I am 67 years old and 17 years later I am still suffering from night sweats, insomnia, hot flashes, short term memory loss, brain fog, itching, moodiness, etc. I began my quest for relief with an inadequately diagnosed estrogen patch/oral progesterone combination. After some trial and error with totally insufficient doses (despite all the bloodwork)the first 5 years into menopause, I did some research. I read Suzanne Somers’ then groundbreaking books, with little else within my reach. I requested, a switch to a compound-pharmacy HRT cream based from yams, but I either did not absorb it well, or I was simply still under-prescribed. I believe I was red-flagged at my OB/GYN doctor’s office initially because of my family history. 1)My beloved mom died of ovarian cancer @ 55. She had had a partial hysterectomy, but was left with one ovary because she was clearly “suffering from depression”. She was given Premarin without the necessary balancing progesterone. I think my poor mom was simply doomed, a sad victim of the times. Additionally, 2)my paternal grandmother had breast cancer (but lived another 20 years after a successful mastectomy). With so little science-based evidence at the time, I could almost understand my doctors’ apprehension to prescribe at higher levels, but I was MISERABLE. I was consistently ignored for over 15 years at the practice I once so loved during my childbearing years. I finally convinced a different doctor in the practice to prescribe at higher doses with my compounded cream after my HUSBAND joined me in a meeting with her. I am convinced that having a MAN with me gave me a louder voice, but I am still suffering with hot flashes and night sweats. I am so frustrated with the lack of research for women’s post-menopausal years. I have found a new gynecology practice that was recommended by a 71-year old woman I met yesterday, very happy with their diagnostic abilities and dosing in her case. I look forward to finally BEING HEARD!!!

I feel your frustration! I can't imagine how hard it's been for 17 years and to still be suffering. It's a slow process, but I believe things are starting to turn around vis-a-vis HRT and how it's being prescribed. I really hope that this new practitioner will listen to you, and give you the help you need and deserve. xoxo

Hello Debbie! Immediately subscribed when I watched this video. I get so excited when I see other women talking about menopause. I'm trying to make a habit of doing this routine every morning. It really does make a huge difference in how I feel, and I'm usually more likely to exercise throughout the day if I start out by loosening up! If you could post an evening routine of about the same length, I'm sure many of your fans would appreciate it. Most of the bedtime routines I've found are too advanced, and they focus on one type of exercise (such as forward bends, which are irritating to a bad lower back).
