Why YOUR BROADHEAD Didn't Work Last Season!
What about the toxic broadhead?
They should teach this everywhere
Looking to buy 20 inch 400 grain for my ten point. And suggestions
Hey man just wanna say great informative video. Covered just about everything I was wondering. Only thing not covered that I’m curious about is how do you get your bow up with you
I don’t think anyone says a mechanical broadhead gets more penetration than a fixed blade
Messed up!
Great video
Noone ever uses the Swhacker #223/#224 1.75" cut low poundage broadhead in these low poundage tests. Thats odd.
Asia Glens
Lmfao
I bought a used bow and have no idea if it's tuned or not or how to do that
28.5draw 62lbs 400grain arrow..125grain THUNDERhead.. Bear Archery
What about number 4
Thank you for even acknowledging the topic of shooting through the mesh as I’ve not heard much on that and would like more experienced bow hunters’ take on how to approach that when needed. Good stuff.
Remember that the swhacker opens up after penetration so that they can get past the rib cage
Great information, i'm going Tree hunting this weekend. Thanks!
So you're telling me that 4 digit arrow you showed as an example is just shy of an inch thick?
4-5 spine rake handle lol
I call bullshit !
Get your bow square level then sightbin tune with what your good at then concentrate on one thing and one thing only i slap my new mathews atlas to center shot do close eye to open eye peep set the 1,2,3rd axis on the bench buy numbers soot all 6 arrows in a 2" group within second round of arrows then focas on grip i shoot a bare shaft ever third arrow its form more then the equipment
we shoot what works for us if we kill what we are aiming at and its a good kill then we are good all this FOC and stuff is all BS and thoes with a brain know this so we dont need more BS hype, look at it this way if there was a real true setup then we would not have choices like we do .. the spine charts are over 1000 years out of date and many people agree with this because of moderen bows the charts are based on old timer bows not the new stuff .. hell i have even shot arrows that the charts would say not to do it and i get great results therefore modern bows negate the charts the charts are a guideline only and not to be taken as fact more and more companies at least are telling us its a guideline not written in stone..also the more weight you ad the slower your arrow and you lose energy not gain you only gain with more speed and draw weight.. and if you cant pull it then thats a problem and if you dont well the animals will be gone before the arrow gets there now iam not saying go light but dont go to heavy most i hear is 400 to 480 tops and hunt with in 35 yards or less expecially for animales like deer that are freaking fast once spooked , now keep in mind i have not hunted before this is my first time this year but the studing i have done iam sure ill be good with my setup which is 56lbs 400 spine and with my broadhead the Deadmeat total arrow weight 400 grains.. more then enoght for deer bear and moose for sure.. even out to 53 yards
I love you 💖💖💖💖💖
Good stuff
My quiver hits the limbs
LOL
Doesn't matter if you drop out of the kill zone due to too much arrow weight... Speed equals forgiveness! Take away your rangefinder gun or bow then think about what you want. Always end up with higher velocity flatter shooting...
If you use bmps instead of bullet field points you don’t have that issue
So ignorant
Whats up with youtube blurring out much of the video for bear recovery. Dumb.
Necer happens!!!!
This video made me feel better about passing on a shot yesterday 😅. Thanks!
. It's a really good point that broadheads will never determine blood trails. They just won't.
Can you use the 125 grain k2 mini with the gold tip arrows that also have a collar?
I’m a bow tech at a large retail outdoors store and been shooting since 1968. It’s the same today as it was back then. Shooters all want speed and manufacturing are appeasing them. People will pay a $100 more for 5 fps instead of what they should care about. They are virtually dry firing these new bows. I try to explain the benefits of a heavier an arrow or bolt. They don’t care, they’re after the speed
Wish you would quit teaching people to shoot with one eye closed.
Pardon my ignorance, but what does the hydrogen peroxide look like when sprayed on bodily fluids? Is it red like blood?
Okay could you please tell me which broad head to get for my crossbow it shoots 380 fps and I would like 100 grain recommendations please
Cross bow rifle tree stand no problem
As long as ur field points are the same grain weight as ur broadheads . You won’t have much tuning to do . As long as ur arrow is set up correctly
what a great video... toilet paper I used, but the hyrogen peroxide I wish I knew, yea, when I lost a buck trail. Thanks for the info man.
This is the dumbest shit i’ve heard. My single bevel wide iron will broadheads will not fly the same as my field points. Thats just physically impossible.
Has Ranch Fairy and the THP boys heard about this????
Very informative video, thanks 👍
Available April 1st!
Mechanical Blade Proponents Fans: "When everything is perfect, mechanicals work just as good as fixed blades!" Me: "Everything is NEVER perfect when hunting."
Great video
As a guide we said middle of the middle slightly forward. Had each client practice on a target with the right shot broadside. The best advice I can give is look at the front legs. If the farthest leg is ahead of the closest leg, do not take the shot, period. If they are even, or if the closest leg is out front that is when you take the shot. The best shot is shooting side leg forward but bears are tricky because they can angle and quarter their body to and away and its less obvious than deer or elk. A lot of folks call this "curling in or out" when the bear will turn its shooter side leg in and curve its body effectively creating a quartering too shot that looks REALLY tempting except for the fact that the bears entire shoulder is now blocking most of its vitals. Ive seen bears take rifle shots in that position with hunters who did not pay attention to the feet... Always watch the front legs... If the leg closest to you is ahead of the farthest take the shot if its not... Its a bad shot. Ive seen too many hunters whoop for joy only to explain to them that the arrow got fur or that they wounded the bear and we have a 12-24 hour wait on a long track.
Well, that didn't turn out anything like I expected that it was going to. Though in fairness, it would've been nice to see how it did with a decibel meter. Someone else in the comment mentioned maybe placing the mic (db meter) somewhere other than right below the strings, which I think may have some merit.
This comment section is wild. The guy is right field points and broadheads should shoot the same. What he failed to talk about is what to actually do.
I had 30 years of guiding bear hunts in Alaska before covid wrecked my guide services. I only lost 2 bears a Hugh Brown bear the client hit to far back on the liver area and a black bear that should have died on the spot but got away and both bears hit by a 300 Wby mag at close range. Due to my requirement the client brings not less than a 338 win mag and preferably a 375 magnum of some kind we never really had many problems looking too much for bears shot by large caliber magnums. I switched from a 338 win mag to a CZ 550 rifle in 9.3x62 Mauser using reloads upped to about a 375 H&H mag commercial loads and I think the 9.3x62 Mauser had the greater edge over the 338 win mag for killing affects. Type of bullet is also a requirement to only use the Barns TSX - TTSX or another brand of copper expanding bullets because all lead core bullets are complete unreliable to not blow up and then fragment causing wounded bears. Before some num nuts wants to talk crap to me here is where you can view my Alaska guide photos on Instagram @ dwayneb1959 so don't even think of writing BS to me
