Portage Glacier: 30 Years of Change

Portage Glacier Cruises celebrated their 30th Anniversary on Sunday, June 30. In those 30 years, staff have witnessed the recession of the #glacier to where it is today. On Sunday, former staff joined current staff aboard the MV Ptarmigan to eat cake and drink sparkling cider just 300 yards from the face of #Portage Glacier.

Scientists and citizen-scientists lined Turnagain Arm on Saturday, September 15 to count Cook Inlet beluga whales. NOAA Fisheries, The Alaska Zoo, and other organizations held the event to increase public understanding of belugas.
