狭小住宅の屋上でギリシャリクガメの放し飼いをしています。
屋内飼育を5年間経験し、2007年から屋外飼育をスタート。以来、毎年の繁殖や冬眠を繰り返しながら、限られたスペースでリクガメが持つ本来の姿にどこまで近づけるかをテーマに取り組んでいます。

We allow tortoises to roam freely on the roof of our tiny house, pursuing a natural lifestyle for them.
After five years of indoor breeding, we started raising them outdoors in 2007. Since then, we have been breeding and hibernating every year, and we have been working on the theme of how close we can get to a tortoise's natural appearance in a limited space.

片目の赤ちゃんリクガメ！one eyed baby tortoise！
孵化した片目のギリシャリクガメ。左目がない上、右目も少し濁っていて、最初は餌を食べることができませんでした。スプーンで餌を与えながら成長を見守り、今では少しずつ自分で食べるように。口内炎も改善し、元気を取り戻しています。春には屋外飼育を目指して頑張ります！
A one-eyed Greek tortoise that took 107 days to hatch. It was missing its left eye and its right eye was a little cloudy, so it couldn't eat at first. We fed it with a spoon and watched it grow, and now it's slowly starting to eat on its own. Its mouth ulcers have improved and it's regaining its strength. We'll do our best to raise it outdoors in the spring!

冬眠明け&屋外飼育スタート

12月10日に冬眠入りして、3月30日に起こしました。 それぞれの体重変化はだいたい2〜3%減で抑えることができました。 個人的には冬眠で一番難しいのは立ち上がりだと思います。 春はリクガメとの再会が楽しみでもあり、飼育者として気合いが入ります。 #tortoise #リクガメ #ギリシャリクガメ #冬眠 #繁 #屋外飼育 #greek #graeca
