My Great Uncle was William Harvey Bailey he was in Battery B.
Another victim of laws protecting unions and the federal reserve. What will we do when the Chinese refuse to take our worthless Monopoly currency.

Must be B team, doing the hooking.
I don't get why people don't get it. Did you watch the video? There then you get it. It's a pull where inches count not feet
Great pics, remember these good ole' days....was always impressed when riding along route 5 when it was still in operation, hugs factory complex, lots of trains too, seems like the plant went on for miles !
My father was in the 978th FA XIX Corps and I have a copy of the "Cracks the Siegfried Line. Your video brought back plenty of memories of my Dad.
My grandfather was John Hampton
My grandfather John C Hampton served in the 963d. Discharge papers say A Battery.

They look like some VERY poorly trained oxen to me. And that owner seems to be a mean ass.
Shut that noisy tractor off
I worked in the main machine shop gate 1 1964 - 1981
On the dually trucks i noticed only running outer wheels with tires, instead of inner. I figured it would break axles easier that way, but more stability while standing up pulling. How do they gear these things so low? Is it only by adding the 2nd transmission that i see behind the 1st tranny??
Yes there are two transmissions
how much do the concrete blocks and sled weigh?
It's so weird hearing Al's voice. This year is gonna be rough
wildbill0088 he passed away?

Second guy had way more clutch control than the first. He's the best I've seen yet.

Not really understanding this, looks like you spend more time chaining up than anything.
Yes you do, this is the older style of pulling when I grew up, and you have to be patient as they keep tightening the chains, the fun part is watching man and machine struggle to move the load.
love the horses!
Amazing photos
Great pics of Lackawanna plant.
