It’s disempowering people who don’t have mental health issues and for those who do, it hinders them. I am so shocked and angry to the point I cannot be apart of this profession. My heart is broken at how far removed from humanistic it all is. Reality: although they are sitting on an entire body of research, the research is ignored because ‘trauma’ is now a fashionable term and hijacked by controlling people who claim to be ‘triggered’ (traumatised). In reality, they are narcissistically injured by a difference of opinion, they twist your words to claim to be narcissistically injured, or you remind them of someone in the past they don’t like. Then use narcissistic defence mechanisms to dominate and silence based upon their feelings and warped views. Hence, you looked out of the window and they felt abandoned, therefore there is something wrong with you and they are entitled to abuse you. Same mentality of the rapist who felt that skirt was too short, the man who didn’t have his dinner on the table at 6pm sharp, all FELT entitled to abuse. They expect you to share their fantasy and even apologise. They abuse you and expect you to be sorry for it. Don’t fall for it. Instead, think critically. No one was put on this earth to be abused. It’s very simple.
