It protects the crew from the elements who working the ropes I guess that was the idea behind offshore vessels.

I was excited by the Porsche collaboration yacht. This one is okay too-it avoids the glitter that turns many of these boats into floating McMansions. On the other hand, I wish the interior designer had not tried to justify his scheme because what we see contradicts what he says. Dynamic, fluid, etc., are not reflected in the sharp corners and rectangular boxes that envelop this boat's occupants. He dwells on the primary suite and talks about the first thing one sees upon waking. Well, that happens to be a paneled wall of grey oak which is okay except what dominates is not the oak, but the vertical joints between panels. Really? Does do people really want to wake up to look at modular panels? It beats a big screen TV, but I prefer the marble panel behind the bed that the sleeper does not get to see. Overall, it's very well done. Just wish it had been another Porsche collaboration.

it's so big, and uses so much fuel that i'd just say to use a nuclear reactor
Usually that would be right, but not the case with Dynamiq! For a 41m yacht with a displacement of 210 tons she's actually remarkably economical: consumption at 10 knots is just 50 litres/hour. That translates into an incredible range of 5,500 nautical miles, which practically means 2 Transatlantic crossings on one fuel tank 💪

Can it go transatlantic? Or rather is it recommended
Dynamiq’s hulls are not just designed to get to your favourite anchorage in a hurry - they have also been optimised for long-range cruising. The round bilge design and clever bow shape mean a range of more than 3,000 miles, while a shallow draft of just 1.7 metres means you can get into shallow bays and anchorages that are beyond the reach of other superyachts. Up to you to decide!
@@bedynamiq Sounds good, but I am not very knowledgeable in yachts. Is the range the only thing which matters for crossing the atlantic? Can it sustain a heavy storm, is the hull strong enough? I am just not sure if I didn't understand you correctly because I asked for ocean crossing not shallow waters
We build our yachts to the very highest industry standards incorporating the very latest safety systems, however weather plays a crucial role when crossing the Atlantic. Waves can reach heights of +5m. Theoretically it is possible but requires proper planning.
