    Their pricing schedule is just ridiculous. €6,50 would already be more than $6,50. Why should I pay €7,50 which equates to about $8, just for living in Europe. As long as they don't fix this dishonest pricing. No thank you.

      US Prices are exclusive of sales tax. EU prices include tax. There difference really isn't THAT much.

    I think you just made my mind up. After spending an hour researching domains and their costs, then researching port forwarding (which I don't seem to be able to do with my router and service provider), I've come to the realisation that Home Assistant Cloud would be best for my low level of ability and also support the service that's given me so much control over my EV, heating and so much else. Thanks for the information.

    Good video, I think the unknown factor is whether the big three are obliged to share information to certain agencies etc.. if said agencies have issue with certain peoples political views or beliefs they could be a target. The old argument if you have nothing to hide there is nothing to worry about.. the worrying question is who decides what should be said or thought.

    Thanks for this! Since a Home Assistant device is going to be online basically all the time, won't it continually request extensions to its IP lease? So, even with dymanic addressing won't it keep the same IP as long as the device isn't disconnected for 8 days and another device joins to take the IP?

      Hi! I found the solution! Your home assistant nodes look like they haven’t been updated. Choose manage palette, installed nodes, search home assistant, bottom right corner there should be an update button. You may have to push it more than once to get all the updates. Then restart nodered, upgrade the home assistant nodes, will appear next to the deploy button, then deploy.

    IMO home assistant cloud is worth it for most people. It's substantially easier to set up and manage, as many others have said supports the HA developers, and is relatively affordable. The only situation I say otherwise is if the monthly fee is too high or if you just want the experience of setting up a self-managed solution. Not to mention if you don't know what you're doing you could really expose your network.

    Great Video I do have a question as I have not yet implemented either this method or the Node Red option you have a video on. So I have disconnected all my Hue Lights from the Hub bridge and have paired them directly into Alexa via Zigbee. If I use the emulated hue that you have shown here, will it duplicate all my hue bulbs (potentially different names but the same device)?

    • @SmartHomeTheory
      @SmartHomeTheory 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You have control over which devices are exposed using this method so no, it should not duplicate.

    Hi Brilliant description. I have been using this for a while now, with no issues. However I added 3 entities, Fan High Fan Medium and Fan Low. These 3 entities are not being broadcast by HA and as such are not detected by Alexa. I have looked for the config/.storage/emulated_hue.ids file with Terminal and it does not exist.
