Do you think maybe over the last year since covid mandates dropped, parents started trusting sending their kids back to school? Is there a direct coorelation to drop in attendance to COVID? Keep medical procedures out of schools. Not educators wheelhouse to offer medical procedures in the schools such as COVID injections.

Oh how I wish I could've been there for the final walk through. I attended Mt. Hope from September 1963 to June 1969. Principals: Miss Knapp, Mr. Tyler. Teachers: Mrs. Frances, (Ploof), Mrs Edward's, Miss McQueen, Mrs. Pearson, Mrs. Shaver, Miss Hodge. It was a great school/neighborhood to grow up in!!! I can't leave out Mr. Steve Simons, our janitor/custodian. He was our neighbor across the street. I always wanted to see the Fall Out Shelter down below too!!!

I am looking at this wonderful building and asking, "Why isn't this being remodeled?" Too many times, we knock down old and build new. This building could have the updates needed at a much less cost than building a new school. After being in public education for 41 years, I have seen many dollars spent on projects that were really not needed. While I am not privy to the decision to do this, I am still not convinced this was the right thing to do.

Congratulations, and it will be wonderful to see the new building. The old building was beautiful in many ways and will be missed by many. The new school will be a great asset to students who are ready to learn and teachers who are ready to help that happen! I am glad to have been a small part of this school's story.

I graduated from Sexton in 1991, and I remember him very well. I miss that school so much and miss all the teachers I had.

RIP Dr. Carnegie you are going to be truly missed and I was thankful to know him when I was going to sexton the prayers go out to his family.

So, when can we expect the actual CALENDAR to be released?

This should have been a 1 paragraph press release and posting on the district website instead of 12 minutes of self - congratulations. Summary: PD days are switching to Friday from the current Wednesday plan, and Thanksgiving will be a week long break for students with 2 days of remote PD for staff.
