Sorry to hear that 🙁 I didn't know it was a difficult plant but I've never actually looked into it tbh. I've got it in a humidity dome now to isolate and then I'll see what I'm going to do with it.

Thank you! McColley is on my wish list and so is the Cast Iron plant! The Cast iron is near impossible to find around here though at the Watering Can we finally found smaller ones for $70 so I might be going back for that. Where did you find the variegated or milky way?? I might need to take a road trip in your direction 😅 We plan to get out Barrie way in May to check out a couple nurseries for my summer plants. Our favourite nurseries are The Watering Can in Vineland, Belgian Nursery in Breslau (near Guelph), Holland Nursery and Harpers Garden Center in Dundas, Ontario.

@@Scatteredsprout I got the variegated cast iron from marketplace on Facebook but the Milky Way was at our local Freskiw's a nursery in Greater Sudbury. They can be expensive!

@@jorats I have yet to purchase a plant online but I can now see why ...some plants just can't be found around here! So the search continues 🙂 Maybe one day we will get out that way and check it out...I think we will drive just about anywhere for a nursery 😅

Hi @jorats sorry I did not see your comment :( We found those at Holland Nursery (in Dundas On. ) which is part of the Garden Gallery Nurseries with multiple locations. We fell in love the minute we saw them :)

How are you finding it? I'm on my way there as well. I have to order proper self-watering pots then I will start with all of my Alocasia's, Maranta's, Calathea's (yes I know, Goeppertia) and ferns. I'll have a look for Crystal Star's Mineral mix, we love their other products that we purchased separately to make our own pon. Thank you so much for sharing!❤

@@Scatteredsprout All my plants are thriving, doing much better in pon or leca. I only lost one. The variegated schefflera. I should have transitioned it to water first and taken the time to allow the roots to get "water" roots first. My alocasias especially are loving it! I have one left to transition and that's my over 5' money tree. I'm waiting for warmer weather so I can bring her outside and use the hose to her roots. She's a big girl. lol The best part of it is that you can water them and then leave it for over a week or two. I have a couple of self watering pots but mostly nursery pots with reservoirs and several non draining glass pots. They all work fantastic.

@@jorats Amazing! I've seen similar results in those I've transitioned, especially my Antheriums so I am excited to do the others. I've seen many transfer their alocasias and calathea's to just water (like your glass jars) so maybe I need to rethink my plans 🤔

Hi! I'll have to look at the video again but the variegation definitely has the famous "constellation" type speckling! They do have an online shop and some pretty good sales. If you do make the trip, be sure to call ahead to make sure they are open because their schedule varies.

Haha thanks! I 100% feel your pain. I'm now trying to think of creative ways of making more room for my plants. Most go outside soon, but after summer they will be bigger 😬 Sorry to hear about your tortum 🙁 hope she recovers quickly!

Oh I'd love to see a pic! Yes you can prune, but be careful not to take more than 25%. Cut those out of control leaves just above the nodes to encourage branching and fullness or you can prune below the nodes and propagate. Think about the shape you want before you start snipping 🙂

@@Scatteredsprout I'm sorry I don't. A villarorium however has extremely narrow and long leaves. Almost suede like.

So true! I have a video idea coming up of the story about my big Monstera, honestly I didn't even know what she was, I just rescued a plant from my office that was closing. Now she is the love of my life 😍

Thank you so much for watching ♥ They are beautiful plants for sure! I tend to keep mine in nursery pots and the cache pots as well. I wouldn't recommend terracotta for these plants but using it as a cache pot is perfect.
