Love that approach. Doing the same, but focussing on retro lands from Onslaught and older. 🥰 Think, only my Rakdos traps deck plays modern frame basics: galaxy foils from Unfinity, cause they look pretty and the Pokémon vibe kinda fits to the silliness of the deck. 🤭

@CardboardTutor If you removed loam you could add a strip mine or two to get with rotation, this is also neat because bind can interact with it i believe, although idk how important loam is to the deck.

@yurisimp4life Also thought about strip mine, but only gets rid of the forest not of the Genju. Loam I liked to be able to retrieve forests, but also realized, it’s quite powerful and can be cast multiple times throughout a turn with the cycling ability. The fact that 4 cards with the cycling ability are lands doesn’t help… 😅🙈

Yes, do finish them!! When you start a beta cube, you could also use it as a base set to draft in combination with the others! 🤩

Thanks for the feedback. Trying to click on the cards throughout the video to get the info on the right side, but sometimes I forget and/or expect people to know/recognize the card.

Could be, but I didn’t smell much/anything actually. Cards this old (30+ years) have also collected many oils and dirt from being handled and swiped over tables without sleeves. Another reason why the regular printing of white border cards has ended, IMO.

@CardboardTutor it was not because of the pips. Its legendary so I can tutor it with sisay, I think it was because its not a creature so it does not trigger the dmg dealers like purphoros by itself. And ut also might be a reason that only triggers for creatures

Squee/Shigeki as a secret commander or are they just the commanders themselves for two decks? I have another secret commander deck on this channel with Atraxa, Grand Unified at the head and two secret commanders inside the deck. 🤭

@CardboardTutor they are the secret commanders. prismatic bridge is the commander to find squee, then I put a lot equipments on squee and maybe win with combat damage. And Kenrith is the commander for shigeki, to reanimate Shigeki or the creatures that get in the grave with skigekis abillity.

5C-Sisay + Norin sounds interesting! You get to play the best cards that synergize with Norin of every color and Sisay can tutor for Norin. Love it! What are your favorite cards to synergize with him in black and blue? And you’re right: you should never have both - Aura Shards and Confusion in the Ranks - on the battlefield. Either/or and they’re powerful enough! 😙👌🏾

@CardboardTutor there are so many Good cards with norin. Think the best one is satoru the infiltrator. 2 mana, every time norin enters i draw a card. Also for your deck the etb elesh norn is great. Maybe the best card in my deck, but hard to tell, because i like all of the cards.

Nice! Satoru is 2 mana cheaper than Guardian project and tutorable with Sisay! 🤩 I’d include Elesh, but since I didn’t own one I resorted to Panharmonicon and Gandalf. A third one that doubles the triggers would certainly help with consistency!

@CardboardTutor you can play delny to double the triggers in white. In 5 color i play also yarok and i can play sakashima to copy everything in my mostly legendary tribal deck.

How many trigger doublers are there? With Delny we have 3. How many should one even play in total in such a deck? 😂 The fact that you can always tutor out exactly what you need with Sisay is so amazing an a unique way to play her! 🤩 You could even play Yegantha as a companion, right?

Can’t speak for any of them yet, BUT I’m planning to have another playmat made soon, so if you wanna wait for another month or so, I’ll probably have another vid and link on my channel regarding a new custom playmat. 🤗

@CardboardTutor Cool, thanks very much! How did you make this image? Did you make it out of a card that you enlarge and then cropped to 60 by 35?

I actually googled it and looked for the highest resolution, which wasn’t much, since the artwork is from the 90s. But it still looks great since it’s done with watercolors, therefore you don’t really notice the pixels ^^

It very much depends on the size of the set. Two things were important for me when building my cubes: First, I wanted the feeling of opening boosters, so the distribution had to be correct and secondly, I planned on playing it with up to 10 players. So for my The Dark set cube, each C3 is in there 9 times, for Arabian Nights the plan is to have each C5 15 times. Unlimited has enough Us/Rs that I only need one of each to be able to play with 10 players and so on… :) I have a whole vid about the distribution for my set cubes on my channel (Guardian Beast is on the thumbnail), if you’re interested in hearing more! 🤗

Its pretty complicated. Based on the print sheet and how many players you have. My antiquities set cube is 434 cards minus basics.

Awesome! The Dark is such a janky set, but also so inexpensive to build and let me tell you: drafting it is such a blast, since you have to figure out which of these silly creatures can actually help you win a game! 😂

That such a cute idea! 😍 Could have also sent a copy of the card Wedding Invitation to every Magic player you invited. ;) Howlpack Piper is another spin on the original Elvish Piper. Both have their up-/downsides, but in the end, Elvish seems the obvious better option, just because it’s activated ability costs 1 less and you don’t have to track day/night time, IMO.
