Mario absolutely destroys link. Link may have better skill, combat, and battle strays. But Mario destroys in every other category AND isn’t too far behind in link’s terms of skill. Mario’s strength: Lowballed: Mountain level, he was able to pick up and PUNT 61 Million tons. Maximum Strength: Unmeasureable, was stronger then Dimentio who could move hypermass. And moving hypermass is an Unmeasureable strength feat. That ties him with Bill Cipher for his strength. Speed: Mario is able to move while time is frozen or is being erased from existence. That is implying Mario’s speeds transcend time itself. Durability: Survived a Supernova explosion at the end of Mario Galaxy that destroyed the entire universe and was left UNSCATHED. Intelligence: Incredibly Genuis, he was able to build his own Time Machine in the game Mario’s Time Machine for the SNES. Mario’s Battle IQ: Mario has better battle IQ then bowser who can lead armies and has Co queried the universe, TWICE! Link definitely has better Battle Strats but Mario ain’t lacking. Mario’s Combat and Skill: Has outskilled multiple masters of martial arts in his RPG games and has HIS OWN DOJO. He also has had multiple jobs making skill quite vast. Stamina: Link is able to go multiple days without sleeping in BotW and TotK but that’s mainly game mechanics and not requiring him to sleep. So I’ll be generous and say Link can go multiple days without needing to sleep. Mario has done that too in the game Mario Odyssey, he has gone three days without sleeping in that game as it has shown to be night time 3 separate times throughout his adventure in that game. Conclusion: Mario destroys, Low difficulty. Mario in his Movie is completely different from Mario in the games.
