Hi, if you have a 4 hole amps plate on the end of your gooseneck mount, then all you need is 4 4mm screws. You will find there are 4 holes in the bottom of the IC-705 that will line up with our 4 hole amps plate. I have the goose neck currently for a KX-2 sidekix ayyachment. What adaptor can I use for the 705 to atyach to the goose neck? You may say the goose neck is not suitable for theb795 due to thebweight. Mine is "very" stiff, so I would like to tru since I have it already bolted to my seat. Jist bougjt the 705 so I want to be ready. Manybthanks for you hreat videos.😊

The following is meant as helpful criticism: Suggestion, when capturing video with any camera, especially a cell phone always orientate the camera horizontally (landscape), never orientate it vertically (portrait). Every TV screen, monitor screen, computer screen, movie theater screen (AKA wide screen theaters), is orientated horizontally never vertical. In videos when the camera is vertical (portrait orientation), then played back on the aforementioned devices the left one-third, and right one-third of the screen is cut off, causing the video to appear as tall and narrow stick video. We humans, maybe all lifeforms, view our surroundings more horizontally than vertically. Orientating a cellphone or regular camera vertically the video produced is similar to looking through a tight vertical narrow keyhole or wearing horse blinders, again not good nor how we experience our world. In addition, when held vertically, to view the entire scene the camera person must pan more left and right creating too much camera movement; not good. Because us humans view our world more horizontally, a video captured vertically becomes spatially disorientating.

Re-engineer this to attach on the back side of the headrest or make it switchable front/back and I'm a buyer. Great idea!

What base in the vehicle does this mount to?

Can the speaker mount arm be reversed to the bar that mounts on the headrest be mounted behind the headrest posts instead of on the front side? This would allow the speaker to be a little further back. Also, any plans to release on that will allow for two speakers? One on each side?

I wish you all would record your videos in landscape "horizontal" mode and not in portrait "vertical" mode. It's so aggravating and irritating...

For wiring this up I would assume you would follow the contour of the seat and maybe bring the wire down through the center console. I like it though cuz I have a hard time hearing my radio in the car if it's a handheld

Good information on installation I have a 891d and a 500 and it was very helpful. That being said, it is scary that in this day and age you still don't know to shoot video with a cell phone horizontally. It also very scary that you don't do quality control on your videos to catch this issue. Do you have the same lack of quality control on your products?

I know I'm late to the party but how does the radio (I'm using an FTM-100) mount on this OR is the answer to my question a "speaker/mic" and the faceplate detaching cable? This looks like a 2-week late birthday present to myself. Edited for my stupidity. A simple solution is an external speaker, which is fine because the stock FTM-100 speaker isn't all that great. And guess who also makes a nice external speaker? Happy birthday to me! 😁

Back in the 80’s in the heyday of cellular phone installations, I was creating custom mounts for a lot of the European cars that high end customers had and wanted a special mount for the control head of the old AMPs phones. Yes even used the gooseneck microphone extensions with custom made plates to mount some units. Black heat shrink tubing was a good friend for covering the chrome. If the mount flexed too much we even had a treatment for that which worked wonders. Those were some good old profitable days!

What screws? Just got my cup mount kit but there were no screws in it.

I use my cupholders for drinks..

Well done presentation. Description of parts how they assemble is appreciated. I cannot find this information anywhere on the Lido website. I ordered and received a LDM-LM-300 from DX Engineering for my Icom ID5100. Super strong arm. Good quality. Instruction for bracket parts identification and assembly was a photocopy of a photocopy of a picture drawn by a highschool artist. Although the assembly would appear simple and straight forward, length of bolts (too long, would not allow the control head to seat properly) and nuts recessed into round holes (not formed for the eight sided nut simply spins in the hole without tightening) required re-fabricating to make it work. Also, the bracket attachement supplied was for the control head ONLY. forget about the mic. Lido provides a hook for the mic with no place to land it.

ALL of the Lido stuff is top notch! Don't be afraid to drill holes as needed in the aluminum brackets. You can touch up the holes with a permanent marker pen. I have an 891 with a Yaesu remote speaker on a cup mount on a Ram 2500.

I just received a LM 300 goose neck mount for my FtM 200 yaesu I've got the mount installed but can't seem to figure out how to mount the control head with what came with the kit Any suggestions appreciated 3:15

Every time I see a mobile install of the 7100 it's a "radio on a stick" or velcro to the top of the dash setup. They should have stuck with the IC-706 style control head. The table top style just looks out of place in a mobile.

Where do you mount the microphones?

Just found your channel. Currently have a Yaesu FT-8800 on the LDO-LM-300 (the whole radio, not just the control head), but I'm planning to install an FT-891 once I figure out where to mount the radio separately from the control head. Vehicle is a 2002 Nissan Pathfinder. I'll go ahead and separate the control head on the 8800 as well. So available options is what I'm researching. Great information, great video. Thanks!!! 73 N5NUK.
