Welcome to Wooded Lake Adventures, our TH-cam channel. The main focus of this channel will be detailing the adventures we undertake at a property we purchased in the Pocono Mountains region of North East Pennsylvania as we develop it into a retreat location for our family and friends. We'll also feature videos of outdoor activities we undertake from cutting and splitting firewood to hiking exploring the woods to finding hidden creeks and waterfalls to riding ATVs and anything else we may undertake.
113 - Cutting a Socket Holder
As the pole barn comes together we are bringing more and more tools out there. We need to start organizing them. What a better way to do so than building our own socket tray?

We collected cut-offs from a local saw mill. As is they're too big to fit in our stove so we're going to cut them to length so they can dry and be burned.

We've got an old chain on our chainsaw that has probably hit the dirt a few more times that it should so today we're going to try to sharpen it.

I seems like it's struggling, if you plan working on a pole barn, invest in something that has more power, it'll save you the frustration of not having the power to sink the longer screws and or bolts plus have a few extra batteries on hand
Love having brushes for my drills, i end up cleaning stuff i normally wouldn't

How did the first section hold up to full truck loads of stone?
No issues thus far with more trucks of rock and concrete trucks going over it.
@@WoodedLakeAdventures so not ruts forming? I saw some said if you drive on just fabric it would rip. Also wondering how well you think it will be a weed stop?
If you put the fabric down over mud, there will be ruts from the rock trucks (they are 80,000 lbs) when they deliver. After we spread out our base rock however we didn't have any issues with ruts. The fabric didn't rip driving on it with the trucks or skid steer. It will sink into soft ground, but once you put the base material down the fabric keeps the rocks from sinking into the mud and with a decently thick layer of rock there is no more issue of mud, ruts, etc. If you hit the fabric with the bucket's teeth while taking a scoop of material, you can rip it, if you're careful your fine. I couldn't really say about weeds, I would think it would stop them, but I'd reach out to Vevor if I wanted to know for 100% certainty.
So it drains well and blocks weeds? Do you know thicknesses? How long are rolls?
We don't get a ton of weed growth there as we are in the woods. Water drains through without issue. The rolls are 14 feet wide (folded in half, so 7 feet), the ones we used were 108 feet long.

No, that's an extra piece they sell. We just purchased a cheaper one from Home Depot or Walmart that was a similar size though.
Looks great!! Ever consider some drains before you pour the concrete? Floor drains for easier wash down, and maybe a drain for future toilet/sink/shower.
Yes. Unfortunately this crew needed to finish their assigned work and move on to the next building. Once they finished their work, drain lines, vent lines, and conduit lines were all run by a third party contractor as this company doesn't do that.

Wow! Was the beaver the one swimming across the lake or the one that attacked whatever was swimming across the lake? What was the other animal?
Footage isn't the best zoomed in, but it is actually just a single beaver. Towards the end he slaps his tail on the water and goes under, many times this is a way to warn others of danger around (like us in the kayak possibly).
