Nice to see you Rachel! I think your stitching plans for this year are very attainable. I am focusing on WIPs this year as well and I am excited to meet my goal of getting 6 of my projects finished throughout the year. I am a product stitcher through and through! I’m so glad I’m not the only one who’s not into romantasy. I don’t mind a little romance but dear lord I want to know how we’re saving the kingdom not how many euphemisms the author can fit into one spicy scenes.

I have a BIG mistake in my head. I mean no offense to anyone. I’m sorry I’ve been gone so long Rachael. I can’t tell you how long. I can’t count the days, weeks, or months. But I really feel as though it may have been close to two years as that’s how long I’ve Been bed bound. It was shortly after the big C. I’ve had it 3 times and now live with long term effects. That on top of already existing issues. I must say how proud I am of you for all you’ve accomplished. I love Miss Cherry Blossom! She’s so beautiful. Don’t worry about your mistake. We are often our worst critics. I so no mistake. I’m happy to be back watching. Keep up the great work. I too just got back into reading after a couple years. I love Howl’s Moving Castle. That Book is beautiful! I will start Lore next. I’m currently reading Bruised Sole by Graeme & Robert Parker. (The Hoof GP) you may have heard of it. It’s very good so far. I just finished Green Light by Matthew McConahey and Promised Land by Barack Obama both on Audio as I like the way they tell a story. They were both very good as well. In the Fantasy area I just finished The Bone Witch by Sarah J Mass. it was good. On my plate I have two diamond paintings that were started and have been waiting. And I have 27 New projects kitted up and now 2 more pending. 3 long dogs. 1 wip . And a house of boxes to go through as well. As Devon’s mom passed and all her possessions came here. On top of that and being sick I lost my baby girl Autumn. She was a golden Retriever. My support animal who helped with my anxiety and depression and other. And I lost my support kitty, Bb. And my best friend passed as well. My heart is so broken. I don’t think it will ever be better Rachael. I’m sorry about your house issue. We just had to refinance as we bought our home brand new 23 years ago. But this year during the hottest part of summer, our A/C went out. It was 98-102 degrees Celsius out. So when you do that you also have to replace the furnace. Not a few days later, living in tornado alley, a big storm blew through an blew down two sides of our fence and part of our deck. And now we can’t open our patio door either. And the size of door we have, they no longer make. To put the cherry on top. Election Day!!!! I say no more. And they say 2025 is going to be crazy. Please No more! One more thing… I’ve seen a few people making their cross stitch a project that they have to get so much done on each wip each week. It’s when we start putting constraints on ourselves that we come to resent what we are doing instead of enjoying it. If you are no longer enjoying a project, evaluate whether it’s still enjoyable and important enough to you to continue working on. If it’s not, sell it. Someone else will love it. It’s not a bad thing. We all change.🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸

I've missed your flosstube updates! I've wanted to digitize all of my fancy ladies and paper patterns, but I never know where to start with them in WinStitch. It's kind of overwhelming. What do you do to get the process started?

Halloween at hawk run hollow is on my 2025 start list. Have you ever done an informational vid of pattern keeper? I’m interested in learning how to use it, and if it’s worth the time. I listen to audiobooks while stitching, and it really helps me focus n the story, and my stitching. So that is a good way of getting reading and stitching done at the same time!

How do you digitize your paper charts? 😊

I love Earthsea and all the Ursula K Leguin books. They are wonderful. Good luck with your adventures this year.

You were my gateway/intro to the world of FlossTube so I will be a forever follower. I turned 60 yesterday and remember being 40 like it was yesterday. Embrace the joy. Projects that you want to hang on your wall - focus on them. Projects that you enjoy stitching, savor them. You can do both. Your loyal followers will watch regardless.

My stitchy bug left long ago for knitting, but I want to make an effort to get some stitching done this year. I think I'll try to do some focus work during the 24HOCS weekends this year. Have you read adult romantasy? You mentioned "doing everything because of a boy," and while that does happen in some poorly written romance, it's very much not that way in a well written romance. Especially in something like romantasy where there's supposed to be world building and an external plot. Most good romances show how people come together in a way that's better than the parts and support each other without codependence and still having lives and motivations that aren't just their romance. The whole "doing everything because of a boy" sentiment is often a line used to belittle romance because its something targeted to fems, often from people who have read very little actual romance. Not saying that's you, the problem is when it's used that way a lot it leaks into public perception. Just want to challenge the perception you have of adult romance and romantasy because your other books mentioned imply that you really like the romance genre. Especially since Howl's Moving Castle is one of your favorite movies and that is absolutely a fantasy romance. And Lore Olympus is a romantasy. I love special editions! I am subscribed to Fairyloot's 3 book combo box and I also picked up their Howl's Moving Castle. And I influenced my sister, who doesn't get special editions typically, to get one, too.

You inspired me to do Twisted Rainbow Sampler which was the piece that got me back into cross stitch several years ago! It remains one of my favorite finishes. This video was like visiting old friends. So many pieces I remembered. If you ever want to sell your beaded cottage I am in and in the meanwhile there is an English company that is now doing beaded kits. I have four! I started cross stitching in 2020 and started a whole lot of projects because I wanted to do everything and I wanted to do it now. Four years on I now know what I love and I am working through finishing my projects with very few new starts. Eventually I will have just a handful of projects. Well that is the plan!

I just started cross stitching a few months ago,and I am loving it.Hello from Hungary.

The paper charts that are hard to read i take to my local office supply place a d have them enlarge it for me. Works beautifully

Life happens and some projects are definitely ones to need the right mindset on. This year I wanted to get 70k+ stitches into my HAED…yea…not happening…I’m like 10.5k done. But family things and pet things have sabotaged my efforts for the HAED this year. But I’ve got plenty of easier projects that also need work, and I’ve had 12 finishes (mostly smalls) so it’s working out. I’ve had 8 starts so I’m finishing more than I start which is helpful too…but the start itch is trying to get me to scratch it. Maybe if I don’t cut fabric down I’ll be less inclined to start all the things? And this is a prime example of how busy life has been…I’m like 3 weeks behind (some videos are watch whenever so not counting them as behind on) on my TH-cam watch list and have 228 videos in the queue. Can I get down to 215 using 2x speed today? I caught up on 2 floss tubers (only a few videos or short ones) so yay me? But trying to do a mix of longer videos and shorter ones to try & get the total number lower but not feel overwhelmed by all long videos at the end. So after your wip parade, I think a few 30-40 min videos, toss in a couple 15 min ones, then a few hour long ones, perhaps just complete a few more flosstubers so I’m up to date on frequent posters. Choices choices… But first, the obligatory pause on the parade so I can go do dishes.

The Bell Flower is so beautiful. Wish I had that pattern in my collection so I could do it one day. I have so many HAED myself that I need to work on XD Most of my projects are BAP. I so wish I could be able to buy the Namarie Tapestry and the fabric... hopefully one day

Gah, I love your fabric for New Normal! That pattern has been on my wish list for awhile, so you're really tempting me to start it... I'm a BAP stitcher as well. I'm realized that I don't have many small to mediums, so I might need to alter that, hahaha! I also envy the way you can get rid of plans and WIPs. I'm so behind on some plans and I've fallen out of love of some WIPs, but I can't make my head get rid of them, bleh! But thank you for a great video!

I abandoned WIPGO as of last month. It's not that I couldn't keep up, it's that I had put projects on it that I didn't want to work on and half my board was new starts. I decided I didn't want to do those new starts anymore. I have found myself drawn lately to single color samplers like Long Dog Pandemic and You Belong To Me as well as the Ink Circles Elemental Dragons. So I decided to concentrate on what makes me happy right now, and those are making me happy.

Hello Rachel! I have a question. For the Gaia Earth Goddess that you’re stitching, how many threads are you using and on what count of fabric? I’m wanting to start mine soon and I noticed it says use three threads for 14/28 ct.

I started out as a diamond painter and that’s how I initially found you. And you are the one that inspired me to get back into Cross Stitch! The first piece that I did was twisted rainbow sampler after seeing yours. It remains one of my favorite stitches. I also bought and kit it up, but have not yet started, the Japanese Zen Garden by Chatelaine. I am a little intimidated by this piece, but will start it at sometime. I can relate, my nose is running so fast, I cannot catch it. Beautiful projects. I started one in 1984, it’s still not finished lol. All I need to do is put the back piece on.
