JR九州 SL 58654
JR九州で活躍してきたSL「58654」。1988年に奇跡の動態復帰を遂げましたが、残念ながら2024年3月で再び静態に戻ってしまいます。動画は1999年および2000年に撮影したもの。「SLあそBOY」と「SL人吉」として走ったシーンを合わせて編集したものです。
SL "58654" has been active in JR Kyushu. Although it made a miraculous return to normal activity in 1988. However, it will go to sleep in March 2024. The videos were shot in 1999 and 2000.

タイ国有鉄道では数両のSLが動態保存されている。これは2010年の「タイ国有鉄道開通記念日」（3月26日）にバンコク～アユタヤ間で運行された特別列車の復路。SL重連で運行され、汽笛の吹鳴がデュエットを奏でるように行路を彩ってくれた。 A special train operated on the anniversary of the opening of the State Railway of Thailand on March 26, 2010. Operated by two steam locomotives, the whistle was as beautiful as a duet.

東日本大震災で被災、8年間不通となっていた釜石～宮古間（55.4キロ）の鉄路が復旧した。2019年3月23日には記念式典と記念列車が運行され、翌24日から通常運行も開始された。 この区間は今回の運転再開と同時にJR東日本（山田線の一部）から三陸鉄道に移管されている。三陸鉄道は従来の南リアス線（盛～釜石間）、北リアス線（宮古～久慈間）と合わせ、盛～釜石～宮古～久慈間のリアス線となった。営業距離は163キロ、第三セクター鉄道では日本一の長さを誇る路線が完成した。

Hi what kind of material
Thank you for watching! The terrain is paper clay & model powder．The track is for N gauge (KATO manufactured in 1965)．Trees are natural materials, Raiken, powder for models．The vehicle has a paper body and a wooden roof.

What a great accomplishment at such a young age. It’s amazing how it can be stored upside down. And that Asahi looked good too! ☺️. I think I might have had a beer or two when I was in high school as well 😮.
That picture is after I graduated from high school. However, drinking under the age of 20 is illegal in Japan, so it was bad! The place where I took the picture was the dining car of the Shinkansen. The dining car is now obsolete.

I have never seen those techniques before. I understood most of the process even though I do not speak or read Japanese. It looks somewhat labor intensive but the results are well worth the effort!

It’s amazing what you accomplish with just basic materials that are readily available. The wet paper and glue construction technique you demonstrated reminds me of the paper mache method I was taught in art class. I only wish my projects were half as good as yours! Vinyl copolymer resin emulsion type adhesive. A very common paper and wood glue.

Beautiful layout! But ruined by the steam engine not having the chuff-rate correct. FOUR CHUFFS PER REVOLUTION!! Ruins the realism and makes it not fun to watch the train running through your stunningly crafted layout. Sad.
