Join me on this unforgettable encounter aboard the iconic C-54 Spirit of Freedom! This silent flight experience takes you from waiting out overcast skies, waving other warbirds off as they roll out for departure, followed by a smooth flight over to Lincoln Country Regional airport (KIPJ), where the townspeople were waiting to fill the cargo plane with toys to send to the children of Asheville NC after Hurricane Helene swept through the area causing devastation. From her early days as the Berlin "Candy Bomber", this 81 year-old aircraft is taking this opportunity to bring help once again, just as she did decades ago! Filmed from the jumper seat, you'll get a unique inside perspective of this historic military cargo plane as she begins her 2024 mission.
