BIMitUP
United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 19 ก.ย. 2020
I'm Alex Sol, and I created BIMitUP because I realized that what would take me months to learn in a “vanilla-training environment”, I could master in weeks by learning from the right colleagues "on the battlefield". I strongly believe in “Learning While Doing”, and if you do too, this channel is for you!
On this channel you will get helpful tips on BIM/CAD platforms like Revit MEP, Navisworks and AutoCAD MEP, applied to HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical and Fire Protection. BIMitUP is growing into a strong community of professionals who explore and share concepts, fundamentals, new technologies and best practices on MEP industry topics.

Revit dont understand how much air needs from room?
Yes it does. You can run cooling load calculations and based on your temperature assumptions, you can assign CFMs
Would you please do a video on plumbing and piping templates and filters. Thank you.
Hi Ernie. Lucky for you, I'm making a video on templates. Stay tuned!
I just deleted all those steps you mentioned but the issue remains. I'm running win 11. Some things you deleted was not in my chrome but everything yahoo I deleted yet it still does it. help!! Thanks & cheers from Louisiana.
Yes. It is a very stubborn program =)
So something i wanna add about this is it doesnt seem to uninstall completely even if you go to add or remove programs. BUT if you got to program files theres this thing called reasonlabs I think its the company that made safer web or something
Alex, what is the trick for Natural Gas Pipe Connector Hydronic classification? How do we add btuh requirements?
I use Hydronic supply and fake GPM into CFH =)
@@bimitup Thanks, I was searching for the video where you showed this trick.
thx
You are welcome
Not a huge fan of the black background
Yup! A Matter of preference I guess. It is easier on my eyes overtime, which is my No 1 priority now. Have a nice week.
Great job.thanks Alex
My pleasure!
I have the problem where there is no default fitting type specified or the fitting can't be found so my routing solution always fails. Pls help
You need to load the fittings. Go to Insert > Load Family and look for your elbows, tees, etc.
@@bimitup Can I load them from the "load Autodesk family"? Or does it need to be from the "load family tab"? Thank you in advance
this appeared on my pc and i uninstalled it. But do you recommended to do a windows reinstall to make sure or should a uninstall be enough for it to keep off my pc? I also use nord vpn now so hopfully it will protect my pc better.
Uninstall should be enough. Good luck

Cool
Very good as always Alex, thank you ,this serie is very practical
Glad you found it useful
Funny enough, when I uninstall it there are options asking why you decided to delete the app. One of them is "I do not remember installing this product".
lol. Yup
Thanks sir
Welcome
How do you export your Tool Palette to share with others? I can't seem to find any option to export it, and it appears that this feature is no longer available in the 2021 version. What workaround do you use for this?
C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Autodesk\AutoCAD MEP 20XX - English\Migrate Custom Settings
Thank you so much this was great! So so helpful.
Glad it was helpful!
hi , how can we download the software outside the US ?
Get with your Viking sales rep
The project I am working on was not set up for keynotes and we are at 60 percent completion of the design. I am just going to add text with leaders all over the place.
Well, that is one option. Another option is to use Generic annotations. Good luck!
hello! i have the onenote 2016 version and even in that i dont have the dark mode option. only grey theme how do i activate it? or access it?
Did you look in the (2) locations I mention?
Very good,thanks Alex

Excellent video, thanks for sharing Bro!
I'm glad you liked it. Spread the word =)
If I want to copy a Revit standard family, and it's Family Type Catalog. Lets say it is a door. But I want to customize the door by adding a round window. I renamed the copied files to Door with round window. Does it associate the new family with the new catalog with the same name, or is there something I need to do to associate the new door family with the new catalog? Some families I have edited with catalogs, still have Family Types listed in the Revit family model, and some have none listed under the family types. When I export to family type catalog, does it remove them from the family types within the RFA? I don't want the parameter listed in both the catalog and in the file, causing confusion.
Q1: The name of the family always have to be the same name in the txt file so that it is loaded as "types" Q2: You don't really need a "named Type", you can keep as "Standard". For great info Check Paul Aubin's Video on LinkedIn "Tips, Tricks and Troubleshooting"
You are cool as cucumber mate :-).
Thanks!
Yes. Can you make a video showing how we insert the component (fan coil, chiller, pumps, etc.) in AutoCAD MEP? For example: in Revit we download families from many websites, but I don't know about AutoCAD MEP.
Maybe soon
Thank you very much for your MEP presentations!!!

ok
So this would work for worksharing- you just wont say it directly? :D
Milos, Even though it was BY FAR my most popular video (yes...it was becoming viral), I think it would have been irresponsible to keep the video up. It was too risky for people who didn't really know what they were doing. Have a nice weekend =)
I just saw a Mcafee notification and went to settings and saw this one too with one more app. This was the hardest to delete. Mcafee and that other app uninstalled right away but this took 3 tries until it was off my pc.
Yes, this a "stubborn" one =)
Excelent,thanks Alex,always so useful info
My pleasure!
Awesome 👏🏻
Glad it was helpful!
You are the best one Thank you so much ❤❤❤❤
You're welcome 😊
Hi, I'm having an issue with the height parameter in my drawing. On the front tab, when I modify the family type's height, the change is reflected. However, when I make the same adjustment in the 3D view, the element doesn't elongate as expected. The height parameter on the front tab remains updated. Could this be a software bug? Thank you
It was a simple mistake. I forgot to apply the AL command to the top plane and top face. Thanks for your assistance
Make sure you lock your faces to your reference planes =)
Glad you figured it out. Congratulations. That's a useful family =)
@@bimitup Yes, that's right. Thank you very much. I hope you'll make another video about drawing a ball valve to control the gas supply to patient rooms.
