After hearing about the release of the full size FN509 at Shot Show I decided to pick one up. This will be another firearm I'll try to keep everyone up to date on as time passes. While less exciting than previous firearms I've featured I think there will be some useful information to pass on.
Comparing the WCP320 and the M1811

Today I compare the Wilson Combat WCP320 and the Brouwer Solutions M1811 grip modules for the P320. I bought the M1811 on a whim and ended up liking it so much I ran it through a couple of Classes and Competitions. I have roughly 2,000 rounds through the M1811 and about 4,000 through the WCP320 and have flip-flopped between the two over the last year or so. I don't think you could go wrong eith...

I never had issues with the stock striker. I bought it in 2021. I used the training bullet when dry firing just like the manual taught me.
Facts Snap caps are Underrated!
Wilson Combat can not be beat to me 😊
Even when I look at the Mil/LE side of their website I can’t find the SKU for this all black one. Can you tell me what it is? I’m only able to find the 2.0 with the new serrations in FDE.
Never mind, I found it it’s 12664 but they seem to be unobtainium at the moment. I’ll keep checking Gunbroker, but I think I’m just gonna settle for the FDE long slide for now. I’m gonna pair it with an aluminum frame from the 2.0 Metal.
Nice vid, just subbed. Heard there is a tiny internal spring that makes these guns drop safe and it may not always be assembled properly from the factory?? And that apparently even cleaning the gun could mess up this spring too?
great review video. Unbiased and real talk.
I put a Jentra g41 tungsten guide rod and overwatch striker/trigger and SCS and my p10 is the best shooting pistol i have, absolutely love it.
Kill the background music. It's annoying.
I like it. But yes. Could be turned down a little
Hi, i am an Argentine Shooter, i have a czp10F. Can you please list the accesories installed and the vendor names? Thanks!

Spent $500 for P10 f or sr and little disappointed. Trigger isn't the way I expect it. It more like glock than walther or canik.
2k rounds out of the p10s and I’ve not had a single malfunction
I'm at 2500 only upgrade is overwatch striker and trigger house. No malfunction and I've run everything as I'm looking for an edc. Hard to beat a cz
@@ryanjones1071I'm at the same round count but have it fully stocked. No malfunctions either... looking forward to the next 1k rounds thru it. I love that pistol lol
Thanks because I have the p10 s and been thinking about carrying it because I love the way it shoots over my g19 and 43x was thinking about grabbing another CZ or 2 because of the p10 s I’m not putting 10,000 rounds through it because I have a few other options but great information
@@popgfk9989 absolutely fam, It (to me) marries the performance of the larger models, with the concealability of a 43x or glock 26. with the buttery slide and incredible OTB Sights. would recommend to anyone, reliability is insane, I just shot like 8 different ammo types just yesterday and it ate em all lol
Appreciate the review. Can’t fully attribute any issues to the gun itself when changing the internals. (I’m also not a gunsmith by any means)
@@kddhd9704 I didn't change any internals on the F until after it started having issues.
@@wild_reviews8789thought you said you changed the trigger?
@@kddhd9704 correct, I only changed the shoe. I left all the springs stock.
I spent that money. Firing pin broke First range trip. 😂😂😂😂. They fixed it hard for me to edc it now because of that

@@wild_reviews8789 lol man I'm trading it in. I'm not dealing with that. Looking at the fn 509 or I might just get another PDP
@@Precocktrigger I have a video up comparing all of them. All good choices, hopefully it helps.
@@wild_reviews8789 thanks
@@Precocktrigger I understand your worry although keep in mind no brand is exempt from having a one off. I had a brand new blue label Glock 45 that needed about 250 rounds to be reliable. I look at it as if I find an issue early and fix it especially sending it back to the manufacturer It's more confidence to carry. I have a couple thousand rounds through two CZ P-10s and I have had a striker break yet. Even through dry fire. Also strikers are cheap and easy to replace 😉
Thanks for sharing your experience. I own both models as well, but have not put this many rounds through them yet to notice these issues. I have an OP trigger and NP3 striker on the C since I carry and shoot it a bit more than the F. I’ll have a look at the OEM striker and see if I can spot abnormal/excessive wear marks. Subbed! So now you owe us a video on the CGW striker 😁
@@parunbelhomme I'm only a sample size of 2, but keep an eye on the striker. When it wears down the CGW striker is your friend. I'm 90% sure the Overwatch striker is an NP3 coated factory striker.
Interesting Regular guy training took his p10c past 50K and didn’t have any striker wear issues mentioned. I have about 4200 in my p10c. 2500 in my p10F. Had a couple light strikes from cheap ammo. Overwatch precision striker and trigger.
@@andershilmo1866 You might want to watch his recent Glock review. He states his P10 would apparently go full auto.
@@wild_reviews8789 Great I will check it out. I was planning on getting a new striker anyway. I dry fire plenty so it will be to my benefit to look into it. Thanks for the reply. I appreciate it.
I had watched a lot that vid but not all of it. Finished it a bit ago thanks for the heads up. For me I shoot 4 or 5 guns when I hit the range so at my rate I probably won’t hit 10k on any of the guns any time soon. Probly will build a range gun copy of my edc after I hit 5 k on my carry gun. Good stuff sir.
You should throw the echelon into the mix and see how it stacks up 🤙
What kind of holster are you using for the fn 509?
I don't have anything for it specifically, so I use a Phlster Floodlight
Can we hear how much noise in the trigger group bring loose?
@@thomaswaibel253 it doesn't make a noise. Without the take down lever installed there's some perceivable wiggle in the Wilson while the Brouwer is solidly in there.
Hi friend, do u have ins account?
Where did you get that Yukon Cornelius sticker? 😂 Great comparison 👍🏼
Defense Mechanisms sent me one with my order.
The HLX is awesome.
Thanks for making this review. Have been using SKU#11828 + Apex trigger for about 3 years and the gun is great as a carryable competition gun!
Totally agree with you on customer service and gunsmith, I emailed Ian and he's extremely helpful on what he can do, sent my compact pro back after 150 rnds, it was painful at range visit, I was shooting 115 grn Remington green box and every single shot did not cycled with any of 5 mags pistol came with, to top that off, when I got home and disassemble the gun, inside the slide was so worned out it looked like my 65 year old colt 1911 I inherited from my dad back in 80s, inside magwell was so dinged like I've shooting 20 races back to back but only less then 10 mag exchanges(total of 150 rnd), I sent it back, they had it for two and half weeks until I reached out to Ian and he said gun is ready to be shipped out, and unlike what I expected, they said inside the slide is normal wear(I have thousands of rounds through two of my Staccatos with absolutely no wear) and magwell was all dinged out and they didn't touch anything. Pistol still fires single shot and has to be racked every single time to cycle. I will order a new magwell from them and try to trade or sell this disappointment of a "modern gun".
In regards to handguns, I prefer to keep the mag release on the left side and hit it with my index. As for slide release, I run enlarged designs like what is found on CZ-75s as my index easily locks and drops it.
As a southpaw, I run the ADM UIC. Having been an AK, ACR, Bren 2ms, RDB runner, I like the lever design. Like the sig spear, silencerco, griffin, etc. I don't find it that hard to reach and I don't have large hands. I do agree that the lever should be mirrored.
I’m a lefty I only buy fn and Glocks 😂😂🤔
CMMG is so far the best ambi mag release I've ever used as a lefty. I tried the fcd mag release but like you said they put the button way too far back that it was unnatural for me to reach back to it
The cmmg works for me

Great video. I’ve been wanting a video that shows all of these full-size pistols with lights and red dots for visual reference. Good explanation of your thoughts and grading process. I wish I could have them all
Fun video. We have versions of all these pistols, and I have to admit, after shooting so many guns, for so many years, they are all kind of bleeding into each other. I don't know that I have a preference between them anymore. Really cool breakdown and points system. Keep the vids coming. Subbed.
Thank you for the video! i am looking for a slim grip, which one is more slim? tried to look online but hard to find the info...
@@ckchiu1939 the Wilson grip is slimmer than the Brouwer. At their widest point they're roughly the same but the Wilson contours in and back out while Brouwer is a consistent width.

Hello sir! Quick question! Trying to look the sku number on gunbroker just to see. Did you just type it in the search box and a listing popped up?
yes, I copied and pasted straight from the S&W website to the Gunbroker search bar.
On your OA2311 video I heard you mention getting the 2022 Fn hi power optic cut. GOOD SIR…. If you know someone who can do that cut please pass that info 😂 mine has been waiting in the safe for 2 years to get cut 😂
MK3 Firearms does. They'll do trigger work and a light rail as well.
I am considering buying one of these pistols. I can't seem to find out what the "matte black" finish on the slide is. Do you know? Is it similar to Cerakote?
it's more of a Black Nitride type of finish
Thanks for the video. Wish the Wilson Combat would work with the Cali Compliant M18, so been checking out the Brouwer, which I believe is compatible. Yeah, Cali BS sucks, so pray for us who choose to fight the good fight here.
Don’t know if you will see this but I figure id ask. I was wondering if the Brouwer grip palmswell is thicker than the stock m18 grip? Thanks for the video!
I'm not 100% sure but I believe it is.
I Ponder the Gat wayy to much lmao.
Wilson’s doesn’t feel like a 1911 at all imo even though they say it’s supposed to. It’s also far too thin for my tastes. The Brouwer fills the hand perfectly, it has the best pointability out of all the polymer grip mods and it’s also of sturdier build quality. The stock texture isn’t great but it’s usable. I’ve been throwing self adhesive hockey tape on all my pistols regardless so it’s not a big deal for me but their laser stippling looks fantastic. It’s the only grip mod that naturally gives me a high grip. I also cannot stand the side panel designs on the Wilson. Makes it look like a BBQ gun a boomer would rock in a leather holster to me lol. If they offered a less flashy side panel texture and a Large version that filled the hand better it’d be much better. I’d still grab the M1811 probably.
can you use normal 17 round magazines with a brouwer magazine well?
Yes
How about the 21 round?
Yepppp
Great comparison
Thanks for the comparison! I love shooting 1911’s, just ordered the Brouwer with magwell extension for my CA320.
The hammer follow is because of the excessive return to battery, (recoil spring) its bumping off the sear. The sear might be getting damaged or on the far end of an acceptable spec.
I’ve been having a magazine insertion and catch issue as well.Like you,I initially thought it was the mag catch.Upon further inspection I found that the ejector is contacting the magazine rear lip.I’ve contacted Oracle Arms and I hope to send it in for repair.

Oof. Sorry to hear about the issues. That’s the chance one takes when you try a model new to the market. Let’s see if they make this right or if they go belly up.
Curious as to why you swung the gun all around when the hammer didn’t reset with a live round in the chamber. This gun is a pos
I was verifying what kind of malfunction was occurring and that the gun was fully in battery. The camera angle may be deceptive but the gun was pointed down range within the confines of the booth the entire time.
@@wild_reviews8789ignore the troll, man
Sorry but a review of a modified pistol that is malfunctioning likely because of the changes makes little sense. A stock unit review makes more sense to give potential customers a better sense of the advantages and disadvantages of the gun.
1. It wasn't a review 2. I changed the recoil spring by 1lb, I'd hardly call it a 'modified pistol' 3. Look at my other videos
