The Truck at the hill. RC 1/5 Truck, 71cc bogie drive.
Just had to take the Truck to the hill, was not sure what to expect, well, what a blast, could not believe how well it went, was charbin' like a mad thing.

Gave ol' BJ buggy another run up the hill, was a heap of fun. Went pretty good until it sucked up some water, now gotta give it a lot of TLC, ran her pretty hard 😃😁.
The Rampage, (GV Models), with Super Mudders

The Super Mudders arrived and I installed them on the original Rampage wheels, it looks good and goes well. I lost a ball joint at the end of the video, now I have to try and find one somewhere.

Well, I finally finished the Little Truck, younger sibling to The Truck. Seems to go okay, raced some motor bike riders, was a lot of fun.

Took Ol' Smithy to Dakabin for a run with the Zen, was a bit of fun, had a couple of near misses, kept the heart beating.

Well, this is different, footage from a drone, was pretty cool. A friend of mine met us at Dakabin and did a bit of videoing with his drone, it was amazing how good the footage was, gives a different perspective. The 59 was running out of fuel towards the end of the video, that is why it was not running as good as before. All in all, I liked it.
The Rampage in the real world.

Took the Rampage to Dakabin for a run in the real world. The first roll over was due to the outerwear, (Baja size), getting caught around the pinion and spur gear, stopped it in a hurry 🤣. The last roll over caused one of the receiver batteries pop out of the case, cutting power to the receiver, lucky I had backed off to idle, otherwise the ol' Rampage would have taken off across the paddock in...

Finally got this thing running pretty good. I need to adjust the transmission, though, I think it is not starting in first gear.

I did a little modification, I cut down an old HPI Savage wheelie bar and fitted it to the Rampage, it is much better. I have a Version 2 wheelie bar coming, should be even more stable.
The Ramage test run

Gave the Rampage, (GV Models), another test run after installing aluminium rod ends on the four link rods, front and rear, they don't break no more, lol. Needs a decent wheelie bar, though, dunno why they make the original ones so short and high.
HPI Savage XL 5.9cc, (The 59).

Took the 59 for a quick test run, got a three things to sort out, steering linkages keep popping off at the wheels, needs a better wheelie bar and gotta adjust the transmission so it uses the three gears, otherwise it went well.

The Rampage test run, ran pretty good, the engine has been run in, had to replace some plastic rod ends. I fitted some Traxxas wheel adaptors so I could run the original Savage XL wheels and tyres, was okay.

I bought this thing second or maybe third or fourth hand, does not matter. A new engine, transmitter and receiver and servo's, a few repairs, new tyres and a whole heap of TLC and it runs, cool. Was using road tyres, they were a bit small, were okay for testing, though. I will have to do something with the shockies, they are a bit sudden. Had to take it easy, had to run it in. Kyosho USA 1 and the Traxxas REVO 3.3

The old Kyosho is a pretty good wheelie machine, it does weally good wheelies, lol. The REVO is faster, though. It looks like the USA 1 has self righting technology, must be analog, lol. The wheelie bars have been modified so it does not keep flipping over so much. Have not had much trouble with it. The REVO's are a good thing, as well.

Ol' Smithy running craisee. Installed a new one way bearing, much better, stuck in second gear again, gonna have to fix that, again. Ya I wondered how deep the puddle was and then it drove 2 inches away at like 30 mph. Then I was thinking about what it would cost/take to rebuild after getting submerged

Chuckle, thanks for your concern. Worst case scenario, air filter gets wet, engine stops, no problem or damage. If the electronics get wet, I usually pull everything out, dry it out with a hair dryer, leave it out for a couple of days and she'll be right.

Wish I had keep my one 15 odd years back had it a week snapped the piston rod after a few tanks was breaking it in as I had done with my other nitros at the time I put a gv racing 21 out of my buggy into it was good at wheelies I have 30 cars now only 4 are nitro and 3 are gas rest brushless stuff I been fishing for one of these on eBay Il get and do up one day also want to restore my hpi savage that’s near 20 years old that been best to death

Thanks, it was fun. Based on my experience of buying the new Savage X, the old one is better in performance and value, by far. I bought a brand new Savage X in August 2013, then the new version in February, 2022, I had to spend another couple of hundred dollars to make it equal the the 2013 model.

I'm not there, but it really sounds like no first gear, or maybe shifting into second way too soon. Ran into that with mine, factory sets these things LOW. I was amazed when I got it adjusted right- kept spinning the tires and doing a quick rear end slide when it slammed second to third! Plus more rpm than I'm hearing here. Had to turn the adjust screws in a bunch to get it right.
Chuckle, this is an old video, the transmission has had a few adjustments since then. I appreciate your input, though, and you are right about the adjustments.
Nine wheels on your Revo I have the same oldies on my truck to. The glue ripped off the chrome on the rims on mine lol. such good runners 👊😎

Hello, I do not know where you will get one for a hundred dollars, I paid 200. It has cost me over 500 and a lot of TLC to get it back in shape, have not finished sorting it out, yet.

@@teksrcs3464 it was a little far and passing was the wrong word someone else got to it first. The mta4 was originally a s28 but it has a os max 30VG engine and a s50 tranny and driveline in it. It rips hard. Oh and a wheeliebar ofcourse
