Glad to see some new content. I watched some of your videos last year when I got into kilts.
@@StorminNormanSays Thank you. Owning a quality kilt leaves an imprint on us kilt wearers that never goes away .,, Your videos are like a late night show. Fun and relevant with comedy in between
Really like the sporran, where do you find it?
@@murse32 Don’t remember the exact website. Nothing found in my email for purchase confirmation … However I remember going on Google and typing Medieval Sporran. I did it again and this website showed up. Maybe you might find something to catch your eye … redfalconproducts.com/product/sporran-pouch/

My advice, just throw money at a real kilt and rip off the bandage. Buy once cry once.
Good advice … Once a real kilt of 5 Yards and above is owned, it’s not likely to go back to the more affordable ones
Cool kilts I have a few my self I really love to wear
Been thinking about trying this. Thanks for the advice on combining two of my favorite things.
Awesome. Glad to assist in some way
One of my favourite cookies watching while eating 👏
The red looks good on you. Might consider a white pair also. Remember to stand straight, be proud, head up, shoulders back! Kilt up lad!
What's the purpose of wearing a kilt if you're wearing tights? Defeats the purpose of wearing a kilt?
Good advice. We all live & learn. Tights no more for me.
I bet an older video, but, USA kilts it’s probably the Premier kilt maker in the US. And a lot of the products they actually import from Scotland.
Connery, Butler and Stewart are wearing Prince Charles jackets, though for some reason Butler is wearing a black shirt. P-Diddy is wearing a Sheriffmuir jacket. The PC is recognizable by being cut rather low. Especially the vest as oposed to an Argyle vest and jacket that is cut higher ( the collars ). I recognize Sheriffmuirs by the ”flaps” on the hips.
Cool. 👍 I’ve been wearing kilts now since the early 90’s. Both wool and polyviscose. 🇸🇪
A KILT is NOT a skirt! It is not sewn and it is not talored or fashioned it is a WOOL BLANKET. It has no stitches and it is a blanket FOLDED TOGETHER and buckled. It is used for status and family affiliation and they slept in it for WARMTH and it is rain resistant to protect against the elements. They used it as a sleeping bag and tent. A skirt can do NONE OF THAT as it is sewn together. The Kilt is multipurpose .....a skirt is form fitting and tailored and sewn to accentuate the curves of a woman. A kilt doesnt do ANY of that!
Thank you for your truthful comment.
@@kiltadvocate You're Welcome.
Really nice tartan. I’ve got my eyes on some of their products myself.
I have a few of these from USA Kilts and found them to be good quality... I find myself gravitating towards the premiere kilts as L like the higher quality.
What tartan is your favorite? What made you begin to wear kilts? I have a McKenzie tartan kilt, a black watch, and black utility kilt. Many cultures wear kilts. India has kilted regiments, some indonesian people also wear kilts. Also some african tribes and hawaiian, and greek, roman, norse. The norsemen had an influence on the kilt length and style we have today. Thank you for your service. I'm glad you made it home safe from your service time. What affiliation do you have with your chosen kilt tartans or kilts in general? I usually get positive reactions when I wear my kilts to town.. The sarong in indonesia is much like the kilt, and is worn by both men and women. Lots of kilt history. Stay cool. Awesome kilt. Is that a 5yard or 8yard kilt? I like the Marine Corp buckle. That fits you just fine.
Favorite tartan as of now is the California tartan & Isle of Skye … I started watching history movies and documentaries & realized that clothing choice & style … Eventually came across the USMC tartan & did more research on universal tartans … Eventually found out about septs & see that my last name of Hudson is a sept under MacDonald. I am fond of that tartan as well
My kilt dries pretty quickly from the rain. I applaud you for your kilts and information. I'm definitely a subscription. I usually get asked what I wear under the kilt. That's the most often asked question.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
The shortbread cookies is the one that I can’t get enough of. I bought 3 packs. I ate two packs in one day.
Awesome kilts!
Love these!
You need a glass of milk or tea.
Hey, sorry your video hasn't gotten more attention. Just wanted to say that this is the first time we've seen the t-shirt trick. Nice hack. Also, sorry that guy hassled you. Seems you were very patient with him.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
Kilt on brother! I started wearing a kilt this year. I primarily wear utility kilts because of its practicality for me but I also have a few tartan kilts. I live in a small town of 2700 people in North Central Iowa and I'm the only kilted guy around for 50 miles.
man my mom bought those and now they are finished because i devoured all of them and now all i can do is watch people eat them
Ok .... read the book “ the art of kilt making” by Barbra Tewksbury You got screwed. I’m sorry But It has a hem and not a proper selvage edge. Which means it’s actually a lower quality weave. Or (and I hope not) They sold you a lower weight than you were told... because usually Dancers kilts have a hem because they need to use a lighter wool for proper bounce. Usually 13oz wool has a decent selvage edge and it looks nice without need to hem. Each mill is different... however I feel you should know more about the stitching... ( machine stitching isn’t a great idea for good quality wool) because it stands out against the twill too much and is unsightly. you can do invisible stitching with thicker wool so you should.. I am happy you’re happy... but if you read this book... you will know SO much more you will be able to tell what is overpriced and what isn’t... you can dictate to the maker your standards and can tell if your maker is being 💯 and not just squeezing money from you....for example that hangar charge is appalling.... if you are buying kit from a maker they should provide a hanger for it... please invest in the book... it’s the ktmakers bible... I’m sure the guys at USA kilts read it. Cause it’s that or go take a week long kiltmaking course at Elsie’s in Scotland.. If you are passionate... consider making your own... it’s not as hard as you think once you get the major principles . I’ve been a piper since I was 12 and couldn’t afford a real kilt till I was 22.... and I paid my $2300 on my kit when all said and done... then I decided I wasn’t gonna pay for a new one... so I bought the book...
I don’t think he was *really* screwed; I believe he got what he paid for. Yes, a hand-sewn kilt would be higher quality. The guys at USA Kilts don’t hand sew their kilts. Not everyone is interested in or can afford to get one, or learn how to make one for themselves. Mr. Kilt Advocate may not want to learn about hand stitching the wool fabric, which indeed would be kinder to the fabric. And be a way to tweak the fit even more. I’ve been educating myself about kilts, and now, about how to make them, to the end of custom tailoring them, instead of ordering a bespoke kilted skirt in Edinburgh in June. So thanks for the suggestion of the book by Barbara Tewksbury! 👍 I’ve been sewing for 55 years.
I've had a few from them over the course of the last ten or so years and none were hemmed. Different mills selvedge edges look different because of the machine the tartan is run through during the finishing process. Unfortunately the cameraman focused on the flashy stuff and didn't show the lower edge very well.
🤨 I think you should buy and read..... “ the art of Kiltmaking” by Barbra Tewksbury. If you read this book you will be very knowledgeable compared to what you are now. These are not kilts... U may feel it is... But it’s actually quite offensive to us actual kiltmakers who construct the real deal.
Watching this in 23' agreed,, this is absolutely offensive 🤦🏽♀️ amazon trash! 😂
I was able to download and print the book you have mentioned … After purchasing a 5-yard wool kilt, I now have higher standards and better knowledge … 13 oz and 16 oz 5 yards and 8 yards Different mills and the tartans in inventory … Machine stitched versus hand stitched … Thank you
They where made to use during highland games. So you don't mess up your good kilts. Yall should calm down a little bit.
@@hudsonfamoffficial you’re very welcome, thank you for taking time to learn it👏🏻
That sporran is very nice!. I myself have a plain brown leather day sporran that's more of an " british military issued" type that came with a matching brown leather waist belt. It didn't cost as much, but it does serve me well.
Stand your ground, be happy and be safe. Semper Vigilans
I hope you reach your desired weight and waist size so you get to wear this kilt and perhaps show your triumph.. Best wishes
Where is your sporran devil dog!?
Casual doesn't mandate sporran.
Sporran had a light duty chit. Now back in action.
This is wonderful. Just wonderful. Mr KiltAdvocate, I won't pretend that I didn't giggle my way through this entire song, and that your videos might be hitting your viewers a little differently than you intend. However, I must say, you are the kind of nerd the planet needs. Man, what a positive guy! You have made my week! Oo-rah, motivator!
Thank you for your informative comment with hints of humor. Semper Fidelis

very depressing video you're an ass whole
Waiting for new videos!
Lorenzo B. Thank you. I’ll see what I can share that’s interesting.
I just bought the Air Force Tartan I served for 20 years... Thank for your service
I'm glad that you are happy with your purchase. That's a beautiful tartan. Indeed. Should you want one a little more formal... 'USA Kilts' is a good source. 20 years is a long time. Automatic respect.
Well Ive been wearing workmen kilts for 3 months on my bike in Fla. Now heading back to Ma and the rain is killer . I like the shirt & Loggins. Today though warm rain it was all day. I just sit on the kilt. Ill try the tucking flap. In two weeks I drive to Stergis six weeks in a kilt.
Jim MacIntosh Awesome. You surely have a passion 🌴 It is said that... Where there is a will... There is a way 🌴 From experience, it's usually true.
I live in MA as well Jim. Been riding most of my life. At age 76 this will be my first year riding in a kilt, though I've been tossing it back and forth now for a good ten years. Plan to start in early July as I have some weight to lose and the measurement has to be just right. If you bought that sidecar rig at MOM's in Foxborough my nephew is a mechanic there. Say the word in July (they'll probably have some get together around then) and maybe we can meet in kilts and blow them all away.
a man after my own heart. but I don't know about wearing tights they seem like a women's garmet to me.
For me it's practical and efficient. I think of masculine men who wear tight clothing in sports. Football and wrestling, even basketball. That makes me feel secure and content.
I "discovered" those shortbreat cookies/biscuits a few years ago and became a huge fan of them after the very first bite. They're highly addictive and certainly the perfect choice for dunking in your milk, tea, or coffee! So far I've tried the rectangular, triangular, and circular ones (the last being my favorite), and now I can't wait to try the Scottie dogs! And I think there are a few other varieties as well. Yummy :P
I'm happy you can add another variety to your tasting experience. Truly so many more, and depending on the shape & texture one can be better than the other. Each serves its purpose. ⛵
Air Force and Marines, how do you accomplish that?
everett higginbotham I accomplished simply by applying & waiting to be approved or eligible. First joined the Marines. ⛵ Then after my contract ended, joined the Air Force. I suppose it's similar to the military individuals who start as enlisted service members & then transition to officer with time ⛵ I remember the informal term for enlisted to officer is called 'Mustang'. For switching services, I haven't heard of a universal term, but 'Hybrid' seems appropiate. Indeed. ⛵
Kilt Advocate I had a history teacher in highschool that went Marines and then Air Force. He was made a photographer in the Air Force and taught it in our school. What do you think about the modern kilts with an apron in the front and back and plets on the sides?
Awesome. Thanks for sharing that story. Glad to hear of others. I've seen images of these modern side pleated kilt. I'm sure it has an audience. Personally I would stay away from that style. My interest in kilts only grew because of the meaning each one could represent in regards to the tartan or pattern. So, to answer your question, I'm not a fan of the modern side pleat kilts. I would rather do something different and purchase a solid color kilt or tartan kilt with a box pleat... rather than the usual knife pleat. Why? Seems practical. Easy to maintain the pleats and have them continue to look good.
Very cool review. Keep this up!
Awesome to hear. Glad you enjoyed the review. I'll keep sharing my thoughts & purchases.
I love cabbage about any way you want to fix it except raw and by itself but I have to admit I've never eaten canned cabbage unless it was saurekraut. I've also never eaten rutabagas. You might find fresh head cabbage is cheaper than the canned, it's very cheap.
I'll definitely take a look at cabbage in the produce isle on my next grocery store visit ⛵I don't mind the extra preparation. Cabbage is a legend in taste. delicious! Rutabags are an acquired taste. I'd choose it over broccoli.
Awwww man I love "Walkers shortbread!. Nice addition and pairing with wine. Cheers!
Awesome. I'm a true fan of Walkers Shortbread now. Paired with milk (like an Oreo serving suggestion) it's top notch.
????????
Priya's Art Awesome. Thanks for sharing. ⛵
Congrats on the new kilt my friend.
Thank you brother. I'm a true fan. The kilt has me saving money & learning more about history. A double whammy. It's made me smarter or wiser rather & I can't see myself letting it go. I'm glad there are casual poly blend or light wool kilts with less yards available so it doesn't hurt my pockets too much.
What were those two super food supplements you took right before your meal? I didn't catch that second one
Celso Garcia #1: Spirulina #2: Chlorella. These are sold in pill or powder . Being on a budget the pill form works for me. Eventually I'll move to the powder form to add to smoothies and such. The benefits are surprising. ⛵
