I remember this game...even though I was born twenty years later.
43:18........Tre Smith was never down. His knee hits ground only AFTER the play was whistled dead.
Brandon Cox is still the most underrated QB in Auburn football history. I never understood why Auburn fans thought he sucked. He played smart, made good decisions--Ga Tech game notwithstanding. This Auburn team was SO close. They win the LSU game--and they shouldve--this season would be remembered WAY differently. They always have elite special teams....and somehow missed 5 FGs in an OT loss to LSU. They were clearly the better team. Also, if that Ga Tech game takes place in any week but week 1, we win it. This was a damn good Auburn team.
I was there.
This was Alabama's way down till 71 and the wishbone
My brother played in this game for Auburn
I was a young football fan during this season. It was magical. My favorite Auburn football team. Deserved to be national champions that year.
Me and Madison weren't even born or on the sideline to start 1987. Two years later Madison was born in July, and Yours Truly was born 3 months after Madison's birth.

I was home for Christmas from Annapolis and I watched the game down in our basement. I had a bet with a guy from Colorado and I won. War Eagle
Still one of my all time favorite game endings...Bo Over the Top!

One of the loudest games in the history of Jordan Hare.
One of my all-time favorite games and I'm 76 years old so I've seen a few. That missed PAT in the 3rd quarter came back to bite Ole Miss in the ass!
I never understood this rivalry growing up in California it wasn’t until I dated a woman from Alabama and I met her family and they were diehard Bama fans and I said war eagle they still hate me till this day.
SCC 60 Ms CC 100 m there should be at least a 515 minute video of Bo Jackson running track at Auburn human thoroughbred
Sec 60 m champion I think he finished second in the SEC 100 m finals this man is a human thoroughbred and there's no TH-cam videos of his track practices of his track events which the University of Auburn all has a video library of
The dudes just tied at number one is the greatest athlete in the history of the planet right up there with Jim Thorpe how has someone who is a Bo Jackson fan not come up with Bo Jackson's track career at Auburn
I was there. What a game! I had classes with Tommy Agee and others. Bo would pick up my neighbor every morning. Great memories. Thanks for posting.
Yea that was back when Auburn was a real program. Not the complete dumpsterfuck of a program it is now. Auburn football is DONE. Guess we will be a basketball school now lmao.
I got custom made plaque 1993 11-0
Honk if you sacked Brodie
When auburn ran the fake punt on their last touchdown, Coach Bryant said, “ ain’t that enough to just turn your stomach “, on the Sunday afternoon replay show.
a big orange crushing! I remember watching it on TV. War Eagle!
The Day after Thanksgiving is Black Friday Iron Bowl 1988 will be the Last Black Friday Iron Bowl until 2009
Let me fix that for you. 2004 SEC Championship Game (less almost ALL of the 2nd quarter)
Worst game ever.
Why??
odd that this game was played on a friday night
Auburn got cheated out ot the NC game this year because USC had always been media babies. I remember Tommy Tuberville actually spent his own money and bought the entire team National Championship rings that year. WDE!
I remember this game👍

Ill never forget this one, we needed it and we kicked butt and the voters were like..."not enough to jump choke lahoma"... I had ten folks with me that day in sec 9, ready to go, got to our spot at 7am as per usual on big game day.....we left confident...and then the stupid BCS said ..." We hate Auburn".
Auburn fan here. No one is talking about how there was one second left when Campbell went down on that last play....
Love watching the intro to this game with all of the historic highlights. 22 years later, we’ve had some great highlights added to the lore of the iron bowl, haven’t we ?
Got behind 17-0...first quarter and won. Johnny Musso set a rushing record for Bama and lost.
I was there. I remember the tide fans cheering can't you count shut when Auburn kicked a field goal trailing 16-0 in the forth quarter.
Linda and I were there….WDE
Marcus McNeil Ben Grubbs need offensive lineman like that again
How many times did Auburn turn it over 20 times dam
I remember this game well. I was a 9 year old Dawg fan. This game crushed me. Two undefeated top 10 teams, electric atmosphere. Pat Sullivan won the Heisman off of this performance.
Every yard line was the twelve for bummer.
