My only gripe is that the forward cabin is too tight. With a beam only 8.5 feet, it should be the width of the boat, from bottom to top.
Sam has been an inspiration to my boat building adventures since 1997 when I stumbled onto his designs. We spoke in 2001 about what I wanted to build next, and he gave me some suggestions and encouragement. I would love to build a Surf Scoter 22, cruiser version some day.
Lo les entiendk 😂😂😂 no ablo estados unidos 🤢🤮
Wonderful person....❤
👍🚤
Jeesh all the numpties scared of walking 2 secs in the rain between cabins. It's a great boat. Quirky, yes, but there is clearly a market for it. Nice presentation Geek, thank you.
None of these people should be going to sea if they're made of sugar like that. LOL!
GEEEEKS IN THE HOUSE
Thank guys...again very informative
What a fascinating interview. She's really something!
Sir i am student of university of Faisalabad in Pakistan i need fee help can you help me???
Fabulous information, thanks for sharing it!
Why is the music so damn loud? I want to hear you.
Great job, Sean!! You've got a great media presence: so at ease and inspiring! Nice color coordination between your shirt and shades, too. 🙂
Whoa !! That’s my Niece . Well done Abbs
Well done Abby, you done good😊
Perhaps these videos would be a bit better if everyone would lose the sunglasses & keep the equipment out the way of obscuring faces. Great audio quality, but abysmal visuals during the interview parts.
Thank you for the feedback. Equipment was purchased when we thought we were going to be an audio-only podcast (2018), but we're saving for better mounts that have a low profile to eliminate pretty much all of the blocking. Unfortunately they're $400 each, so we're not there yet.
@@theboatgeeks - Good to hear that. I've enjoyed listening to the interviews!
LEGEND
That little 5th largest county in the UK!
Would be amazing to work with Sam on some screwball ideas one day. We have so many! Great episode guys.
Wouldn't it? Thanks! We'll be getting to your episode soon... :-)
Modern materials done right.

Sam is truly an inspiration.
Great interview! You mentioned I should check this one out, and you were right. And it was great meeting the 2 of you at the Wooden Boat Festival! I definitely show off the cap. 😊
Glad you liked it. Awesome meeting you, too!
Great stuff! Always good to talk to Race Boss.
Race Boss never disappoints!
Love you guys. And really love peter knowles. Snd i think Andrea is getting used to the camera and mic . She seems more relaxed.
Thank you! We think Peter is a really cool guy!
Beautiful boat 😍😍I will buy this over any princess 50 yaughts👍
I am from Australia and yes mostly coastal. Down there we have our harbours and bays and waterways but nothing like the PNW with the calm waters of the Inside passage. I boated from Sydney up to Queensland, outside the heads it gets rough.
Peter was so helpful with my own 1949 Monk 40 footer. His personal advice and episodes of his show really helped me with owning and restoring my first big wooden boat. Now I have skills that i have been using on my new (to me) 1980 Grand Banks 42 Classic. Thanks Peter! and great show Boat Geeks
Glad you like our show. And glad Peter is such a great guy! Have fun working on your GB42.
Am i the only one that see's an issue with... walking across that deck through pouring rain, rocking boat, to get to the bathroom? Add to that back and forth through rain if you are at dock just to go to bed? imagine trying to winter in that thing?
You have mentioned the ONE big thing many folks have issue with the boat. Those that own them, however, still like the layout. To each their own, I guess!
@@theboatgeeks well it really depends on where you use it. In the med sea, Florida, Texas, California, with moderate to hot weather year round. Stepping out to the bed or bath isn't bad. Maine, north Atlantic, Alaska, Great lakes, where you get storms, cold weather, ice, rain, etc. Having to gear up to cross could get hard. And its designed limits a Bimini over the middle to protect you
…dont forget being fine with guess having to use the toilet at night. Not sure what the innovative design is about. It’s more or less a polished version of a traditional Danish fishing vessel, but at the same time being impractical for commercial fishing. Sure look’s nice, but what a odd boat.
Cool little motor.
The middle would be a well deck, the stern is not a cockpit. No helm.
Matt you should consider this name for your boat L’ETOILE Du Nord, “ Means, Star of the North “ it’s on the original Minnesota State Flag !
I knew MC Matlock when he was a non-rate. Always a stand up guy! Hell of a coxswain and LEO. "PB GUY" unlike any other
When it came to running SAR cases (when we REALLY ran em) he had a pair of brass b@]]$ for sinkers, boat fires, working in the shallows, you name it! If you ran things that way nowadays, you'd be relieved. There again...the crews are soft compared to back then
We think he rates pretty high, too!
Hi, these are very cool boats and thanks for the video, but you really need better audio - I can't really hear it. Cheers.
Yes, before anyone says it, I am old..lol
LOL So are we! And yes, we have finally invested in some better mics for on location work. Will handle wind much better, too.
Tally ho project
Yes, that’s quite the project. Nice to see Leo out sailing the Salish Sea.
Another grandstander knowing jack what he’s talking about. Please, irrelevant people, shut the fuck up and stop wasting everybodies time.
2 things 1: people get invested in reality tv type of content it surly doesn't hurt that you found a recognizable boat 2: you dont need to do a sailing lifestyle channel you can do boat projects/ and actual sailing
i have watched from literally the first episode and i can't believe its already been 2 years
One of my newest concerns!!!! With all boat construction design Cruisers ect: FIREs - Batteries! Batteries have changed!! They work way better! BUT!!! They catch on fire a lot easier!!! Fire and boat is about as bad a horror story that one can think of. Saw one Catamaran that had a flooding battery compartment? That looked interesting? I’d like to see many of these Marine TH-camrs talk about it with solutions and remind Cruisers think about this scenario! A fire at sea is unthinkable
Good points, but even today's marine lithium batteries present little fire risk. Battery controllers have come a long way, too. But you're right, no one wants a fire at sea.
you should meet ocean capable small sailing craft channel.
Built in the Netherlands!!!!!!!
I missed him last year at PT. Hope to see him this year! Love his show. Great podcast boys! ❤
Thanks! :-)
Legend. Great podcast boys
Thank you!
Great job, guys! And thanks for the helpful, educational info, Rick. We love our Valv-Tect here in Tacoma.
Congratulations Matt enjoying seeing you on the boat geeks. So glad it showed up so I could watch and listen to you and The Geeks!
City Name ❤
Great, all the inconvenience of a blow boat without the ability to SAIL it.
Thank you all for a great podcast and sharing your story. Would love to see another video about conducting simple (if any) quick checks we can do as boaters to check our slips for current leakage. Troy & Kati. Shelter Bay
Thank you! We agree that it would be really helpful to quickly check the water for stray current. However, it's not all that easy, or actually even safe. That's why the Electric Shock Drowning Prevention Assoc. recommends NOT swimming in marinas. Here's their statement on swimming with "green light devices": www.electricshockdrowning.org/esdpa-position-statement-on-green-light-devices.html
I love it and think I would get better use of the center cockpit, then typical rear cockpit layout, especially underway. And I would never feel comfortable catnapping in the V-berth doing solo trips even if the berth was right below the helm, so having the main v-berth sleeping cabin seperated from the rest of the pilothouse and saloon wouldn't bother me at all. In fact kinda like the total separation and privacy of the main sleeping berth if you had a guest or kids spending the night while anchored. Also, it doesn't show in this video, but the center cockpit engine access would facilitate quicker easier maintenance without dragging oil and dirt into the pilothouse. I love this layout.
The Duracell videos stand alone in their quality, aesthetic excellence, unique videography, and musical scoring
