“Shoulder to Shoulder: Untold Stories From a Forgotten War” is a new podcast hosted by Ret. Lt. Col. Will Selber (Air Force) and civilian attorney Kate Kovarovic, who currently works in the field of veterans law. The two met while working to evacuate and resettle Afghan military allies following the U.S. military withdrawal and subsequent fall of Afghanistan in August 2021. Since that time, the two have collaborated on numerous projects together, from coordinating safe houses for their allies to publicly advocating for better mental health support for veterans and volunteers. In launching their podcast, Will and Kate hope to bridge the civil-military gap through frank discussions about the War on Terror and those affected by it: from the soldiers who fought, to the spouses they left, to the volunteers still tirelessly working to support those allies left behind. In standing shoulder to shoulder with all those impacted, this podcast offers a safe space for candor and healing.

❤Thank you for bringing Vietnam Veteran Steve Williams to your show. I couldn't agree more with you about how much young veterans can learn from Vietnam veterans. I've been interviewing veterans now for 7 years and wish I could do more to connect these generations to each other. My most recent interview was with a Vietnam veteran who wrote songs and music to deal with his PTSD, but didn't share until 2010. He now has a band called the Tunnel Rats. I will read Steve's book and share w my veteran friends. Vietnam Tunnel Rats are a unique fearless group- frightening role in Vietnam. Thank you, again. Welcome Home, Steve

With huge respect to you KK, As an Afghan ,and knowing these two defeated scumbag plasticky generals very well, They completely lied to you, They both had a great case of crruption and stealing millions and millions of $ , So dont believe them,
Great first episode. Parts of this convo were a gut punch for me--even though I'm not a vet of the Afghan conflict, but just as an American and a vet of other similar conflicts. Kosh and Sami were so well spoken and I know there are probably thousands of Afghans just like them behind the scenes. My hat is off to those dudes. Keep up the great work Will & KK!
