This channel is all about outdoor adventures in Florida. We love all sorts of fishing, hunting, hiking, fossiling, paddle boarding, camping and more! We catch fish anywhere from tiny creeks to miles offshore and everywhere in between, we scout for and hunt deer and hogs on public land with the longbow, we sift for prehistoric shark teeth and ice age fossils, we visit springs and have a great time exploring. There are always fun and amazing adventures to experience in this beautiful place. I don't claim to be an expert on anything - this is all about sharing the neat things we do.
Florida Summer Deer Scouting - Avon Park AFBR - Day 2
This is our second day of scouting for deer and hogs on some new-to-us public hunting property. Again, our purpose is just to cover ground and check out some areas that we have identified on aerial maps and get some eyes and boots on the ground. Seeing what the different habitat types look like from the ground view really enhances your ability to predict what other areas might look like while going off aerial imagery.

A super shallow creek through the Florida swamp is the perfect place to test out my homemade DIY adjustable jackplate for the tiny outboard on our aluminum jonboat and have some fun catching a cooler full of catfish at the same time! For less than $75 bucks in materials, the plate is fully adjustable and let's the boat slide over just about any submerged obstruction and sandbar.
