I see stories of people detoxing from social media and all. So I kind of have a question (no one will see this anyway), I have Snapchat and it’s the only way to “talk” with my friends outside of school. Except for that one friend who doesn’t have any social media so I have to speak to her on gmail😂. Should I or should I now delete Snapchat?? I don’t use it very much and it’s the only social media (except yt) that I still have but I have my friend (of 2 year) on there and we can never see each other. Even tho we only send pictures, i still feel close to her:( Help 🙏🏾
She said that while recording 😂
Let’s be friends <3
So TH-cam isn’t classified as social media ?
god i wish i had quit social media six years ago when i was 15. i feel like i've really wasted so much of my teen life just midlessly scrolling. but now i'm 21 and i'm feeling really inspired to give it a go now so i can live my 20s to the fullest!!
Won't you upload any videos? 👀
I appreciate your talk Tash, you are very very inspiring. Unfortunately, as humans we are wired to have this FOMO (fear of missing out) and deleting social media makes that fear intensify for a short period of time which keeps us falling in the "I'll download it and use it productively" or " I'll control myself this time" rabbit hole. Thats okay IG as long as you're not lying to yourself (most people do). I used to be really active on Instagram and Discord but not anymore really (at least I don't consider myself so since I've deleted them). It's honestly fascinating how our minds are hard wired to just not wanna slip out of addictions its genuinely crazy. Nice to meet you btw, my name is Yousef 👊
day 3 without social media
Which social medias have you deleted?
My goal is this 💕
Serve God with social media
What does social media actually mean? Like I deactivate my insta for like several months from time to time... but I can't just back out from yt because I have to attend lectures too and I can't stop using whatsapp because several important messages come from there. And I genuinely want to stop using social media.. anyone please help me out. What should I do? And how?
I think it is too impractical in life in this very moment of time, because things are overtied to these communication tools
@@success3693 exactly. And for me the problem is that when I open yt to study then I just casually open some other video and then I found myself stuck in that loop of scrolling and not studying. I wanna change this thing but dk how
@@kirtitomar2962 that doom scrolling is such a thing you need to get rid of
The think she said about knowing people through social media. It's so true. We see all these wannabees on social media & think that's who they really are. Such a false sense of judgement & a false sense of self. It's my 3rd week.
Hi I’m just wondering if I should tell the people that I usually talk to in social media that I’m deleting it
Thanks so much for this true testimony of how is it really like to really quit social media
Thank you!
I can feel the aura from your eyes and face. I think you are leading a minimal, clean, peaceful life as much as you can.
🙏🏼🕉️
I love this video, will you post more soon? you could post what a day in your life without social media looks like or some sort of vlog type video if you wanted :)
im a digital artist and take a lot of inspirations online, so i have socmed. but then i get distracted lol
I quit social media too for couple months but, actually, I don’t remember for how long exactly but I really feel right, inwardly, my life became better and I see no reason to redownload it anymore
I'm from India and you??
Can you be my friend?
Beautiful❤ im quitting it too.
Great video and i love how real you are. I am not ready to quit social media just yet. If anyone uses an android phone theres an app called "lock me out" which has been game changing for me. Ive been using it for a few months now. It's completely free and you can block certain apps/sites at particular times of the day and also by location. So when im at home i block SM until 11 am and i also block news websites until 5 pm. The news is really depressing these days. There is a lot of good in the world which includes spending time with friends. No point getting sad over something you cant control. We have to limit our social media and news consumption to have any chance of being happy in life.
One month ago our wifi is cannot fixed and ı have been in real life, ı felt the air smell and the weather is more shined ❤
So what are the apps you deleted and what are the apps you left? Like is TH-cam and Pinterest fall under those categories
I deleted, Snapchat, Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook and rarely used TH-cam 😊
I knew she’d have an AUS accent even before I clicked on the video for some reason haha. I do think social media gives us too much insight on people’s lives. We used to live our whole lives not knowing what our friends, family, and fav celebrities ate for breakfast.
Amazing🎉
Beautifully said
I’ve deleted pretty much all my socials but I feel like I’ve fallen into the TH-cam trap
Life without homework:
this is how I'm tryna be
Thank you so much for this video! I’m currently in highschool and I’ve realized how lonely I am without social media, I have no friends I talk to or I felt a bit empty inside not having people liking my story or commenting on them. It’s my first day off of social media and I never want to go back to it. I’ll come back to this video everytime I have the urge to redownload it. ❤
Wow good on you!! Keep close with family and try to be around people that love you😊🩷🙏🏼 let me know if you need any help, cause I was in high school too when I deleted it
I have this really big deactivating cycle and its been pretty difficult do you have any tips for me to get off of it forever, i have also been cyberbullied on snapchat.
Make sure to come back to this video everytime I want to download social media
i can relate to this video so muchh i quit social media a year ago and this video is making me more excited for whats next in my journey because i definitely have passed the wanting to go back feeling i feel so at peace without it but the fear of being the odd one out at college is what made me watch this
I have an idea. You should create a blog/newsletter/website/podcast (minimalistic and dopamine friendly obviously) known as "Generation Zerenity" where you team up with various other disconnecters and discuss and share your journeys and ideas. Six years away from social media gives you a lot of credibility and we definitley need more rolemodels in this area, especially in your generation.
Thank you! This has actually given me so much inspiration, I will really consider this !
@@Tashorange You go girl! Out of curiosity, do you do any form of spiritual practice like meditation or similar? I don't want to sound like someone who sells snake oil but your experience sounds like a textbook example of what's in Buddhism is referred to as the progress of insight. It could be that you've had some sort of nondual insight by erradicating a lot of suffering from your life and quitting your socials. I'm a meditation geek myself and heavily biased here but if you want something to do with all that spare time, getting serious with meditation would be my number one priority.
Thank you! Yes I do a lot of mediative practice, I feel like I use this to make decisions and really feel through life. I would completely agree with what you’re saying, insight to stay pure and balanced 🙏🏼 I haven’t really ventured a deeper look into Buddhism, but I’ve read a lot of Taoism and that I do enjoy practicing😊
using nokia 105 from last one year. Life is back to nostalgia. I feel more focused, more confident about what I know and what I don't know, sudden mood swings have gone. feel good but it is still hard as most of people are busy connecting online rather than in person.
I LOVE this!! Thank you for sharing 😊
@@Tashorange In India we can also do payments without internet (they call it mobile banking), we dial *99# to get the options for transferring money.
@@Tashorange TH-cam is also a social media platform lmao xD
1 month w/o social medias as a challenge, installed em back i realized how toxic and fake it is and uninstalled em back. I decided to quit for good, focus more on my life; travellig, read, being productive
One thing that makes you understand that she definitely hasnt been on social media for a big while, is the way she articulates her speaking. She's extremely weel spoken, and doesnt use the tiktok "slang" that is killing eloquency these days. I love you, thanks for the video.
Thank you!!❣️❤️
@@Tashorange i had deactivated instagram for 7 months then I reactivated for 2 months posted some pics again i was sad because of likes counts then again I deactivated 😂 I hope one day I completely forget about social media
Yes. Nailed it! Our world needs more of this ❤
Thank you!
going in 13 years. just felt exhausting and fake to me
*on
Wow!!
hey, first of all you are so cute and the way you express your feelings are amazing so please do not stop uploading, as for me it's been a while since I have deleted my socials, I do not know how it's going to be in the future but I hope for more clearer mind and getting better everyday.
Thank you so much!
This was really helpful
I deleted facebook, insta and tiktok a years ago....and i only have whatsapp to connect with my colleauges and my bosses....and families...and youtube is the place for me to find a DIY videos or some old skool metal concerts 😂
love the video , im without social and I love my life . I salute you from Italy , write if you come here
Thank you!
Sometimes the best way is to just run your course with it.
Thats a kid. Not worthwile to watch-
For the past three years, I have been constantly deactivating Instagram but I always come back to it, last Thursday I decided that I want to make a change to that routine, I want to leave behind social media (I don't use Snapchat and TikTok) I do believe I have an addiction but it's so weird because I feel that I'm personally addicted to short videos because they keep me entertained ALL the time which makes it addicting to me. I intended to leave social media for 6 months but why not forever? I feel like I owe to people to show them where I am or what I'm doing etc.... But that is such a ridiculous thought.
It's a drug, exactly, it's made based on the human addicted aspects of behavior, and they make you feel like you are responsible for using it too much... It is awful the immorality behind it...
