Yes. The core does not fire on the leviathan unless you have all 5 keys. These correspond to the 5 lights on the control panel at 1:43:55 that light up as you walk past.

@@albanbillard482 You might need to focus a bit on replaying looking for blueprints to upgrade yourself in the meta game. Drill deep into each mine looking for upgrade rooms, and with those upgrades you'll find it easier to make progression. They're usually all the way at the back, on the top right, or bottom right of the mine.

Just like @BeheadedKamikaze said, the game forces you to die multiple times to progress over time Generally, you'll have two guaranteed keys, one at the top and another at the bottom of the map. The rest will be scattered throughout the caves 😊
