this is the car that sold at Mecum for >$3 Million
1970 1970 at this time the filming of this race was not as good as it is today
That was awesome!!! Those 2 cars were absolute legends in the 70s.
Moore Village
My first car was a 63 Belvidere it only had a 318 but I wish I still had it
That Powerglide really makes that thing a bad@ss!

SSSSSUNDAY!!!!! RRRRRACEWAY PARK ENGLISHTOWN NEW JERSEY BE THERE !!!! 👀
They wont be writing songs about teslas or camrys. This is the real deal
I love how mopar guys love weighing cars down with unnecessary options, 2 or 3 fender tags. As if a Daytona isn’t a big enough parade float. A true musclecar is bare bones as possible, not loaded down with shit to slow it down.
Who painted the engine compartment with a house roller? 🤣
@1:12 All original huh? The dual feed Holley is NOT original. 🤣 The correct carb would be a 4640SA Carter AVS.
Loved the old days, great racing.
Bet Don Carlton was driving the Mopar Missile.
The drivers name is Donald Hughes isn’t it
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
was there & remember his had my 73 Dodge Polara
You know you want it.
some people call 'em ugly , I love them !
I had a 65 Plymouth Satellite with a 383. 4bbl, shift kit and huge M50x14 tires on the rear. I never lost any race off the line and EVERYONE wanted a go at me. I always let off after about 100 feet to avoid street racing tickets. All those Camaros, Firebirds, El Caminos and Corvettes would go ripping past after I let off the gas. Some of them insisted on going again and again, but I never lost off the line. Wish I still had that Mopar.
Wowza! 🤘😳
The dash applique that says barracuda appears to be 1971 or newer which makes one wonder and column shift auto was fairly common as I can attest to I have one
Superior
Badass 1st car I crashed was a 62 valiant when I was 13 took the car without asking my younger brother Michael was not impressed I was could have bin worse it was foggy and I seen the road I was about to cross so I nailed the brake and put it in the ditch backwards
Its more comedical to me that somebody actually bought one of those brand new with a slant 6! Its such a bad joke, that its actually appreciated how incredibly rare it is to find one of those without a V8 hahaha
The days of real racing with factory cars.
Mr 4-speed vs petty interesting
I was so lucky to be in my teens and twenties during this time.
👍👍👍👍👍
Long live the wedge motors ! Totally badass
Drag racing is silly. Kind of goofy really.
What? Show the damn car!
I had a 1064 Plymouth post Belvedere the hemi was not available till 1995 I had a 426 wedge and it was very fast turned in the low 12’s
I'd like to see a Tesla do that! 😂
Did Ronny red light, I thought I saw a light??
They say the '64 GTO was the first muscle car. I say it was really started in '62 by Chrysler.
Saw this car run back in the day. Later it was found out RS and BM cheated. One reason why they were so dominant. BM said in an interview that the car in the pic, Cuda had an altered wheelbase. They built the chassis first made it work. Then fitted the body. You really couldn't tell it was done so perfectly. And the last time I saw RS run was at Maple Grove. He was there with his pro-stock Comet. He said that he went back to the Mercury because they were his most successful cars. You have to love his honesty and candor.
Who won?
Those lucky dawgs, cheap, high octane fuel.
This was a 1968 Dodge Dart. I raced a 1969. They raced about the same times.
