🏈 Drew Bledsoe 1994 Touchdowns 🏈
It was the first official season for the Patriots under Kraft and the first season where Bledsoe was healthy. This year was the year he let it rip. Drew threw for an NFL record 691 times this season (a record that stood until 2012 when it was broken by Matthew Stafford) he also broke the record for most passes in an NFL game with 70 in a miraculous season changing OT win against the Minnesota Vikings. While Drew had a bit of a turnover problem, it was clear that the Patriots and their fans had their man at QB. This was also the first time that the Patriots would make the playoffs since 1987.

Things changed for the Patriots franchise quickly in 1993. A new owner swooped in and rescued the franchise from relocation, a Super Bowl winning coach was hired, and a star QB was drafted. While things start slow, excitement builds as the Patriots look like a team of the future. Here's to Drew Bledsoe, the QB that helped bring hope and excitement to a region that was dying for a winning team. ...

"I think he's faster than Brady, what do you think?". I almost forgot about the way he played with his heart. - funny how the Seasons can go by so quick. Good job here. Need see more +Patriots vids.

      More Pats vids to come 👍🏻! He was a solid QB. Nice arm, very mobile, decisive. It's unfortunate he went to a Chiefs organization that was in a really bad place at that time. You could really see the potential toward the end of 2008 when he was slinging it all over the field. That game in Miami really stood out to me that year especially against that defense.

    One more thing. I’ve told ppl on TH-cam and in the facebook gator group I am in that I don’t want to end up like Texas am. I literally told ppl told me and others to be patient napier is recruiting and it takes time that it don’t matter because of his play calling. And lack of development game to game isn’t there. No real progression. I could understand if every game we are progressing but we wasn’t. Now we want to use the young excuse but that’s a choice napier made. He could’ve infused veteran talent from the portal. And the biggest thing after 5 games I expect this team to play better. You have 5 live game experience and that should take you further than what we’ve seen on the field. Also napier has had top 15 talent for 2 years according to talent composite and he wins only 5 to 6 wins and lose to all the teams that’s less talented than you. SMH the difference is the coaching staff

    • @SportingwithSmitty
      @SportingwithSmitty 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Exactly! You can recruit all the talent in the world but if you can't DEVELOP them into SEC stars then theres no point to the whole "hes got a great class coming in" argument. Lets be real he completely botched the transfer portal before the season.

  • @weaponx2980
    @weaponx2980 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I said from the beginning, Napier playbook/play calling isn’t what we need and I don’t care for it. It’s so many factors that go into it that make it obsolete. Napier doesn’t even know how to gameplan for his opponents and don’t know how to use the personnel he has and maximize their play on the field especially with the weaknesses we have. He could’ve schemed around having a bad o line by using a quick game, by using your running backs in the pass game using that jet sweep that he likes to fake. First off I know he’s using motion to gauge if it’s man or zone but it does bring an extra man into the box as well by doing that. Then idk if anyone else notice if it’s a pass majority time is a one read and you can tell by the routes. He run a lot of dummy routes.

    • @SportingwithSmitty
      @SportingwithSmitty 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The route concepts are terrible. As I said in the video, theres no way a 5 star athlete like Wilson shouldnt be open in 2-3 seconds.... 2-3 seconds is enough time to get a throw off even with a garbage oline.

      @weaponx2980 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I honestly don’t understand why our coach hasn’t incorporated that into his scheme, every coach has it. A quick game will help with that weak offensive line. That’s not excuse. Those jet sweeps he likes to fake use them! Quick intermediate passes using the backs in the pass game. He doesn’t use the QB strengths and game plan around it. He did the same thing with AR. I’ve told ppl from the start Napier playbook isn’t good but no one listened. Some many factors that go into it but everyone was so happy to get rid of Mullen. That they didn’t do their homework

    The Pats had two hits to the helmets of Dolphins players (Smythe and Brandon Jones). Neither one was called. Forward progress was stopped for 2 seconds. You need to learn the rules if you are going to comment on games. Here is the text of the rule - "Referee shall blow his whistle or declare the ball dead: ... Whenever he is so held that his forward progress has been stopped." Notice it is blow the whistle OR DECLARE THE BALL DEAD. The Patriots CBs are the biggest offenders of illegal contact and PI in the league. It is literally their trademark

    The problem with UCLA vs. Colorado is that one could hardly pick a team better set-up to exploit the Buff's weaknesses than the Bruins. Colorado has a one-dimensional offense, that lives and dies on how well Shaduer Sanders passes the football. And he does not do well under relentless pressure. And with a O-line that can barely pass-block, UCLA's powerful defensive front seven are going to have their way with them and run riot in the CO backfield. The Bruins are statistically 8th in both sacks and tackles for a loss, and 4th in QB pressures. Shaduer is going to be running for his life. UCLA is apt to adapt the game-plan they used successfully against Cam Ward and Wazzo to deal with the Buffs. Drop back into nickel and/or dime pass protection rush 3-4 of their studs, and dare CO to run against the #1 rushing defense in the nation. Given that Colorado's rushing attack is #125....and yards per rush is an awful 2.66, I doubt they will try to take up that challenge....since their O-line is just awful at run blocking Moreover, unlike Colorado's offense, UCLA can really run the football, being 10th in rushing offense....which the Buffs will be unlikely to even slow down with their below average (#87) rushing defense. Early this season, UCLA's passing offense was hit-or-miss with true freshman Dante Moore at the helm as QB, making a lot of yards with his elite arm talent and strength, but throwing a lot of INTs and pick-sixes. However, Chip Kelly started junior Ethan Garbers at Stanford last week, and he had a solid game going 20 of 28 for 240 yards passing, with two TDs and 0 INTs. I expect to see him again this week....and possibly QB Colin Schlee as well, who is a serious threat in the run-option game...having 11 carry's himself for 175 yards, including 2 TDs. Heck, it would not surprise me if Chip has situational packages prepared for all three. I think the Bruins are going to beat the Buffs worse than they did against Wazzo. Final: CU : 13 - UCLA 38 , and take the under, UCLA's defense is just too tough for a CO scoring explosion....but Chip Kelly teams are not noted for blowouts, because he'd rather use garbage time (up by 4 scores) to train his 3rd string rather than running up the score w/ starters.

      Thats a really good point. The reason why I think this will be closer is not only does Kelly (like you pointed out) brings in the 3rd stringers to coast at the end but Deion is an excellent motivator that can get these guys to perform better then they are. But youre right Colorado will NOT slow down that rushing attack.

    A strong effort could work miracles for this young team. A 7-5 or 8-4 finishcould be a springboard to an even better class and a new narrative for '24. Good take overall, GG!

      Thank you for the kind words. OKC shows so much promise man. Definitely a team of the future in my mind especially with the age of the other Western Conference powers (Warriors, Clippers, and Lakers)

    Phoenix is scary to be confident in for me.. Starting 5 best defensive player is KD. Unless they play some type of team D that helps everyone, I see them really struggling in the playoffs. Milwaukee has enough interior d to get past Dames defensive flaws. Just my perspective.
