Why Americans and Europeans dislike each other?
มุมมอง 36Kปีที่แล้ว
After spending time between Europe and the USA, I realized how the American and the European ways of life look similar yet are so different. Which culture actually contributes to a better quality of life?
Talking to strangers changed my life
มุมมอง 9Kปีที่แล้ว
I talked to strangers everyday for 6 years as an introvert, this is what happened.
What's the point of making friends and building connections with people if we live in a world where nobody cares about you?
Obviously human beings aren't anti- fragile per se. The data shows clearly that many people have too much stress. Many break or become traumatized. Implying or saying that "WE" avoid stress is factually wrong. I am sure that the idea of anti fragility can be inspiring to some. Just leave the massive generalisation out.
It is a great opportuinty to quote Michael Scott here: "I want people to fear how much they love me"
Brilliantly done video!
Just one remark. There is a difference between feeling awkward in interactions, and being an introvert. You can be both an introvert and the most charismatic person around
I thought the exact same thing as an American who travelled to Morocco, Spain, Turkey and Portugal. The later 4 countries were very walkable and densely populated while USA has ugly freeways with less walking and more car honking culture. And you are so spot on about the liveliness in Morocco vs the West. In Morocco and Turkey, you have people grilling kebabs on the side of their restaurants and other livliness
You look like French Montana haha. My wife is also Moroccan and I am Bengali. Great advice. I feel like i drifted from my circle of friends a bit and need to make an effort in making new friends otherwise, i will just live a boring life stuck only with my wife. Perhaps have some convo starters or teach us how you engage with people
I love your work Naoufal, thank you for your contributions
Would recommend books from Ibn Khaldun, Ibn arabi and AL Ghazzali to add to your list if you haven't already.
Love it !
"People think philosophy is the 🗡️ knife, while the reality is, philosophy is the wet stone though which you sharpen your knife of Wisdom" ~me
What stone?
Can you make a vidoe on the 48 laws of power??
The last one is my favorite!
great video. i'm so glad i stumbled upon this masterpiece. only remake I have is to invest in a better microphone so it sounds more professional
can you put those subtitles in the video i think it would be much more interesting and easier to watch
TH-cam captions are pretty good tbh
@ yea its not for accesability its more for the video to be more dynamic like the ones from tiktok videos
6:40 Amazing. Completely agree. You are interested in such niche things like me, we'd be great friends!
Great video. Bravo
Another video 🔥❤
First here 🫶
Why this video has only 8400 views? Anyway, thank you Naoufal for you advice, i saved the video in one of my folders. I moved to Australia more than a month ago and i'm 19 years old. i was born in Italy but in these years i wanna travel, growth, meet new people... It is very funny make friends here because there are so many guys that come from different country. And it is absolutely beautiful explore different cultures every time and learn new things!
I like your video. The only part I don't agree is placing Elon Musk as an example about the bad or risky success. That guy thinks in ways we don't even understand. We only criticize him because he's on his playground on Twitter.
Great video, susbcribed
Talking to strangers in the right setting. It’s like a that consistently as long as I do it, I may never know, someone may identify that I talk to people.
a TH-camr is everything that is against Taleb's values.
Watching this from the worst city on Earth, Delhi, hits different. I long to leave and experience the magic of these few cities you've been so lucky to experience. I remember seeing this very educational thread on Twitter about how few "corridors" of cities, like the Boston-Cambridge in Massachussets or Heidelberg-Mannheim and it's residents were responsible for most of the innovation affecting the ENTIRE planet. I was mindblown.
He's one of my favourite authors too, even when I profoundly disagree with him on some aspects. Would be great if you could also make a video on things not to learn from Nassim (for example Twitter fights haha).
You are fucking good.
You're correct. Specialization is indeed the most efficient way to organize an economy, but it shouldn't be how we organize our lives as men. The full version of the quote you mentioned actually goes like this: "Jack of all trades, master of none - though oftentimes better than master of one." Well-done, Naoufal. I can't help but binge watch more of your videos! Keep it up.
This is a fantastic intro to Incerto. It changed my life as well, and I appreciate being reminded of many of these ideas.
Watching this video for the 2nd time, a month after my 1st watch, to better understand the basics before finally starting to read the books myself.
Bravooo Mr.Naoufal! The video was amazing, I really appreciated it.
Jack of all trades master of none yet oftentimes Better .... Its full one
hey dude, i’m also in tech sales, trying to grow a channel. if you are in nyc, we should connect.
What a great video! I am an American and proudly support urban trees and walkable cities. Each of these factors helps support your end goal of interesting and complex but enjoyable cities. Thank you for sharing! I look forward to more videos from you.
I created a full business model based on Nassim's books and philosophy and that business model get endorsed from the UK Endorsement Bodies, its really turning point for anyone interested in uncertainty, randomness, probability theories and stoicism philosophy.
your videos give me motivation, please link us your spotify playlist <3
Proud to see my fellow Moroccans making quality content in English for international audience. Keep it up
Dude, amazing video! Congratulations!
Hi, How is it possible that having shelf full of unread books help? You say it generates curiosity. However what I found is, I bought a book but then midway I lost interest. I never touched that book again.
Very strong message. I love how you say you could start a new in any country where they speak your languages. This is such a empowering idea
Great video! I read and reread Nassim Talebs books as well and I agree with your points. Good luck with the channel!
Thank you for this story.
no it is not
As an American you didn’t lose me. I completely agree the street markets and the street vendors are the hearts of the all cities. I live in Thailand now and couldn’t imagine living back in boring Chicago.
Very interesting topic. Makes complete sense but I never really thought about it. What's your opinion on living in more remote places? Small towns, villages etc.
Thank you! I believe it all depends on your approach to life
great exploration for the topic that I didn't expect to be this interesting but you made it so 🤴
Thank you!
I adore this. The editing, the research, the context. Good job! 🎉
Cool video man, waiting for more videos
Love how you break down their unseen influence on our daily lives - super insightful. Keep it up, brother! Getting better and better.
Thanks man!
I loved the video bro, I saw it has only a few views but only after seeing the thumbnail It seemed like a good video
