! What a legend. Thanks for watching!
what is the clapping sound in the backround
Turn signal! This is part of my Comics Commute series, where I talk about comics on my drive to work!
@@ComicsWithDan that makes sense
I just listened to Comic Book Couples Couseling podcast interview with artist Nick Dragotta and something just downed on me: Absolute Batman is pretty much "What if Bruce Wayne was raised as Clark Kent was?". And "What if Joker was Lex Luthor?"
Oooh that's a good point! I like that comparison!
I'm looking forward to reading this
It won't disappoint, it's a total banger! Thanks for watching!
@@ComicsWithDan Word up!
They Marisa-Tomeied Martha Wayne. Is your mom single, Bruce?
Sick reference, and they sure did!
My expectations were SO low for this. I was very pleasently surprised.
Glad you liked it! I was pretty hyped, to be honest haha
I read it as well. It's really good but i got to give it time before making might judgement. I did tell Scott during his Midtown Comics signing last night
I just had so much fun reading it!
@@ComicsWithDan Even better the second time you read it.
@IzzyVerseNYC I may need to go back through it again then!!
My favourite issue so far. I can’t wait for Moltar in the next issue 🔥
Read it the other day and it's a good one!! It'll pull on the old heart strings, that's for sure!
Thanks, man!
Oh absolutely! Excited to get into more of your work!
I read the synopsis for the first volume and the premise of Haven in a gang war genuinely sounds so good. What sucks is that with Nightwing I like to buy full physical volumes so I’ll have to wait until July first.
That's fair. I think there's some series that just read better that way, and this seems like one that will read well in trade/hc!
Only just realised it's Dan Squared when I started watching this, nice! 😆
My little joke of "I have another Dan" was so weak 😂😂😭😭
@@ComicsWithDan I did the same thing when I had another Joe on so don't feel too bad 😅
Just finished this, great interview! This was fun
@JoeLovesComics thank you!
Looking forward to seeing his work on Nightwing, should be good! Thanks for sharing this interview with us Dan, appreciate it.
Yep, definitely one of my most highly anticipated All-In books! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the insight, fun to hear this!
No problem! I had a blast at this panel!
Thanks for sharing this really cool panel. Very informative and great to see the appreciation of the artists for their craft and one another.
Thanks for Watching! You're right, the appreciation each of them had for one another was one of the coolest parts.
This is good for new comers
Thanks! That has been my goal for this series of videos!
He is the best at what he does, but what he does isn't very nice😂
That's right, bub!
@@ComicsWithDan 👍🤣
Great interview. "We Are Comics"
Thank you sir!
Nice! I really need to read this eventually.
Absolutely you do! It's fantastic!
