Thanks! It’s a B Augmented. I voice it like this: 7x788x. Basically a B7 chord (B D# F# A) but with a sharped 5th (the F# is raised to G). 🤘

Thanks! Upgraded to the Lollars, and also changed the wiring to Emerson Custom, added Emerson Custom Treble Bleed, and upgraded the tremolo and bridge to a Mastery Trem / Bridge system. Got it used, 3500 knocked down from 4500. No idea on neck binding. Yes! Fish makes awesome stuff. I was very impressed with it into an amp that’s gained up a little bit, as well as into a clean amp. The reverb is from the Benson Tall Bird tube reverb unit (now discontinued, I believe) which looks like a second amp head sitting on top of the Benson Monarch head. I use it in the effects loop of the Boss Waza Tube Amp Expander so the reverb gets added post pre amp / power amp gain staging, and pre-speaker cab so it stays nice and pristine. 👍

I’ve got another one which is a custom shop (much higher quality guitar that held tune well, and sounded decent with stock pickups) and in that one I’ve got the Righteous Sound RAFs (A4/A2 magnet). @@EdgeofBreakup Thanks! I'll give it a listen too. I've got an SG Standard with the stock 490R/T that I'm considering swapping out for something clearer. Running through an old AC15, and the 490s just get a little muddy at times.

I’d highly recommend an El Rayo neck, and perhaps a high wind imperial bridge! That’d kick ass together.

Yeah I’d say that’s pretty accurate. The extra heat on them in terms of output makes them clip sooner, rounding off the edges/peaks a bit. You may also consider a lower output neck like the low wind or standard Imperial (or the more single coil-like El Rayo model), and the use the High Wind Imperial for the bridge.

Hey there! First of all, thank you so much for the kind words and for watching the video! Just wanna offer some guidance because this video is about Lollar’s High Wind imperial humbucker, which directly implies higher output, which will push your amp into overdrive sooner (not ideal for cleans). If your goal is pristine articulate cleans for your musical style, you’re going to want to ask Lollar to make you Low Wind Imperial or Standard Wind Imperial 7 String Humbuckers, not High Wind. In checking out their product page, they don’t declare what wind rating the 7 String Imperials are, so my guess is they are Standard Wind, which would be fine for you. I still would pick up the phone and call them on a business day and inquire if they could make you a low wind set, or what they would recommend for your style. Hope that is helpful!
