      City water in Merida is pretty heavy on minerals. Depending on budget, some use water softeners and reverse osmosis to make drinkable. Which area of the city will you be staying on?

      Thank you for your comment. We're in the process of scheduling homes in Merida between $250,000 and $400,000. They should be posted in September! If you have a prefer area you are interested, please comment below and we'll make a video for it! Even though lots of homes can be found in the States for the same price lots of people are choosing Merida because of the lifestyle that it offers. Many choosing price ranges over 600,000 USD.

    these types of companies are the reason expats are moving out of mexico and other countries, because try to profit more than the countries actual true cost. they raise the cost to outside the normal rate, but this only benefits them, and harms the countries people, but no one will go there and spend money, because of them manipulating the area to jack up the cost, out side what the people can even afford. the locals could benefit if they kept the cost normal and treated people well, then more people would come and want to spend, but the price is jacked up, they feel cheated and hate the people and area. its common sense. foreigners come to countries, and try to charge people the same price as america, which not what it really is in the countries, when they do this, the people that move to countries like mexico, feel so cheated, they would rather leave, and now the country has less people to buy their services, and to be honest, most expats dont have alot to spend when they get retirement. this is all a scam that harms everyone except the people trying to sell over priced.

      Even thought what you're describing can happen in Merida and other areas of Mexico, I'm not sure how you're qualified to to rate our business or business intentions when you've never actually worked with us or anyone related to our business. Before submitting a review of our business or any business for that matter do more research or actually use the business. If you've been taken advantage by other business that's unfortunate but what're describing above couldn't be farther from truth about our business. Our business exist to protect internationals from the bad experiences you're describing as those practices are done mainly by locals and/or other foreigners that have been burned and start taking advantage of others to compensate. I invite you to watch all our videos so you can understand more about the difference we're making as a business or read our google reviews by international clients. Making these videos takes time and resources we don't get back and we do it with the intention of having transparent information in English so those bad experiences don't happen to the most vulnerable that might not speak the language. Our co-founder David Casanova is local of Merida, employs other locals and helps everyone (local or international) to have the best experience possible. So again, I hope you infrom yourself more before just giving a negative opinion of something you don't know. Thank you for your comment either way as it will create perspective for those watching this video in the future.

    Hey! Looking to stay in Merida for a couple months but finding it hard to locate an area that meets all my needs. hoping for some help. I will not have a car, but also can't be in a loud area due to working from home (client meetings all day). I'd like to be in walking distance of grocery store and short uber distance to downtown and all the cool place to see on the weekends. So close to where things are convenient but far enough where it is quiet. Is this possible?

    • @yucatanrealestategroup
      @yucatanrealestategroup 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi there! Thank you for you comment! Some areas in Centro (Downtown) can be busy and loud but you can definitely find some quieter streets. If you want to make it easier and being around everything but not in the middle of it some neighbourhoods that could be a good fit are Itzimna, Garcia Gineres and Colonia Aleman near centro. If being around centro is not a most and you just need walkable amenities like groceries and restaurants, Montebello and Altabrisa are really great areas to live in the north. For short term rentals, in most cases its best to use an app like Airbnb. Other good places to look into are small property management companies, Easy Aviso and Facebook groups for rentals in Merida. Hope that is helpful in your search and hope your experience in Merida is AMAZING!

    I believe the world belongs to everyone but I also believe you should be considerate to the people who are used to living in a certain way in their own environment. Please consider that coming to live here is cheaper for you, but also the cost of living here is slowly rising for the locals because of the high demand for houses from non-locals. You might be able to afford that house, but for us living next to you now, things have started to become a little more expensive at rate that has taken us by suprise. We can't stop you from buying a house here, but I thought I should at least say something to bring awareness to this issue because these videos only say how great coming to Mérida is for you.

    • @yucatanrealestategroup
      @yucatanrealestategroup 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Roberto! Thanks for your comment! David Casanova and co-founder of our business was born and raised in Merida and definitely agrees that the increased costs in real estate in Merida are making it harder for locals to purchase new homes. Unfortunately, this is a trend for most places in the world and specifically most places in North America after the Pandemic. Compared to some places in Canada and US and even other states in Mexico, Merida is still a very affordable option. Because how good Merida is compared to those places, lots of people will continue to move here in the near future, most from other states in Mexico but some others from other international spots. Our channel's intention is just to inform others transparently what living in Merida feels like and help them with their real estate needs.

There is no restrictions to invest and we can help you through the entire process. Lastly, the best market right now for short-term rentals is Downtown. $300,000-$400,000 USD is a good range for 2 bedroom homes with a pool. I know as a realtor you dont mind, but we cant keep getting more Americans. Theyre ruining everything for everyone. Not just in Merida but Mexico as a whole. They always do this no matter where they go. Its like its in their blood to destabilize new areas.

    It's definitely not a reasonably cheap place to live, compared to other areas of Mexico!

    • @yucatanrealestategroup
      @yucatanrealestategroup 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You're right, places like Chiapas and other areas of Mexico are considerably cheaper. The safety and other aspects are compromised but definitely cheaper. Residents of Merida can still enjoy affordable living and housing around all budgets but the hyped areas of the city have drastically increased since the pandemic and will continue to do so.

    Had to sell my place… the heat was unbearable! You probably get 8 weeks of nice weather and the rest of the year you are in hell! In the cold you can dress for it, but in that heat there is nothing you can do.

      @yucatanrealestategroup 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      We had to change a few activities between May and September because of the heat but we definitely like this weather better than the cold winters we lived before. Every place has its compromises and for us getting a pool helped us be more ok with this weather

      It's okay that You didn't acclimate to the Yucatan sunshine. You're not the first. Perhaps November-February would be more agreeable to You. I'm from south Georgia. I visited Centro Merida from May, 21-June 11, 2024. Though the daytime temperature did not drop below 104°f/40°c, for 21 straight days, the temperature was manageable. To me, the key is to get your outdoor chores/errands completed before 10:am. Then take a siesta until 6:00pm. Then go to parks, restaurants, etc. Evening activities begin around 9:00PM, and generally continue into the late evening-early morning.

    Hi, I am living in Florida for more than 20 years and looking to move away of US within 5 years. I started to check possible places and Mexico is one of them so far. I got answers for the good and bad for Mexico. For the Good are: People, Weather, Language, Culture, Food, etc. For the Bad are: Streets with no trees, Costly homes comparing with typical US houses, Small lots, Boring Arquitecture (house made of boxes), with funny - joke swimming pools. Merida has depriment street landscaping. Are there better cities in Mexico?

    • @yucatanrealestategroup
      @yucatanrealestategroup 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you for your comment. Merida Centro indeed lacks landscaping but that is not the same in the North. In Merida, we have great private communities keeping as much as they can of the original nature in those areas and adding lots of additional landscaping. Good examples of these developments are Cumbres Novonorte, Tamara, and Parque Natura among others. Other cities of Mexico might offer more diverse architecture but depending on your budget we have lots of AMAZING local and international architects that have designed and will continue to design beautiful homes in Merida. Please let me know if you would like more information about Merida or any other city in Mexico!

      Thank you for your comment and glad you found it valuable! Gym memberships vary depending on what you’re looking for. The first option we shared on the more pricer side is for a family with access to gyms, pools, courts and much more. We also mentioned there are more affordable options such as Smart Fit which is a monthly rate of about $30 USD that most people find a great option! Hope this helps!

    Merida sounds lovely and looks beautiful 😍 very informative video! We are looking for a place to live for 3 mos during the winter months in Canada (January - March). My husband is Canadian and we’ll be retiring to Winnipeg in a couple years and have been on the hunt for a place we can escape to during the winter! Would an Airbnb be our best option? Also, are there any special visa requirements we’d need to stay there for 3 mos? Thank you!

      Thank you for your comment, You're choosing a great time to visit. Airbnb will have the best options and the most inventory but there are also great Facebook groups and other websites with lots of great properties. If you send us an email to info@yucatanrealestategroup.com I would be more than happy to share a few helpful links with you. There are no visa requirements when visiting from Canada up to a 6-month stay.

We have worked/met people living in Merida full-time from Virginia, Nevada, Georgia, Florida, Ontario, Alberta, BC, South Africa, New Zealand and many other places so it's worth it for a lot more people than you think. The two most common reasons why people relocate to Merida are the more affordable lifestyle and safety. Merida's expat community will continue to grow and the content we create is to help those looking to move here as no place is perfect. Cheers ✌🏾
