Festivities set for this Saturday, Dec. 7, in La Vernia to welcome the Christmas season have been postponed, due to weather. The 31st annual Spirit of Christmas events - including a parade and tree-lighting - will now take place Friday, Dec. 13. The city and La Vernia Municipal Development District announced the change in plans via social media today. “We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and greatly appreciate your understanding,” city officials said. The parade will now take place Dec. 13, starting at 6:30 p.m., followed by the Christmas tree-lighting at 7:30 p.m. and festivities in the La Vernia City Park. This will include live music, photos with Santa, snow slides and more.

Great interview about the Camino Real work center in Wilson County. I had no Idea they did so much, they don't just provide meaningful training for the people who attend, they also provide a feeling of pride and independence that makes a person feel needed and appreciated. This is a blessing to all who attend and their families. I could tell that Ms. Burns, and all the employees at the Wilson County Camino Real are dedicated and love helping adults with IDD.

So glad all concerned are leaving such a small intake food imprint.
