    Hello, great video. Thank you for sharing. I just planted a very small weeping white spruce. I have 2 medora juniper trees (small as well). I'm wondering if I can plant them on either side of my weeping white. Or should I space further out and plant emeralds beside the weeping white spruce and the medora's on the other side of the cedars?

    Actually researching how to plant and grow a lilac bush, I ended up on your channel. Back in the 80s in Boston every person on my street had a lilac blush! You never see them anymore these days and I still think about the lilac bush we had in our backyard. It was my first experience with fragrance and I love the smell of lilacs to this day the fragrance is so nostalgic! So I thought hey maybe plant a lilac bush,, but I’ve never planted anything in my life so this should be comical!

    This is great! Thanks for the video! Ive been looking to get this globe petite tree to plant near the foundation of my house next to the basement windows to deter cats from pooping there. Is it Ok if I prune globe spruce to keep it small so it wouldnt block the windows completely? How much water does it take? Im afarid with frequent watering my basement would get moist. Apparently the foundation of my house was not wrapped. How close to my house can I plant this tree? Thanks

    Great video! Thanks for sharing. I’m planting three trees in a row: a Kwanzan Cherry, a Kousa Dogwood, and another Kwanzan Cherry. I only have room to plant them 10 feet apart. Can I prune them once they start growing into one another or should I opt to only plant two? I’m buying trees that are 3” in diameter, and I’m trying to balance achieving a little privacy more quickly with knowing they will be 15-20ft wide once mature. Best of luck with the channel. Hope it blows up!

    I plan to move a bunch of large lilac runners that are about 1" thick and maybe 8 ft tall . The area needs thinning , and I have a perfect long area that needs a bunch of these to make a fenceline . My neighbor also has bee hives , close to the fence line I plan to make , so I figure the bees will love these ! After seeing yours did well , I feel good about moving these . I have done some small runners and had success , but always wondered how larger ones will do ?

    The tapestry is great! The round rocks, though, seem (to me) to be somewhat overwhelming - the tapestry is almost lost among them. While the tapestry itself is excellent and the variety of succulents used are perfect, I think it would look better if a smaller stone - gravel or lava, perhaps, surrounded it so the succulents don't get lost in the view.

    • @grownbydesign
      @grownbydesign ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you very much for watching! I agree and generally would not use river rock in an installation like this. In this case, the river rock was already here and the homeowners wanted to use it instead of bringing in new rock. My first choice for this installation would have been 1 inch black lava but in the end I am still very happy with how it came out!

    Hey looks great. Can i ask, how much do the 6" and 1 gallon material generally cost in your area? I do the same thing as you here in Northern Bay area CA and I struggle to keep my costs down while installing large tapestries. Most nurseries charge high prices for full size succulents. Thanks!

    • @grownbydesign
      @grownbydesign 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Generally, I expect to pay $6 for 6”/1 gallon succulents at wholesale and $12-$15 for the same plant at retail. Large tapestries do get quite pricey even here in San Diego where succulents grow like weeds and can be found cheaply. How much more are you paying in the Bay? Thank you so much for watching!

    • @PuertoricanPatriot1
      @PuertoricanPatriot1 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@grownbydesign Thanks for your reply. The standard up here is $5.00 whole sale for 4" succulents and $10 or $12 for 1 gallon. The 4" aren't really usable for tapestries and often time the 1gallons aren't of a sufficient size. I suppose the costs are similar. Your specimen are just larger for the price. Like the big echeveria rosettes that you planted would easily go for $20-$35. Same with the mangave

    • @grownbydesign
      @grownbydesign 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow, that is a significant price difference for the larger echeverias. I imagine that makes doing projects like this for clients significantly more difficult!
