Since you are riding on city tar roads. Secondly while riding your feet in the stirrups should be in front and toes up, heels down. Please follow this and you should be more comfortable. You both are bumping on the horse's back while trotting on the city tar road. While trotting if you cannot do up down then you have to transfer your weight from your back to thaies so that neighter horse's back of your back will not pain. In fect you should have a qualified instructor advice. Good luck
